Okay, voting for the next book has begun. This time there's about two weeks to vote, so plenty of time to finish Chew / decide on a series. The nominees are

1. Scalped (Vol. 1)

Scalped is a critically acclaimed 60 issue crime/western comic book series written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by R. M. Guéra, published monthly by Vertigo Comics.

The series focuses on the Oglala Lakota inhabitants of the fictional Prairie Rose Indian Reservation in modern-day South Dakota as they grapple with organized crime, rampant poverty, drug addiction and alcoholism, local politics and the preservation of their cultural identity.

2. The Umbrella Academy (Vol. 1 / The Apocalpyse Suite)

Gerard Way, of My Chemical Romance, makes his comics writing debut in this outrageous superhero epic that Grant Morrison called "An ultraviolet psychedelic sherbet bomb of wit and ideas. The superheroes of the 21st century are here at last..." In an inexplicable, worldwide event, forty-seven extraordinary children were spontaneously born by women who'd previously shown no signs of pregnancy. Millionaire inventor Reginald Hargreeves adopted seven of the children; when asked why, his only explanation was, "To save the world." These seven children form The Umbrella Academy, a dysfunctional family of superheroes with bizarre powers. Their first adventure at the age of ten pits them against an erratic and deadly Eiffel Tower, piloted by the fearsome zombie-robot Gustave Eiffel. Nearly a decade later, the team disbands, but when Hargreeves unexpectedly dies, these disgruntled siblings reunite just in time to save the world once again.

3. Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds.

Superstar writer Geoff Johns and legendary artist George Perez deliver the Crisis of the 31st century as the Legion of Super- Heroes reaches out for help against a powerful foe they can't beat alone! From the moment Superman landed on Earth until the end of time, the Time Trapper has sought to erase Superman's impact on the universe. But the Legion of Super-Heroes have always been there to stop the relentless villain. Now, one Legion isn't enough as the Time Trapper taps a twisted mirror image of The Boy of Steel from a parallel Earth long dead: Superboy-Prime! Who will answer the Legion's call for help? With ties to INFINITE CRISIS, FINAL CRISIS and the history of the DCU, this tremendous miniseries is not to be missed.

If you'd like to add a suggestion, please PM me. From now on I will be collecting all suggestions and using them at random, rather than just asking for 3 new ones every few weeks. Makes it a bit easier for everyone to get their choice in!

You might be better off making a new thread.

Regardless, my vote is The Umbrella Academy.

I really think we should do a cape book after this, though preferably not one that has Superboy-Prime in it.

I'll toss my vote to The Umbrella Academy. I've always wanted to see how Gerard Way fared as a writer since I first heard about this and the Fabulous Killjoys comic.

Oh Jeez, Umbrella Academy or Scaled, that's a hard one. I reread Scalped recently though,so I'll go with The Umbrella Academy. Gives me an excuse to reread that craziness, and seeing that beautiful art will get me pumped for the BPRD Vampire trade coming out soon.

I'll think about it, just unsure if the mods will find it annoying making so many threads.

Certainly! I've got some suggestions, but feel free to PM me any you'd like to see.

SCALPED

Seriously awesome. Imagine an AMC or HBO crime drama (just choose one or two and you'll get the vibe) on a reservation.

It's AS good as the best tv.

Looks like Scalped is going to win. Even though I suggested it, I will vote for Umbrella Academy instead since that is the only one of the three I have not read.

You should just start a new voting thread next month though.
