About Danganronpa:
Hope's Peak Academy is a government-funded private high school recognized all across the nation as the cradle of hope and prosperity, providing a complete education for "ultimate" students of all stripes. Thanks to a national lottery, one extremely lucky but otherwise ordinary student—Makoto Naegi—has been chosen to attend this prestigious institution. But when Makoto arrives for his first day of class, he suddenly falls unconscious, and when he wakes up he finds himself in a classroom within the school—with the windows barred and the doors locked. As he explores the abandoned, dirty halls, it becomes clear that something is very wrong. He and his new classmates make their way to the gymnasium, where a demented robotic bear, calling himself Monokuma and claiming to be the school's headmaster, makes a declaration: "You're all going to be living here from now on. If you want to go free, your only choice...is murder."

And so...fifteen high school students gathered from across the country have been imprisoned. Their strength, their commitment, their very humanity will be tested time and time again. Why must they clash in these class trials? Who's the mastermind behind it all? And what is this shadowy figure really after? The battle against the looming, invisible enemy known only as despair is about to begin...

Key Features:
• Two Mystery Adventures in One! – For the first time ever, experience two of the greatest visual novel adventures in one package for the PlayStation 4!
• Monokuma’s His Name, Murder’s His Game – Challenge your wits and discover a tale full of deadly twists and turns with one of the most memorable and iconic villains in gaming— Monokuma.
• Hope and Despair – You’ll find yourself gripping the edge of your seat as you experience a world packed with crazy characters, mysterious murders, clever clues, and games of logic all culminating in life-or-death decisions in the ultimate game of hope and despair.

*Keep it spoiler free Vita bros!*

Hopefully people get a chance to play this game in-between EVERYTHING else released the past few weeks!

Keep an open mind and you might really enjoy it, just don't think too much on it because most things do not hold up to any sort of real logic... I couldn't get my brain to just shutup.

(edit) Mostly referring to the second one. The first is a lot better in that regard.

I got my limited edition from NISA on Monday and put in the disc to see how it was. Seems like a very solid port.

Probably won't play it any time soon since I played both games when they came out on Vita, but it's nice to have it in my collection.
Gundham is the best character in the series.

I'm looking forward to hearing about the quality of the ports. I already own and beat the games on Vita but I'd be willing to double dip.

I threw this together real quick because it deserves an OT, but I also kept every very, VERY general because:

A) I didn't want to spoil myself,
B) I didn't want to spoil anyone else, lol.

I'll probably pick this up. I have no experience with the series so I this is the best place to jump in.

Ive always been intrigued with this series but didnt own a Vita. I have no time to play this but I may just purchase a physical copy for later. How good is it guys?

Going through the second one for the first time right now and I'm having a great time with it. I think I like the characters from the first game more right now but there's still plenty of game time left. This is a great series

Have they redone a lot of the art?

Because presumably it was designed for a much lower rez screen.
If the have just upscaled it, its going to look awful.

Having never played these games before, I started the first one and played for about an hour.

The premise seems solid and compelling, but it's quite a slow start and I wish I could skip text as fast as I can read it: X takes a little while, and Circle will often skip two text boxes instead of just one.

I really want to dig in, but it is sooo far back in my backlog at this point..

Remember to try and figure out the cases on your own for maximum enjoyment. Don't be a pleb who just goes along with the game.

This is one series I always wanted to try. Although I won't buy the game soon... the first quarter of this year almost killed my wallet.

Amazing series, played it when it came out on PC. Part 2 is by far one of my favorite games of all time, ranks up with the best Phoenix Wrights. Hope this snags some new fans.

Lest we forget, featuring MASSIVE BEATS from the ACADEMY AWARD WINNING* COMPOSER OF KILLER7 AND NO MORE HEROES, Masafumi Takada.
*Award may not have been from the Academy or have even been actually awarded at all, see store for details.

Got my copy today. Not if I will be able to play until after persona, but this game is on my list of mandatory finishes this year. Glad it came out on the PS4!!

One of the most atmospheric games I've ever played. Despite having Zelda and Horizon on the go, im going through the first Danganronpa again, then playing the sequel for the first time.

It's been about 2 years since I played these games on vita...I wanted to double dip on this bundle, because I would love to relive these games, but they still feel too fresh in my mind :( They're sooo good.

I reviewed this over at bitparade.co.uk and gave it an 8.

It holds up well on a TV screen, there's a few rough spots but it looks fine. It works without the touch controls well enough. My main issue is that, playing in a larger screen, it's sometimes hard to take everything in during the debates

That and some of the characters really start to grate. Really enjoyable stuff other than that mind
