Cyberpunk Delayed to December 10

Does it always happen this way? Something smell fishy.

CD Projekt is a publicly listed company.

It's listed in the Warsaw Stock Exchange. I of course am completely ignorant of the Polish law. But wouldn't revealing the delay openly to all employees beforehand at least possibly open the door for Insider Trading accusations?

It's likely some devs at least have stocks or know people who own stocks. And just looking at the performance today, the title seems to be in the red. But again this is just wild speculation on my part and it wouldn't surprise me if I was off by light years.

Hmmm okay then, maybe my theory will be a stretch here but: I don't know how many women are working at cdpr and how many of them are working here in Poland but right now there are country wide protests against the govermnet in regards to abortion law and many women and also many men are on the streets and for example many are taking holidays or absence to go to the protests. Maybe cdpr somehow struggle also with this cause it affects its female part of company. There you go, I've looked at bigger picture :)

Not the point bud. The point here is keeping your dates straight. This is from a guy who is absolutelly cool with delays.
If you can't keep your promises, then don't announce a release date at all. Launch the game when its ready to launch. Giving repetitive empty promises only break the relationship with the buyers. And if you think this is wrong, just answer yourself why would people believe they gonna launch the game at the promissed date this time.

They are able to make tough calls, delaying, cutting scope, exactly the skill you need to deliver quality.

There might be people hating, but we all know these people instantly quiet down if the game they deliver is high quality. On the contrary, people will forever complain about a poor launch or missed opportunities.

Delaying a game for three weeks after you already said its gone gold doesn't scream PERFECT QUALITY ENSUREMENT to me imo. Something's up.

#Salami tactic

I have 90% of my exams that week. Thanks CDPR

same.

I'm actually ok with a delay as I didn't have much time anyway.

I do however believe strongly, like I stated before....this marketing team seriously needs to STFU on making dumbass statements.

They make some massive, massive absolute statements that you can see going bad a mile away.

Be like "we leave greed to others"
Also them "we have MTX in our game, but hear us out bro"

Be like "no downgrade"
Also them "ok now that the game is out, it was indeed downgraded but hear us out bro"

Be like "No crunch"
Also them "ok we have crunch.....but hear us out bro"

Once again this team is proving why what they say just needs to be taken with a grain of salt. They seem to have some PR person or marketing team that makes huge statements that imho should never fucking be made. That shit will cause more harm then good, as to why the thread is filled with the lolz. Wouldn't be that way if they never made such huge statements.

Leave it at a "who knows, could be delayed", or "We needed to make some comprises, but the game still looks great" or "CRUNCH IS NORMAL, we are even paying our team 10% of the game's profit". They need to fire their PR or Marketing team as they can't really continue to keep making such statements and having to walk them back, damage control etc.

Cyberpunk is not the first and not the last game to be delayed, so no point to be that much upset. It is only a couple of days more. For me no issue, christmas looks better this way. That being said, i'm a bit dissapointed but not to the extent some here are showing, damn. Also:

why don't you just cancel current gen versions.

Tbh, from a point it sounds almost like they're slowing pushing toward next gen consoles. Wouldn't be surprised if its thats the case, judging from a small delay.

Rumors say they were planning to skip this generation entirely and go straight for PS5 and Xbox Series X, but changed course and decided to release it on this generation too, which is what they spent most of 2020 doing, downgrading the game and getting it to run on current hardware.

Shit. I remember Dying Light was planned for Xbox 360 and PS3, but the developers skipped them and went for next generation only. Probably for the best.

This shows that they really care about the quality of their games and I have no problem with this and every other game that got delayed in my life. I love it that they take their time to deliver a good game instead of a broken mess like other companies are doing all the time! :)

No point. Will do more harm the good. Massive install base, they already spent a lot of money and the base game is clearly created for current gen. Might as well make what they can make.

This game has the potential to be released as a buggy, underwhelming mess. I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but have you watched the latest long play gameplay trailers? The city looks dead, and the fighting looks like something pulled from a mediocre PS3 game. Yet it's been a top seller on Steam for a long time. I know plenty of people on Neogaf already have purchased it on Steam as well.

They delayed it again only for them to work out the bugs guys! Believe!

If I remember correctly,

Witcher 1 - 0 delays
Witcher 2 - 1 delay
Witcher 3 - 2 delays
CP2077 - 3 delays, and counting

Witcher 4 - ...

Sucks but better it's delayed then released before it's ready. This gives people more opportunity to upgrade their GPUs as well. Maybe also becomes a launch title for ps5/XSX

I knew it.

I don't know about you guys but nowadays you can pretty much expect every new game to be delayed for a few weeks or months. Some of them delayed several times before they actually release.

Can just smell the fucking delays with these games.

Jokes aside this delay looks extrange , you do not delay a gold game weeks before launch to fix minor bugs...

Was ready to pre order this week but now will wait for PS5 patch by 2021. Also will reduce expectations becuase at this moment looks like the Hype people gave to No Mans Sky and it boombed...

Story repeating? Hope its not the case.

If this was the first delay, then sure. Also, if it was only 'a couple of days'.
