Crysis 2 PS3 Demo Releasing Today

Anyway, here's the PS3 / 360 version comparison with some contrast applied to the PS3 version. What's interesting is how much detail pops out when the contrast is adjusted. The PS3 version actually looks more detailed than the 360 version in certain areas. Also, notice that the PS3 version has a wall with a brick texture up ahead while the 360 version doesn't.
Based on that shot the PS3 version does a number of things better. Better lighting (see the pipes), better textures, softer shadows and better AF. But that is only one shot.

I think they just pulled it? Me and MemoryCure were playing a game and it just all of a sudden went black and now i cant connect back. Shame.

Temporal AA (has a ghosting effect on objects that are moving) for close to medium range (look at the electric fans on Skyline for a clear example) over use of bloom and brightness in general combined with the lower resolution. Just curious, but are the other demos on the other systems still available? As far as I know, the PC demo is still working, and it releases the same day. For the PS3 demo to shutdown 2 days after release is fucking ridiculous. You're defending something that doesn't make sense.KingOfKong said:

These issues has been happening since the PC demo, but instead of having a choice to pick the best room/server (by looking at the ping), PS3 users are forced into random matchmaking rooms not best for their connections. 2 weeks later, and the demo is more broken than on 360 and PC. Not only that, but theres just a few days left to make the decision to buy the game day 1. I'd be just as pissed but at least I had my chance to play on PC, not everyone else is as fortunate.

I have a question has there been a demo thats been this poorly handled in recent memory? Seriously though if any expected the PS3 version to be up to par they were fooling themselves. Crytek pulled a "Bayonetta" with the PS3 version of Crysis 2 which is show it at the last possible moment to hide the fact that they couldn't get the game up to speed on the PS3.

Ok don´t know all the bitching with the game in PS3 in runs fine, it isn´t the tecnhical marvel that CRYTEK preached but it still looks good and plays fine so i am down with it.

earlier today I had 30 mins before I had to get back to work and thought hey let me give Crysis 2 some more play time......well spent about 25 mins repeatedly pushing "x" trying to get into a game while dosing off here and there....spent the last five getting one match of Mortal Kombat in. So yeah it is disappointing when it doesn't work. It didn't work for me when I tried the PC demo weeks ago either, gave up on that.
I did get into a couple of games last night though on the PS3...graphics don't look good to me when you are outside and the framerate doesn't help...but inside, some stuff looks really good. Gameplay seems fun though, which can still rescue the game for many.

i had the chance to play the demo this morning on my playstation 3.
The game feels and plays like expected. I didnt like what i played. The Sluggish gunplay and the stuttering framerate are the most disappointing aspects of the demo.
The graphics are on par with the most beautiful ps3 titles, killzone and uncharted. Crysis 2 is a really good looking game. Of course several steps behind the PC Version, but what do expect from a 5 year old console?

This is just another cowadudie clone. Dont get me wrong, i love black ops, but why should i play a (imo) inferior clone when i can have the original instead? So in conclusion, i think, crysis 2 will be an amazing single player shooter experience, but the multiplayer will be short lived and probably the player base will dry out soon.

Just played about 15 minutes of the demo. Wow. Just wow. One of the single worst FPS's I've ever played. You could tell me this was a $15 budget game and I'd be embarrassed by it.
- Horrible muddied graphics.
- Generic, why even bother sound.
- Horrible hot boxes and awful gunplay.
- Tiny, boring maps.
I had more fun with the demo of Modern Combat Domination.

Whores of the graphics need stay far far away from this game on consoles and maybe even the PC depending on how they treat that version (surely is not worth a day one purchase on gameplay alone). There will be those who love this somehow--Can't imagine you'd pay 60 dollars for this-- and there will be those that really see what is wrong here. This kind of game happens when you start with one system in mind and develop for that one system and then decide to port this to all manner of different systems without even giving the time it needs on that first system. That one system is the 360 and its limitations are painfully obvious. I'm sorry, I have owned every console this gen and I plan on getting a PC but this is one sorry excuse for a technical marvel. Whatever you think there is just no debating how awful this game looks at times, mostly because of the resolution and AA, if that is what you call it because I don't see much going on at all, and there is no debate here. Don't even try with the lighting or this and that. This shit is awful dude.
For the asking price of 60 dollars this game fails in every way possible. Directly going from this and back to KZ3 is seriously like going from my bud's loaded PC to my PS3 on a game like Fallout or something akin to that. It was preposterous to even compare the two, most of us knew that, but now those comparisons truly look like the work of serious retards. We all know KZ3 has problems. Yes. But damn if this game was talked up to be the holy grail and how the fuck it fails to impress after all that is beyond me. This game blows. That is my opinion. Beware. I do like some things it does (really, I'm trying) but no no no.
