Columbus cop gets a glass sandwich

Well yes I'm serious in questioning if it was intentional. I've never heard of this happening, so wtf. Is this a thing people do? Maybe my phrasing of "any the wiser" was poor choice but I'm being sincere in questioning whether or not it was intentional.
There is no way I can imagine someone accidentally making a sandwich with glass in it.

Not the way to solve what ?

I suppose it's my own take and assumption on it but it didn't sound like a personal attack and more like an escalation of recent citizen/police issues within this country.

Perhaps I'm wrong and it is something personally against that officer but in any case whatever issue the perpetrator had with that officer or the police force in general, this solution/response, "a glass sandwich", is not going to solve it and only make things worse.

I guess the other option is just a crazy person though, hadn't thought of that.

Shards of glass on a sandwich don't happen by accident.

Reminds me of when I was a kid. Ate a bagel and it had a few screw shards inside it and it cut up the inside of my mouth.

But that was metal, which didn't snap into smaller shards when I bit down on it...so this is much worse :(

I mean, what kind of establishment is it? Who knows if the ingredients on the sandwich were just carelessly pulled from a crate straight from the distributor? Maybe the glass got in before shipment to said establishment??

Or maybe it was just a fucked up deli-worker, like Occam's Razor would dictate. Shit's fucked.

...how does that happen?

Wait there was metal in the bagel?

That actually has a more realistic chance of being an accident even if it isn't high. Automated machine to make the dough has something break and is mixed into dough and isn't found until it's already cooked into bread....

My reading comprehension is fail tonight.

I hope that officer is ok and they get to the bottom of this. If foul play throw the book at them.

I wonder if this is why a lot of cops tend to be regulars at certain places only, because they are worried fast food places (high employee turnover) will do gross shit like pee and spit in their food.

No mercy to whoever did this, catch them and throw them in jail for attempted murder.

I'm no cop or anything, but when I was in college I ordered French toast from a local diner and when I poured out the powdered sugar (from a separate small cup they served me) several long shards of glass came out. I saw light reflect off of one when I had my fork raised for the first bite. I was really shaken up and didn't eat out for days afterwards.

Can't imagine if I had actually taken a bite like this poor fellow. Hope he has a speedy recovery and they catch the jackass.

It is starting to feel like a civil war at this point.

Police officers are becoming super afraid of simply doing their job, and the public is super scared of the police.

In both instances it is probably less then 1% from both sides causing all the discontent, but in a country of 300 million people, that is a ton of violence.

The more on edge the police feel, the more likely they are to make poor decisions.

This shit is escalating, and we really need to stop demonizing one faction or the other.

Here is my question. How can the cook not have noticed glass in the sandwich? Man this is just screwed up.

Well the cook does not typically serve the food. The process of creating a meal goes through a few different hands before it reaches the customer.

This shit gets said every thread and it's so dumb I shouldn't even address it. But the only Civil War you'll see in America will be in dollar theaters and out soon on DVD.

Fucking sucks for the officer and I hope they're alright. Thankfully the offender should be caught soon, or at least I would hope. Can only be so many people working at that restaurant at the time of the incident.

A race war is maybe a more accurate idea. The Civil War was more extreme and involved states going to war with each other. Civil War is hyperbole, and even race war is hyperbole, but this seems to be escalating daily.

I hope they find that guy and put him in prison for at least 10 years.

Would be way worse if he swallowed them though. As you could be looking at cuts in the esophagus, stomach and intestines...

a nurse explained me that it's actually not very likely to get internal cuts (except esophagus of course) from swallowed glass pieces as the sharp edges get radiused(sp?) by the stomach acid. also the stomach wall is tough as hell.
most cuts and punctures happen in the bowles through swallowed needle-like metal pieces (grillbrushes!)

and yes, I did eat glass (accidentally). thankfully it left my body normally the next day without any harm done

So, are they not naming the restaurant because it's "alleged" or because they don't want some kind of bad stuff going down at the location in protest or whatever?

Glass is no joke. I'd never even heard of this as a method of getting at someone until I saw the first season of Oz, and even then I thought no one would be that messed up irl.

Person that did this is hopefully caught and stays locked away for a long time. What a horrible thing to do to another human

I don't think there's been anything significantly linked enough to break the point of Frequency Illusion yet. People in the food industry fucking with a cop's order isn't exactly an avant garde idea either.

Now, I get what you're getting at with the idea of violence against cops but a race war this is not. And again, there simply hasn't been a significant through-line to prove any links between these or other incidents at scale.

I thought "glass sandwich" was a phrase for something else and not actually glass in a eatable sandwich... Terrible. Hope the person/s who did this gets caught. Clearly not an accident if it was filled with several peices of glass

That's not the way to solve anything.

Hope he's okay.

Wow, hope the culprit gets caught.

Save these posts until we even know if this was intentional.

Probably because they are checking to see if this was an accident or a crime. If an accident, I'd expect a hefty lawsuit. If intentional, then shut that shit down and arrest all involved.

This makes me glad I prepare all my own food.

And people need to stop jumping the gun, the setup for most places for the person handling the food to know who the food was going to they usually would be right in front of the customer.

Gonna guess if not an accident it was just some sick fuck and the cop happened to get it.

Could be wrong but I'll wait until there is more info.

I understand what you are saying, but would you not agree that in the last two weeks we have seen three major instances of African Americans going on killing sprees targeting white police officers?

And crazy ass killing sprees has totally been a white male disenchanted youth thing for the past two decades.

So the police are more scared for their lives, and nutsos are seeing these attacks and are inspired by them. Which leads to everyone acting the fool, and potentially more cops with itchy trigger fingers. It just perpetuates itself.

I read this book when I was kid about someone killing someone else by putting powder fine glass in a hamburger. The logic was that the glass would cause tons of internal bleeding. Been nightmare fuel ever since, even though I know that likely wouldn't kill you.

I cannot say this in any more clearly: This is not a growing race war. This is not a growing civil war.

What specific incidences are you referring to? Can you elaborate because I might be out of the loop on what you're referring to here.

Outside of that, I think you're really clinging to stereotypes as fact here. Killing sprees aren't a "thing" reserved for a race, creed, gender, or otherwise. Bad people do bad things. If you're saying that because of recent events cops are more trigger happy around minorities? Well, that's been the case for years. The recent events don't explain that.

I am not sure how to respond.

Do you not feel that there is a connection between recent stories of police violence towards minorities, and a backlash where minorities are targeting white police officers?

No way whoever did this gets away with it. What a fucking idiot. Glad the guy is OK. Man oh man some people are stupid.

^ accident? Thats a pretty big fuck up.
