As a non-UGA
Mets of the SEC
fan, y'all shouldn't fire Richt unless you're convinced you have someone better in the wings. Then again, UGA fans seem to have over-inflated view of their school's position nationally.

Little jab at the Gators (and SEC in general) who like to refer to themselves as that.

Wait, seriously? I lived there for most of my life, and I never heard that.

Emory, eh, sure. Vandy? Sort of. Some of those smaller schools like Wake Forest and Davidson? Pretty good schools. Anyone else? No no no no no.

eh? maybe in cheating but other than that no way that can be taken seriously.

BTW,

UCF wins their bowl game
USF wins their bowl game
FIU wins their bowl game

UM gets blown out. terrific.

Dook is the best southern school IMO. There was a guy here (woof woof) who called UGA the Harvard of the South. Never really heard anyone refer to UF as Harvard of the South, unless it was sarcastic.

Yeah...somehow I miss the best school in the south by a healthy margin. I'm tired, and it's New Year's Eve.

I'm sure attitudes have changed a little, but, when I was in High School, Emory and Vanderbilt were considered borderline safety schools if you were looking to go to an Ivy League/Duke/Stanford/MIT.

Georgia is Harvard in the way that you actually have to be cognizant to get in, unlike Auburn.

UGA's admission standards went waaaaaaaaaaay up in the mid 90s. My class was the last one to get in on the easy old standards. Now the average SAT of the incoming UGA freshman is like 1300 or some shit.

Fixed. And I hope that isn't out of 2400.

It used to be C's would be fine, but it became B's. I know because I was shocked some kids in my school didn't get into UGA, so they went to Ole Miss, Bama, LSU, and Auburn.

Nobody went to Florida. These kids and their petty hatred.

UF calls themselves the Harvard of the South, yes. Urban also have claimed they have the "top 1% of the 1%." There are many reasons to hate the Florida Gators.

What part of Florida do you hail from, Liam?

Mid 2000s? No sir, the big admissions standards bump came in 1995/1996. By the late 90s, you needed to have an SAT of at least 1200 or so and extracurriculars or you weren't getting in. Did it go up even higher in 2005?

Edit: Did the SATs change or something? The average SAT score I am quoting is from the last time i heard what it was, probably in 2000 or so.

I don't know personally 'cause I think I was pre-accepted, but I know kids in my grade were complaining that the GPA reqs had taken a bump to somewhere in the low-mid 3s.

And, yeah, there are 3 sections of SAT now (Verbal, Math, and Writing) for a total of 2400 points.

Damn, when did that happen? The figure I am quoting was from the 1600 days.

Vandy, Duke, Rice, Tulane, USF, Ole Miss (Ole fucking Miss!) all pop up on the first few pages. No Florida.

I'm guessing you're confusing USF and UF, since USF actively called itself that.
Only time I've seen uf referred to like that in any formal format was a book from the 90s about how to get into ivy league schools and Florida. I don't know the exact title, but I think that is the origin.

These SC uniforms are such an eyesore, especially compared to FSU's digs.

The 90s called. They want the unnecessary piping on jerseys back.

I can't believe Garcia's only a junior. Feel like he's been throwing picks and getting in fights with bouncers since I was 10.

Also, whoever the ad sales guy is for the Chick-Fil-A Bowl that came up with those ad stands on the sidelines needs to be fired. Players are going to be running into that shit all day.

South Carolina forgets how to play offense when Lattimore goes out. See: Kentucky game.

And Garcia's confidence looks shot to hell based on that last drive. He had a receiver up top on a wheel route, but he didn't even give the right sideline a glance. Doug Johnson-esque.

Bad QBs. Why are there so many of them?!

3 turnovers and not even the end of the 1st Q :lol

They're lucky to only be down 6-0
Should be 4. Annoyed at that play being called dead.

Offense is going to get a TD here. Ponder will take a shot at 6 on the next play IMO.

I just threw up a little bit in my mouth. I hated the Doug Johnson days back in the day at Florida.

You're right. It's like they have no idea how to play football which is totally frustrating when you realize they are capable of so much more. But we usually have several of these crap games a year so we'll see how this goes.
