Agreed, I would probably take Switch out of the dock once, and that would be to check for scratches.
They won't focus on true home console for a few reasons.
They want to make as much profit as possible and so they go for cost friendly (to them) hardware.
They can sell mediocre hardware to unsophisticated consumers who will go for novelty gimmicks over raw power.
They can't get big third parties to make games for their systems and hence those "power" gamers won't even bother.
When I saw that Switch presentation I gave up on them (and Sony) and went and got a gaming PC. I'll borrow something for the few Nintendo games I want and I can play Zelda on Wii U
