Clueless Gamer: Conan O'Brien Reviews COD Advanced Warfare

It's real time, video was played in front of the audience.

And if you remove the "laugh track" it would still be funny, unlike some show.

are you sure?
the laughter sounds exactly like scooby doo.

well ... maybe they had those guys that stand at the end of each row to pump the laughter. They use them for those late night shows..

edit: ok I went to google "clueless gamer laugh track" and - the accusation comes up all the time. If he really does record a live audience reacting, then it sure sounds like a laugh machine. What does he do, pay 100 people to travel in to sit and laugh at a 5 minute video then leave? I'm trying to imagine how that works.

Why do the cars robotically drive at a constant speed regardless of what's going on and people fighting a frigging war right there?

"Hey Gideon the Edge called he wants his hat back!" and the street bit had me laughing so hard omg. Some might say that the driving is accurate lol every time I went to Seoul cars didn't really pay attention to traffic rules and you could literally get run over if you're not paying attention.

...you know the guy hosts a talk-show right?

The street thing looks terrible. The one shitty thing that should have been a QTE and they don't make it one. 59 attempts. lol

Instead, press X to pay respects. lol

Who? Conan or clueless gamer?

so Conan shows the clueless gamer clip to his audience before or after taping the show?
is that correct and someone knows that was what happened with this clip?

Also - what happens with those shows is they mix in laugh machines, using a "laugh guy", with audience reaction in order to get things nice and consistent, so either way, the really fake sounding generic laughter may not be the live audience. Shrug.

Really funny stuff from Conan as usual.

I read the thread before watching the video; had no idea "Press X to pay respects was actually a part of the game."

Best part had to be the bridge.

Conan shows his clips during the show.

If you check out his full shows, Conan is very prone to turkeys and he frequently gets punished with awkward silence or boos.

You can google accusations to almost anything, doesn't prove anything.

These Clueless Gamer bits are always hilarious.

You know what I'd love to see? Conan playing God of War 3 or whatever the next GoW game happens to be.

Have you done literally any substantial research beyond a google search or yahoo answers?

Are you a slow adult?

Edit: Nevermind. I did some research and found the answer.

I wish they 'reviewed' Bayonetta 2.

His "Pervy stuff" that he did in his review of Tomb Raider, would be up to the freaking 11th power if he saw/plays Bayonetta. And it would be glorious. XD

especially the opening cutscenes.

I am hardly the first to recognise a generic laugh track it comes up every time for this guys vids, so i am just wondering if anyone knows for a -fact- it is genuine reactions, or blended or fake.
if its genuine the audience has the most 70s laugh sound ever, and are very easily amused.

In general, Conan only reviews games for Microsoft platforms as some kind of ad deal. He occasionally make exceptions for special events like E3 though.
Edit: Audience laughter is usually prompted but not canned. They'll typically flash applause or laughter signs so that the audience knows when to react. They'll also often edit crowd noise from certain sections which may make it sound fake.

Eh, I think it's a case by case basis and there's no exclusivity deal for the advertisement. It may just be that Microsoft is more keen to using Conan than Sony is. I mean, Conan just did an amazing Super Smash Bros. 4 Clueless Gamer around June.

Lol Conan calling it as he sees it as usual. Glad he called out the dead eyes and press x to pay respects.

That's why I said he makes exceptions for stuff like E3, which is when he did the smash brothers stuff. I have yet to see him do anything but Xbox games other than the E3 coverage.

I don't find thing funny, so that must mean nobody else can.
