Crytek: "For 300,000 signatures we might release TimeSplitters HD collection"

Metal Gear?!?

The one that is still going for the release price 7 months after the release? The Sony HD Collections, Devil May Cry and Metal Gear have remained high price relatively long in the country that is Bombaville UK and the EU. There are last month full releases that are cheaper now than Metal Gear.

No word on what the potential platforms would be? More then likely just PS3/360 if this was ever done as Crytek has expressed no outward interest in developing on the Wii U?

Yup. No sign from me. :(

This. considering that i'm probably buying a new console and it's probably going to be WiiU.

Ohhh, "might" and a petition!

It's sad to me that we have to justify the existence of a TimeSplitters. In the best of worlds, quality justifies its existence. One day we'll have to get a reboot. Because it's just that good. Right?

testing the waters to test the waters? I wouldn't mind an HD remake but at this point fuck the sequel. Yerli's out of touch with what Timesplitters is about and what fans want out of a sequel and he's been completely wasting the incredible talent he picked up so if there ever is a sequel, it's guaranteed to be awful

it took longer to make this post than it would've taken you to fill out the petition. there's even a slot where you could've begged for a wii u version. thanks a lot

SIGNED

I'll buy it, but release it on PC as well!

i will never forget those local virus multiplayer sessions.. timesplitters 2 was amazing! hd port is all i want.. i don't even need online multiplayer

So signed!

I still remember playing against bots in the second one and using the flamethrower to burn women – the screams were awesome.

Also, if you used it on a snowman he would say “I’m melting!” Fun times! Having it in HD with online included would be God-like....

Added my signature just so my fellow gamers will have a chance to experience this game...whatever it is...but I'll be sure to pick it up if it gets a good HD port/treatment.
...and come on guys it needs 250,000 more votes, spread the word~

I made so many fucking maps. I still miss my disco dungeon map.

It was a gothic castle, but there were alcoves you could discover with flashing lights and a dance floor.

I think i had more fun playing split screen on timesplitters than any other fps multilayer game from that era, even preferred it to golden eye.

I had some awesome maps I had made to, damn how I miss this game.
While everyone here is loving 2, my favorite was 3.

The MP was still awesome and the corny Story Mode was still pretty awesome especially in coop.

SEE YA IN THE FUTURE SUCKERS

300,000 is too much for a "we might" but the petition seems to be moving at a decent pace. Maybe we could just have TS2 with online for 100,000. That's the only one I want anyway. No real reason not to have it on Wii-U or PC either.

I don't actually know, just a minnow.

Still feels like there's a lot more hype around HD-remakes than people actually ending up buying and most of all playing them.

I consider Timesplitters is still a pretty niche series, which has for some reason lately gotten a good amount of nostalgia dust on it. Game originally got mediocre reviews and sold in that manner too I guess. Don't know what would make me wanna play it today.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

There's no way this is going to hit 300,000 though. Crytek seems to be asking for a bit much here.

They're not stupid. They realize that 2 out of every 3 signatures are from people who won't actually buy the game at release because they'll be playing an actual new game instead. Another third will buy it at $10 on sale at some point which doesn't help Crytek that much, and the last third will never pick it up despite signing because they just had too many other games to play.

I agree with those bitching about devs/pubs making us jump through hoops, or beg. However, this isn't either one of those things. Facebook likes and twitter subscribes is the kind of bullshit people should be offended by. This is just them gauging public interest on a dead franchise. I'm sure there's market research done on just about every game that comes out these days, even if it's only to form an estimate so that development costs don't exceed projected profits. Also, it takes two seconds to register and sign.

As much as I loved Time Splitter 2, I don't have a huge amount of interest in this if only because the MP is probably going to be local only. I would still buy it though, in hopes of getting a proper sequel.

I think it's stupid that some people are refusing to sign this because it's a "maybe" or because of the usual thing where it's just to get attention, but this isn't like that.

This is so they can see that people are still interested in the franchise, but there would be other things to consider even if they think enough people will buy it. It was started by a fan in the first place so the thing about Devs making us jump through hoops to get things doesn't apply. Would you have preferred it if Crytek had said nothing about this, giving people less of a reason to sign it and therefore less of a chance for the petition being successful?

This was just the CEO saying if there is enough interest, he will see if they can do something about it. It's nothing like the "like us on facebook!" sort of thing devs do all the time. Crytek aren't doing it for their own benefit like they do with those, Crytek aren't the ones who even started the petition - they just commented on it.

Now the people bashing crytek for the "might" just look bad.

Isn't that roughly what each of the games sold?

Not trolling. That's what I'd heard, but I can't find anything online to back it up in a quick search.

Timesplitters sold 0.43M copies on PS2.
TS2 sold 1.78M across all 3 console platforms.
TS3 sold 0.48M across all 3 console platforms.

Timesplitters 2 was definitely the high-water mark for the franchise, mostly because it was awesome, but also because it had an amazing playable demo on OPM, and back then, that was huge. It was like playing Metal Gear in first-person, I played the hell out of that demo, lol.

Oh, and petition is at 59,186 now. Nice to see it still climbing, slowly, but surely.

I don't need the first Timesplitters in HD. But with people just wanting TS2, I disagree. While I undoubtedly love TS2 more than TS3, TS3 still had a ton of wonderful things about it. So I want both TS2 and 3 HD, and if I don't get both, I'll be majorly disappointed.
