I'm here. And I'm not insane, but people would like to paint me with that brush. I keep it low key. I don't go to threads and go "holy shit" at things not worth holy shitting about, etc. Conservative-GAF is pretty quiet and low key.
Completely exist - just a lot of socially conservative ideologies don't gel with GAF culture - so those people get banned often. And a lot of fiscally conservative ideologies are stupid, so those people don't last long in debates and tend to hide out afterward.
The smart/reasonable conservative gaffers do okay, and are actually well liked in some circles - as they provide some back and forth as opposed to an echo chamber.

This is also correct. A conservative can debate and post just fine on Gaf, but your posts will be more scrutinized by others because you are outnumbered.

Social conservatives usually get the Ban Hammer because gay bashing, sexist talk, racism and stuff like that is against the TOS. So arguing social conservatism is like a high wire act, it has nothing to do with being outnumbered.

Almost all conservative thinking people I know are either assholes, bad people, ignorant or stupid. Very few times I meet one that makes me feel like they are not all the same. Hope I meet some here!

Not really. We have people like Duffyside who are outspokenly pro-life. We have Mclaren and several other GAFers who are anti gay-marriage. It only becomes a problem if your position is held for arguably hateful reasons.
Acceptable: "I do not support gay marriage because I feel marriage should only exist to promote child-rearing" (granted this argument could get torn apart)
Not Acceptable: "I do not support gay marriage, because gays are disgusting."

I'm actually worried. Biden doesnt even need substance to win this i think tonight. he could just give a ton of one liners at Ryan and nerdize him to the populace. a little passion from Biden has me worried.
Our kind are few and far between in general. Would be a better world if more of us existed. Until then, I vote Democrat because I hate the GOP's social platform more than I hate the liberal spending (though I do think even that's overblown).

Legislating morality by government force is an inappropriate way to govern. Many do not agree with me on that, unfortunately.

Fiscal conservatives are usually fine though, I mean the few fiscal conservatives I knew on GAF only ever got banned for abortion stuff or just straight up trolling threads. Or in Kosmo's case being GAF's version of The Joker.

I dunno, I think I've found the opposite in my personal life.
That's why I think it's harmful to judge political ideologies solely off the people who represent them.

I'm not down the line though, some of my positions are all over the map. As a matter of fact I did that "where do you fall politically" thing the other day that people were doing, where it gives you a chart and all of that, and I actually fell on the more liberal side for whatever reason. No clue how that happened.

What does it mean to you? I've never seen anything "socially conservative" that doesn't involve trying to keep someone in their place or telling them how they should or shouldn't act.
Also, all of you people saying that you're "fiscally conservative," what does that mean to you? Are you just saying that you are against wasteful spending? Who isn't?
