Inc. is cool and all but it's kiiinda racist at times. Especially wrt to its depiction of the Middle East, but it looks like Mieville is taking issue with Man of Bats.

They should let Manapul draw whatever the hell he wants. For my money he and Reis are the best in the biz.
If Mieville takes issue with Man of Bats, he either didn't read or appreciate the Man of Bats issue from Batman Inc. #7 from before the New 52. That was a surprisingly heartfelt description of life on a Native American reservation.
Joe Mad is a great artist, but man, he really does not care ONE bit about details. Ultimates 3 proved that he barely even knew the Ultimate universe was different than 616, and judging by Wolverine apparently towering over Spidey, he doesn't care there either.

Moore knew full well how messed up the Golliwog is--it's still being sold today in stores. And remember that Moore DELIBERATELY was showing the original versions of fictional characters, i.e. Bond being a mysoginistic rapist, as he was back in the early books. Racist depictions of characters were still part of fiction, whether we like it or not.
