Cyberpunk 2077 | 1.05 Patch Comparison | PS4 - PS4 Pro - PS5

Have played 15h of the game on the PS4

Barely touched main quest. Havent gone to Clouds yet. Only doing sidequests waiting for the game to be fully patched.

Right now, it looks what I expected it to look when I bought it. Looks really fine on the PS4.
All they have to do is to fix the pop in. Its really, really bad.

It was improved from last patch. In 1.04, if you went too fast with a car or bike, the road paint wouldnt load, showing only a dark preset. Now, it actually loads as you go.

But stoping your vehicle and waiting for the lighting and geometry to load is just hideous. Takes me out of the experience, everytime.

I could even deal with the low framerate, but the pop in, nah. I just cant.

PS: I also have never seen my PS4 fan doing this much noise. It really sounds like its going to explode or something. The game is so buggy that Im lowkey worried about it maybe frying the console or something lol

Yes, those games were messes and should have also been pulled. What is your point?

Hmm why should they have been pulled?

Sony didnt pull anything because of bugs, they pulled it because they dont wanna give out refunds (because their customer support sucks ass).

Even on PC with SSD I have pop in. Not full road texture pop in but stuff like grass etc. Hell I have more "pop-out". I see cars on the road far away when I get close they disappear xD.

It runs better now i think Sony should put it back on the store now

yeah, it seems to run much better now. But Sony never removed it from store because of the bad quality. They removed it because CDPR communicated that buyers can refund the game. Else games like "life of a black tiger" would not exist in PS store.

Performance of base-consoles is now playable. Not really great but for a cross-gen game (which it is) it performs ok, just like transition games tend to struggle.

Had my first crash with the game yesterday (after more than 20h). But the streaming system still needs an overhaul. Even on my series x in some scenes objects pop into existence a few seconds after they should be visible. Happend yesterday in a sequence where a character pointed to something on the table and spoke about it. After 3 seconds it popped in. Can't be a bandwidth issue. Just the streaming logic seem to have bugs.

Change the slow 5400 RPM HDD in your PS4 then.

Thats whats causing the popin.
Nah. You can see pop in on PC and PS5 too. I've seen videos of it running on a SSD on the PS4 on Youtube, and there's still pop in.

Sure, you can improve it with an SSD, no doubt.

But everything indicates that their solution for streaming geometry/lighting is just shitty right now.

It seems unoptimized, which shouldnt surprise no one.
