In the right hands a Commander Keen game could work, like WayForward.

Me and a coworker were just talking about how awful this reboot looked.

Wayforward would be a great fit for the franchise. I wonder if Bethesda is out on the series as a whole, I hope not. A new action side scroller with a nice budget (like Rayman Legends) could be pretty awesome, but Bethesda is gon' Bethesda
