At least she forgot the U and not the O...

I knew i something was off on that sign. Was dozing off when i saw it. SEC academics!

Just playing devil's advocate, but maybe the poster writer put the ESPN in there but when filling things in ran out of space after having written the "C" and "O" and had to squeeze the "U" to fit it in before the N due to not having left enough white space before the N. One would have to fool around with the size of the lettering to get the ESPN logo to line up vertically anyway. But maybe I'm trying to hard and should just accept that she made a spelling error....whatever :-p

It's so stupid that classes were cancelled because of a Thursday night football game.
Not really. Well, cancelling afternoon and evening classes is understandable. They either had to do that or prohibit tailgating/parking on campus.

The article I read gave me the impression that classes were cancelled for the entire day. My fault then for reading the single article.

ETA: it seems an extra day was added to the academic schedule.

I have no idea how much class was cancelled, I was just pointing out that I can easily understand the logistical necessities of cancelling the afternoon/evening classes.

I seem to recall Bama also cancelling classes and adding an additional day when we had a Thursday game for some reason.

Yeah, I can understand it as well from a logistical point of view. We never ran into the issue at Arkansas since any time we had a Thursday game it would be in Little Rock (which I hated) instead of Fayetteville.

Yeah, classes being cancelled is a must otherwise you more than likely would have a logistical nightmare for classes and the gameday crowd.

UCF has a weekday game and they cancelled classes after 12pm for that day. It is known well in advance (months and months) and unless a professor is incompetent can can't integrate that lost 1-3 hours of lecture throughout the rest of the semester, it really isn't a big deal.

We had a Thursday game at FSU when I was a sopmore in 2003. They gave us a 'fall break'. Thursday and Friday off. They needed to shut the school down on Thursday because most of the administration and a few of the colleges are built into the stadium. So there'd be nowhere for students and faculty to park and if they worked then athletics couldn't prep the stadium. Friday though, that was just gratuitous.

Did they now?

LSU's dline doesnt look nearly as good as it did vs Oregon. Is Miss St line that good or is Oregons line that bad?
MSU has a decent O-line, but they're also missing 1 starter tonight and had another injured (though I'm not sure if he came back, #67).

@strikerobi: I know, I just couldn't resist. :p

AAAARGH! I can't take those stupid pom poms anymore. It just sounds like static coming through the TV. It's downright grating.

Oh, and the cowbells. The cowbells.

A pox on whoever inspired such awful noise.

Awful call. MSU is doing nothing on offense without LSU committing penalties. The worst thing LSU can do is give them good field position.
