Collectible Fallout 76 Power Armor helmet recalled due to risk of mold exposure

And this is how Bethesda melted this timeline with the "TLOU"-timeline... mutated fungi in a plastic helmet... who would have thought...

Edit

Damn, beaten!

If the batteries run low, the voice modulator does just make clicking sounds.

This game has got to be going for some sort of record on how to completely botch a release in a major franchise.

I assume inside it has fabric -probably cotton- to cushion the wearer. Though seemingly they didn't think about proper ventilation so it stays humid and mold forms.

the recall documentation does talk about the liner and harness fabric.

my recommended solution would be put helmet on, drill holes for ventilation. See what happens.

It was 32 units sold by gamestop

“The recall only involves the Fallout 1:1 Power Armor Nuka-Cola Helmets that have a red painted finish with white-colored exterior tubing around the sides,” Chronicle told me via Twitter DM seven hours after this story was first published. Crucially, “only 32 units of the recalled helmets were actually sold and shipped to consumers, and all of those consumers have been identified and notified directly about the recall. No other models, editions, or colors of Power Armor Helmets are involved in this recall.”

Serves Bethesda right for doing all these collector's deluxe packs.

But blame to go on both sides... Bethesda and the supplier making them. Surely one of them would bring up ventilation issues when coming up with a Fallout helmet.

Goes to show the company making it has no clue, and Bethesda (being a game maker) has no clue on textiles.

The company that made it doesn't give a shit as long as Bethesda's checks cash. The supplier making them is in China, and the person that built it was probably a kid. You send a blueprint of what your company makes to a large plastic shit manufacturer and they will make it roughly to spec. Bethesda could have designed the helmet with a knife coming down inside and they would have just made them that way. This falls entirely on the company that put them out for retail purchase.
