Any idea of the cost breakdown of the HMZ?Well we've seen the downsides to Sony's method: it's expensive, and it's heavy. Also, I'm not sure whether or not you can get an adequate field of view using Sony's implementation.
You would need Eye support for head tracking beyond simple gyro/accelerometer movements.
Sounds nice, but how about that price?
but how will it work with people with glasses![]()

No not really but is interesting he basically tweeted to Shu Yoshida ans said to him that he would love to support it in volume if it is true. So, implicitly is he confirming the news?.
Not crazy about this idea.
I have very little interest or even none at all in VR gaming. :-/
Would be interesting if it's this vs. Kinect as the consoles' two key differentiators. As long as this is optional and better supported than Move was, I approve.
Then just ignore it. It won't be required. Not crazy about this idea.

When I think "they always nail it with peripherals" I think Sony.
What could go wrong? (grabs popcorn)
This is off-topic. Yoshida confirmed that PS4 will support 4 controllers connected at once.
I've used the oculus with glasses. Not a problem.
Well thats the wonderful thing about a console with options and not having a peripheral forced onto the consumer. If you're not interested then you don't have to pay for the device up front with the console, it isn't tacked on. It's a win-win situation if true.
Then just ignore it. It won't be required.
Well I hope so.
Would hate to have a game come out that I would love to play, but be on a gimmicky device like this. (Can't even believe I'm using this term after I've disagreed with hundreds of people calling the Wii a gimmick as one example. :-/ )
Crimson Dragon for Kinect immediately comes to mind as an old school Sega fan.![]()
MS is Xboned. VR will have a lot of appeal.
Obviously the VR headset won't be releases this year so the device will always be optional. They'll probably opt for a "better with VR" type of marketing. How can they be debating this 2 months before launch!?
Oculus Rift isn't included with PC purchase. It matters. If it's not in the box it doesn't matter.
Guarantee they've got their own prototype kicking around. They could always partner with Oculus Rift too.

The one sad thing - my most wanted game for this would be a real Elder Scrolls game, but they seem to be focused on that lame-o looking online one for the time being![]()
Mike Bithell tweeted about this news today and said Volume already has OR support maybe someone can post the links?
wow, so this confirms why Bithell took his oculus rift to PS offices like 10 months ago; and that Dan tweet... Damn, i think Sony is partnering with Oculus if not buying it...
MEGATON.

I would use it all the time. Might actually get me into fps mp.
I predicted this months ago. Many here said I was insane before the reveal. Looks like I was right.
Interesting. I am definitely intrigued by vr since everyone who tried OR is amazed by it and if Sony can prodice something similar I am all for it.
Would sound stupid if you need different devices to play Planetside2 and EQN in VR on two different Platforms (If EQN comes to PS4) ^^
Am I the only one who is not that excited for VR? Don't get me wrong, it sounds awesome but I don't see myself using it all that much.
What makes you think this device won't work on a PC?
