Sweet ads for sure. Colorful when they need to be. Simple and direct when showing off the system.

Slick as fuck.

Design and marketing for this thing are on point, I know I'm beating a dead horse, but it's leagues above what the Wii U got.

Splatoon is the biggest console game of this gen.

Splatoon 2 having local ad hoc play could be massive. Like Monster Hunter massive.

Yeah I was thinking about the Monster Hunter local multiplayer phenomenon and how that might affect Splatoon.

mother of god. i hadn't thought about that at all. i mean, i'd totally thought "it's nuts a game revolving around online multi did this well in japan," but i hadn't gone on to see the switch possibility yet.

welp. splatoon gonna see some gen-over-gen growth if spla2n really does have good local options.

Beautiful. This thing is going to be a huge hit there, I can feel it.

I really hope I'm right because Japan desperately needs a successful console again

Nintendo is going to invest a lot resources into Splatoon 2 now that they're confident in the IP. Same as they did with Fire Emblem Awakenings.

They really should continue to take more risks with new IPs and strengthen some of their old, forgotten ones.

I like how in 2017 we'll see all of the old guard (Mario Kart, Smash, Zelda, 3D Mario), making way for possible new IPs and potentially forgotten faces in 2018 and beyond.

Japan is going to jump on Switch pretty hard with Splatoon, DQXI, and Pokémon if that's true/comes out this year.
Hopefully it gets at least a port of the next MH because it should be pretty perfect for it
The ads are pretty good though marketing a game a few months out is a bit weird. Earliest is June
Though at least they're marketing the system at all. They better push it as hard as they can year one if they ever want more 3rd party support

We already have ARMS coming, so there's that.

It's obviously not guaranteed but there is a ton of potential there. I can definitely see it having a big effect once it shows up on playgrounds.
