COD4 MLG Rules (lol)

I saw this on GFaqs :(

1. No leaving the normal boundaries of a Map.

2. No going into the tunnel walls on Pipepline.

3. No going on top of the arch on District.

4. No going onto Invisible Ledges.

5. No jumping off of another Character.

6. No using the Grenade Launcher.

7. No using the Frag x 3 Perk.

8. No using C4.

9. No using Claymores.


10. No removing players on the opposing Team from the Private Match once a Game has started.

11. Breaking any of rules #1-10 will result in a Forfeit of the Game.

The "glitch" like stuff I can understand--as well as the removing of players and such--, but...the rest is petty and dumb.
 
The only one that makes sense is no Frag x3. FF is on with MLG rules I believe, so Frag x3 can be abused by killing each other just to respawn with 3 more frags. The rest are just unnecessary though.

I've gotten quite adept at throwing back Spamnades in Hardcore, it's the cooked ones that get me, but then again it should.

Wow, this is a competition.

If there are elements that make the competition unbalance, of course you take it out.

It's like all those DOTA tourneys don't allow Magnataur because he's an overpowered biatch.

C4 and Claymores aren't unbalanced though.

Whiny cunts never bother to learn how to play against someone using a lot of explosives.
 
Yeah, fact about me:

I always, always, ALWAYS use Bomb Squad in S&D. Dying a quick death from a friggin' claymore is not how I should lose. :lol

No, when playing a competitive game, you find counters to popular tactics. You don't ban them. It'd be like banning Chun-Li and Yun in 3rd strike. Glitches and team removal I can understand though.

Yeah, people always bitch about being hit by them but you can use that perk every time to find out where they all are. Great for finding out the Snipers since if you see a claymore, a Sniper can't be that far away.

I usually will see the claymore, then shoot it and run away. Give myself a minute or two then go back and kill the sniper because by then they aren't on high alert anymore that they heard it go off and you can get an easy kill.
 
Aside from Clamymore/ C4, these seem to be the most reasonable MLG rules I've ever seen.
At least they aren't completely banning most weapons/items.

both are useless in hardcore and I love it. When I or my buddies see a red cross when shooting someone in HC we instantly say "what a dumb ass". Either they are a noob to HC or they made a mistake and couldn't change their perk in time before the match started.

How so? Most people use Stopping Power. All Juggernaut does is cancel out Stopping Power, putting both players on equal terms. If you're not using Stopping Power, you counter by either using more powerful weapons or being damn good with your aim.

Juggernaut is the most overpowered perk in the game by far. Get a high dmg weapon and throw jugg on it's very unbalanced.

I still don't see the issue. How is that any different than using a high damage weapon and Stopping Power?

This reminds me of the days when people would boot players from the game in RTCW for using the Panzer.

The only thing better than splattering the entire opposing team within the first 30 seconds of a round of Elimination with the Panzer is splattering the entire opposing team within the first 30 seconds of a round of Elimination with the Panzer and promptly getting booted. :lol
 
I use claymores and don't see it as an advantage since it takes up a spot. They dissapear when you die anyway.

If it is part of the game it should be allowed.
 
LOL, wait whats so funny? The people that play MLG rules have probably done all that disallowed stuff for hours and have decided they want to play in a more competitive and skillful environment. Beating up on scrubs with power weapons isn't the most fun thing in the world.
 
The only one i can understand having banned from matchs is the Frag perk x3. Games start up being nothing but grenade wars, Everything else there just being pussies about it and want to have there perks used on other items besides the bomb detecting. Im just talking about the highlighted stuff btw. All the rest is resonable.
 
These guys are dreaming if they think their rules can further balance COD4. It's perfect the way it is.

You know what I discovered for the first time last night? ARCADE MODE!!! That shit is rad man! I put it on regular difficulty and did speed runs through choice levels. It has everything you want in an arcade game: extra mans, multipliers, a timer. You can even try to complete the whole game on a single 'quarter.' It's surprisingly fun.

Seriously, I have much respect for this game, it can do everything. Call of Duty 4 is actually better than the consoles it runs on.
