Conservative Teen Magazine

For some reason it seems like the theconservativeteen.com is now pointed at the SPCA? Google has cached some of the pages, like the full Table of Contents here, but neither the full digital link or the buy a copy link work. They've also cached the 'we didn't get enough subscriptions to do a real run of issue 1' page...

It's here! A new magazine for teens who don't want to have sex, preferring to spend their time looking down on government help for the poor while reminiscing about Reagan.

This line is giving me serious doubts about whether its legitimate or not.

This mag is weird propaganda sure. I've never understood the hate for the abstinence argument though. If you don't wanna have kids the most surefire way to do it is by not having sex. Not the world's fault you can't keep it in your pants.

The hate is when the right makes it the only education possible when it comes to sex, thus depriving teens of information about condoms and stds. People and teens are going to have sex, provide them with the proper information to keep them from getting pregnant and getting diseases.

Because it doesn't work. Places with abstinence-only programs seem to have more pregnant teens.

Looks like the PC police got to this cartoonist too. He had to practically draw Reagan as a white guy just so people wouldn't cry racism.

Holy shit. Just saw the OP. That magazine is just oozing in racist bullshit.

Yup. Abstinence education often implies that bodies and sex are nasty and shameful, too. Sex negative, body hate bullshit.

This is the funniest thing to come out of Conservapedia:

The Conservapedia page then lists 30 counterexamples to general relativity, any of which, it claims, "shows that the theory is incorrect". Many of these are bizarre, such as "the action-at-a-distance by Jesus, described in John 4:46-54." Apparently, Jesus's ability to instantaneously heal a child from a distance – his healing powers travelled through space faster than the speed of light – was evidence enough to rule out Einstein's theory.

It doesn't work. The will to have sex will always be present in teenagers. That's a want that can't be diminished. Expecting teens to use protection without prior education on the subject matter is begging for unwanted pregnancies.

For fucks sake!

Civil Rights in the Reagan-Bush Years

President Reagan announced his 1980 candidacy in Neshoba County, Mississippi, voting to fight federal encroachment on states' rights--an obvious euphemism, in that context, for the Civil Rights Acts. True to his word, President Reagan vetoed the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1988, which required government contractors to address racial employment disparities in their hiring practices; Congress overrode his veto with a two-thirds majority. His successor, President George Bush, would struggle with, but ultimately choose to sign, the Civil Rights Act of 1991.

Presidential veto overridden

The build up to what was to become the Comprehensive Anti-Apartheid Act of 1986 can be traced to Archbishop Desmond Tutu who visited the United States in 1984. This visit occurred after President Reagan’s comfortable re-election. Speaking on Capitol Hill Tutu delivered a speech, declaring “constructive engagement is an abomination, an unmitigated disaster.”… “In my view, the Reagan administration’s support and collaboration with it is equally immoral, evil, and totally un-Christian.”[11] This speech was the turning point for the Reagan administration, and also the beginning of the end of “Constructive Engagement”. In April 1985 President Reagan came under attack from within the Republican Party itself. The Republican majority in the Senate voted 89-4 on a resolution condemning Apartheid.[12]
In October 1986, the United States Congress overrode President Reagan's veto of the Comprehensive Anti-Apartheid Act (the Senate vote was 78 to 21, the House vote was 313 to 83), despite objections by conservative Representatives such as Dick Cheney, who noted that Nelson Mandela was the head of an organization that the State Department had deemed "terrorist".[13] In the week leading up to the vote, President Reagan appealed to members of the Republican Party for support, but as Senator Lowell P. Weicker, Jr. would state, "For this moment, at least, the President has become an irrelevancy to the ideals, heartfelt and spoken, of America."[14] The legislation, which banned all new U.S. trade and investment in South Africa, also refused South African Airways flights from landing at U.S. airports. This legislation was seen as a catalyst for similar sanctions in Europe and Japan, and signalled the end of the constructive engagement policy.

He literally supported a racist anti-black government!

I agree. Some people just have no self control.

Sex Ed is really strange too. A great analogy; if Driver's Ed was taught like Sex Ed, we wouldn't have drivers. In Driver's Ed, you're actually driving; you're not spending weeks on end learning about the theory of combustion, what pistons are in relation to the engine, how axles work, etc. That's precisely what Sex Ed is. This how a penis works. Here's how a vagina works. That's it. Its really a biology course more than anything. I'm not arguing that students should be fucking in class, but topics should include a helluva lot more than how we operate biologically.

I refused to believe that Conservapedia was real, but I was unfortunately mistaken.

Wow. I just . . . wow. I looked around that Conservapedia a bit.

Man, they are just driving themselves off a cliff if they want to insist that "Conservative = deny basic science".

They go Godwin on evolution ON THEIR MAIN PAGE!

The evolutionary racist Adolf Hitler wrote in his work Mein Kampf: "The stronger must dominate and not blend with the weaker, thus sacrificing his own greatness. Only the born weakling can view this as cruel, but he, after all, is only a weak and limited man; for if this law did not prevail, any conceivable higher development (Hoherentwicklung) of organic living beings would be unthinkable."[3] See: Question evolution! campaign and 15 questions for evolutionists and Evolution

Of course the irony is that their economic views are the most social Darwinistic as possible!

Is that they way they really want to go? You gotta be anti-science to be 'conservative'? Wow.

My favorite thing about Conservapedia is there's apparently a big movement on it to link obesity with atheism.

plainly awesome, im surprised no one has thought of this before. Fight fire with fire.

Its like abercrombie and fitch but in print form! Reagan might not have been our first black president, but he was our first real celebrity president. Take that Hussein Obama.

I'm in for the magazine, but I refuse to believe that Conservapedia thing is real.

It's a case of Poe's Law in action - the editors are a mix of trolls and true believers. The content they produce is similar to the point where there's significant infighting.

It's our God given right. If I'm not having sex how do i know I'm even alive? How do i even know?

This just reminds me of how much I hate campus Republicans in college. They're always the worst group of people who do things in extremely obnoxious public ways to piss everyone off.
