-------[INFO]-------

From the makers of Far Cry, Crysis offers FPS fans the best-looking, most highly-evolving
gameplay, requiring the player to use adaptive tactics and total customization of weapons
and armor to survive in dynamic, hostile environments including Zero-G.

Earth, 2019. A team of US scientists makes a frightening discovery on an island in the
South China Sea. All contact with the team is lost when the North Korean Government
quickly seals off the area. The United States responds by dispatching an elite team of Delta
Force Operators to recon the situation. As tension rises between the two nations, a
massive alien ship reveals itself in the middle of the island. The ship generates an
immense force sphere that freezes a vast portion of the island and drastically alters the
global weather system. Now the US and North Korea must join forces to battle the alien
menace. With hope rapidly fading, you must fight epic battles through tropical jungle,
frozen landscapes, and finally into the heart of the alien ship itself for the ultimate Zero G
showdown.

So pumped. Having trouble deciding what to spend my money on though. Hate to say it but I think UT3 is gonna have to wait for a bit.

:lol At the box, too.

Since this is a Crysis thread, I feel obligated to point out that my PC is too feeble to run it.

Come on guys, it's usually in the first 5 replies.

$10,000 PC!?:lol

That won't be enough, you'll need Quad SLI/XFire + 40GB of RAM to play this on 800x600, not to mention a 5kWatt Power supply to make those parts move!

Chicken Hunting is no fucking joke dude. Those fuckers are mean.
Woah. Your first screen was funny, but in this shot the chicken looks pretty fucking serious. It's almost as if there's two different chickens.

Reviews have their own threads, I'd like to keep all the people who have no intention to play the game but want to chime in on review scores anyway out of this one.

Just pre-ordered this. My system should run this fine, since it's past the recommended specs.

I've been playing on Geforce 7900 and it's been running fine on medium with some settings on high.

I will go out tomorrow and get a 8800GT. For $269 it's worth it considering the amount of good PC games at the moment.

Please give your specs and a rundown of performance in the retail build compared to the demo.

Man, I really do want to play this.

I wonder what the ETA on nVidia's next generation of cards is at this point? I'd rather not buy into a new PC until one exists that can handle Crysis without really struggling at all. Fortunately there are tons of great games out right now so the experience will be sweeter down the road.

My current PC handles it fine at medium (with some settings on high), but it just doesn't look good enough after seeing it on a high-end PC. I must resist until that point. :p

Btw, when are the new nVidia cards coming out? I'm getting rid of my 8800GTX in the next few days and I'm interested in knowing when the next big thing is coming.

You're getting rid of it? For how much?

ok played it for about 2 hours, playing it on delta so ive not gotten too far yet.

performance for me is now way up, just updated to todays freshly released crysis drivers 169.09 ( was running 163.71 for the demo ) and running

c2d e6600 @ 3.6ghz
2gb
8800gts 640mb @ 648/1550/2050 ( clocked it a bit more for crysis )

going off a spot in the demo where i was getting 32fps with all settings on high, im now getting 44fps so very nice improvement and it generally seems a lot smoother, i checked task manager on the other screen and cpu usage now hovers between 60-80% for both cores all the time.

onto the game itself, well i love it and if it continues like this it will be my game of the year, ive actually died a few times on purpose so i could replay a section and try a different method of approach, the ai is still a bit weird and seems to have 2 modes awesome or shit :D it'll either start flanking, fall back and take over or it'll just stand there and sometimes even turn its back on you.

graphically theres not much to say that hasn't been said a thousand times before, i swear the graphics will add about 2 hours of playtime for me as i just walk around gawking at the beautiful scenery.

I'm wondering about this too. Last I heard, new GTS comes out on 12/03, but I haven't heard anything since.

High settings is very playable. Very High murders my machine. (10fps-15fps)

Vista x64
C2D @ 3.6Ghz
4GB DDR800 (4-4-4-15-2T)
8800GTX @ Stock

In the tweakin' link there is an upcoming Ultra High config pack or whatnot. Wonder how great it'll look with AA/AF and running 60fps+ smooth.

My 1-month old, $900 machine doesn't have chance in heck of playing this game right?

2gb ram

Windows XP 32

Tried the demo. It runs at 20fps on my brand new quad core with 8800 GTS 640 on high settings. The game is a major disappointment to me. In the demo, it's exactly like Far Cry, just better looking and you can destroy more environment. The control doesn't feel all that great especially in the water, and the suit stuff doesn't do that much good.

Sorry, no buy.

It can, but don't expect it to look like the screenshots. A lot of hardware can run the game, you just have to make sacrifices. Some people have to make more than others.
