Ctrl+Alt+Del (the webcomic. Yes, that one) seems to have finally ended.

Actual defending of sprite comics. I... I can't feel my face...

Most sprite comics suck like no other. Bob and George was like, the first one, though. It was funny when I was a kid, but I haven't been back in ages. 8-Bit Theater is legitimately funny and a good send up of Final Fantasy to boot, though.

I think I've only really laughed at Gunshow.

But don't worry, some morbid curiosity in me seeks out the webcomicsverse at least twice a year to see if anything is good, though mostly because the bad stuff is hilarious in its own right.

*sigh* I miss Lucid TV.

There are plenty of normal people making webcomics. The crazy assholes are just the ones who get the most notoriety because, well, they're crazy assholes.
It's been seven years since I was part of the scene, so things have probably changed since then, but back in the day, you could count the number of well adjusted webcomic creators on the fingers of a single hand that had been in a freak blender accident.

I legitimately lol'd. I gotta read more of this.

Well yeah, of course, the landscape seven years ago was totally different. I'm talking currently. The normal ones are heavily outnumbered, mind, but we exist. I'd probably need to add fingers to my hands to count all the normal webcomic artists I know.

More for my list:

Kate from Hark! A Vagrant
Emmy who does mostly art but also jam comics with Anthony, Matt, etc
Matt from BlueNose
Noelle from Nimona

So far that's 12, not including myself, and I'm sure there are more if we start to include journal comics too. More than are countable on a hand caught in a blender at least :)

he only other notable sprite comic I can mention is Captain SNES: The Game Masta, which is only really good if you 1) can look past some of the SNES nostalgia driving it, 2) ever watched Captain N, and 3) understand that it's been going since 2001 and that the quality has increased slowly but surely over the years.[/B]

Shocked and amazed other people read Captain SNES. thought it deserved another recommendation.

It also sadly only updates about two or three times a month, sometimes less. We'll probably all die of old age before its finished, but its definitely worth the read. While its only kinda funny at times, its actually got a surprisingly decent plot.

The author himself at least acknowledges this point. The fun of Captain SNES is that it doesn't just mock Captain N, but also all other similar cartoons of that era.

Dude, what? No.

Anthony from Nedroid
Ryan from Three Word Phrase
Tyson from Boxer Hockey
KC from Gunshow
Meredith from Octopus Pie
Becky and Frank from Tiny Kitten Teeth
Ryan from Dinosaur Comics
Chris from Dr McNinja

Where would Randall Munroe and Andrew Hussie fall? Munroe seems pretty level-headed. Hussie's a bit weird, but doesn't seem too bad.

The quality of the actual joke in that latest comic is so incredibly low, it makes me want to shake my head.
Go find something else to do, Buckley.

Speaking of sprite comics, someone help me find one. It used all different 8/16-bit sprites and basically made them all perverts and had them ragging on each other constantly. I remember being pretty hilarious.

I don't know them or their work well enough to say. I mean I love me some xkcd but I don't really know / follow the creator, and I've sadly never read MSPaint Adventures but I have heard the creator is a nice guy.

Yes, yes it is.

"I can never stop screaming." just made me LOL so hard.

I fucking love Nedroid so much, it's one of my absolute favorite comics. And Anthony is a deceptively talented artist. Nedroid is this really simply drawn comic, some might even say it's bad art, but the guy can draw and paint like a god.

Why would you call taking a four-day break a reboot?
He rebooted the comic into new characters. I'm not gonna defend him being a disgusting asshole but this much was made very clear - everything with Ethan and the gang is over. Crtl-Alt-Del is now about games again, no more on-going stories or drama or Ethan. I don't know why he'd have to wait any specific amount of time before starting again.

All about games again.

Some MLP stuff.

What.

Wait, the end was a lie?

I feel so used.

Nedroid is amazing and I don't even know why. It'll be the randomest shit and I'll just bust up laughing.

He's playing the FarmVille-esque MLP game that's available on iOS (hence he's playing it on a tablet). At the same time, though, it's a pretty awful comic. Especially if you didn't know about the MPL game.

No. Old CAD is over. There's no more Ethan. CAD is about games again. The Players are the new focus. He ended Ethan's shit and rebooted it into something new.

Technically it is a lie though because Ethan WILL be back but not in CAD, in different comic-book comics.

Also just LOL'd at that amazing Nedroid comic you posted. Literally all of them make me laugh so hard. He new one with Future Reginald was fucking brilliant.

But why play such a game if you don't like MLP?

Actually why am I even bothering to ask.

Holy shit this one got me good. I'm grinning like an idiot trying to hold in my laughter at work.

Tell me that's a pisstake of CAD. Because it sure looks like it. If it came out before that last CAD did... then blah blah copyright etc.

PS. That's probably the best recommendation I've seen here. I nearly pissed myself at both of those comics. Hopefully they're indicative of regular quality and not the highest peaks.

Not that there is a discrete definition of "reboot", meaning he can call it whatever he wants, but is there anything about this new comic that says it couldn't have appeared before the reboot? I'm pressing the "random" button on his site and while most of what appears does feature his characters, occasionally he's just commenting on something and doesn't use them. This "reboot" just seems to be turning the comic into all those.

But this doesn't really mean anything. I'm sure there would have been ways to do a "reboot" with all the characters intact too.

It's pretty obviously just a parody of general "Grim and Dark future" time travel stories.

Not everything is about CAD, especially as CAD hardly is the only comic or story to do that.

Now that I really think about it, the CAD reboot pretty much ended the same way Bigger Than Cheeses did, which I wouldn't put it past him since BTC really leaned into making fun of CAD :lol

Future version of the main character comes back, kills things

I don't think I've ever read a Nedroid comic that I didn't like. I don't always laugh out loud at them but they ALWAYS make me smile and more often than not they do make me laugh.
Nedroid is special because Anthony doesn't rely on sex or cursing or gross humor for his comics. They're all very genuine, not really family-friendly as in for kids, but still never inappropriate. It's just a very kind of... pure, good-natured comic. I absolutely adore it.

I was thinking that too, his use of the term "reboot" is pretty loose. I guess if we want to get down to it he's rebooting the Ethan shit (in the future) and refocusing CAD onto the Gamers.
