To people saying the final suit looks bad the person who made it for him said he didn't get to finish it the way he wanted to. I'm sure the suit will change later on in the series looking more like the comic. Regardless I liked the show and the writing was top notch. I dare say this beats some of the Marvel movies in the rankings.

I think this too, after all you can see something resembling the comics suit in the opening, so i'm sure Matt will add some sort of suit/material on the surface.

With a few tweak the costume will be killer in The Defenders, or season 2, whichever is first. Does a great job hiding his identity, where with the black getup I half expected Urich to call him "Matt" in their final meeting.

How long after Avengers does Daredevil take place? In theory Spiderman's movie could take place between the two.
I doubt they'd want to place it there just to get Urich in it though, it's just a waste of a good character. I kept thinking Urich was having a nightmare during the murder scene like Karen was having, so I was like "when is he waking up?". Then I got sad.
Matt also said his heartbeat was different, stronger during that scene. Also Nobu slowed his heartrate down to zero apparently as Matt didn't even sense him, which he should even if his heartrate was just really slow.

Just remembered another hit at Nobu's supernatural connections. Early in the show, when Leland commented how Nobu could pretend to be cold while everyone else was freezing
So is he really dead? Does he resurrect or possess new bodies or something in the comics? Stick's comments about him seemed to imply that Nobu was immortal or a demon (many names, etc.)

Daredevil takes place at least some months after Avengers. But like you said, it brings too much limitation just for one character.
Woah just saw the whole thing. Really impressed with the show. I hope we get a second season and if we do I hope we won´t have to wait too long for it.
Also wonder what the whole thing with Stick was. The guy at the end, the black sky, Madame Gao also seem like there is more to her.
Hope the other shows will be at least as good as this one.

The helmet seems off...It works okay in some scenes but in others it looks really shit.
I think it looks really good there, especially the eyes.

Yeah in that shot looks good but overall, it looks weird, like it wasn't Matt in the suit at all. Maybe because of the jawline.

I never saw it but I think its a little bit behind the skyline that we see going from Tony's fligh t from the East river in Avengers.

Finished up the season this morning and had a bit of time to collect my thoughts.
The socially awkward Wilson Fisk was an interesting portrayal, but I have a hard time seeing him rise to such power without becoming unhinged unless Wesley was always with him along the way. But the emphasis on not mentioning his name was really well done. It felt like the first time in a long time where that kind of thing was really effective. I hope he isn't as unhinged when he comes back to make up for a lack of Wesley.
This Kingpin really reminded me of Spider-Man's Tangled Web Issue #4. It showed the perspective of a Kingpin lackey that failed and the consequences it brought. I really recommend reading it.
Fisk felt like more of a threat than Hydra ever has in Agents of SHIELD (and they attacked the UN). The voice Vincent D'onofrio used made me think of "Edgar Suit" Alien from Men in Black sometimes.
I started up the first episode again to show that "Black Sky" was written in Kanji on Nobu's blueprints at the end of the episode(foreshadowing that you wouldn't notice unless you knew Japanese).

I also noticed there appears to be a blind Asian man with a backpack when Foggy gives the officer the cigars for the first time right after the opening credits.

That is something I didn't expect and it is so subtle too.
Also, I noticed there was some talk about the location of Hell's Kitchen earlier. In addition I would like to add this little pic of the distance from Grand Central Terminal (where Hulk and Thor crashed through on that Chitauri whale thing) and a park on the far side of Hell's Kitchen.
So you can see that it was right next to all the action.
I really hope season 2 isn't too far off into the future.

Nah, the scene with him and Karen was fantastic. It was great to see him actually try to cover up his fuck up with an overconfidence buff and see Karen call it.

At the very least he's a member of The Hand - a group that through the years (in the comics anyway) have become pretty closely associated with ressurecting people (everyone).

Maybe, but it seemed out of place. The whole series focused so much on using sound while showing us what he heard that showing us only once how he sees felt off. Cool effect, though, I'd be down for them expanding on it, maybe throwing in a bit of the sonar effect (like here

Karen kill was crazy tho. Was expecting the cliche gun safety issue.
Daredevil suit meh, I just don't like superhero suits in general. Looks cooler when it looks like they make it themselves out of regular clothe.
Didn't care for the criminal politics much, could have cut a lot from that.
Thought that Matt and Foggy barely appear in a two or three episode stretch.
There was just a little bit missing from this being one of the "greats"
Overall, I'm surprised I was even comparing it to the greats, its a fucking Marvel TV show..
But yea, 8.5/10

They did such a great job of building up Fisk before revealing him. Too bad he turned out to be a simpering bitch.

- Cheesy scenes: The slow montage with all the arrests after Hoffman's confession, especially with the music.

I like Wesley a lot but I liked the character a lot more when he was called Waylon Smithers.
I'd totally have traded Karen for Ben. I get what the show and the characters, even Ben's wife, were trying to convince me of, but his death IS Karen's fucking fault. However, it works because he is such a good character who we do end up caring a great deal about. It sank me when he died. Ben told Karen more than once he had a wife to worry about and TAKE CARE OF. But she kept pushing him into danger, and trying to guilt trip him into pursuing the case, and then she TRICKED HIM into going to the nursing home.
That last part is what cements that it is her fault. His wife said that it wasn't her fault because Ben died doing what he wanted to do. But he died because he went to the nursing home, and Karen tricked his ass into going there. So it is 100% her fucking fault.
I'll give it to them because it took balls to do it, and just because it's Karen's fault doesn't meant it's a bad portion of the story. On the contrary.

Did anyone get a weird vibe from Karen? Like the way she just very coldly killed off that dude. I know they basically mashed together Claire and Night Nurse. Maybe a Karen and Typhoid Mary mash up.

I guess I've always like the "second hand man" character, and he was great at it.

And in her future, probably. I really think a lot of her actions and stupidity came about because she had a vendetta, driven by her own terror and intense desire or even obsession to bring a sense of safety back into her life. Her reasons and goals were noble, but also selfish, and she took them entirely too far. She's heading for a downfall, mainly due to the trauma from having murdered Wesley.
She knew the risk. So did Ben. But that time, Ben didn't have a choice, and he straight-up said he likely wouldn't have gone if she hadn't tricked him. Maybe he was lying, but I can't help but think of his wife. Karen didn't.
It is Karen's fault for taking Ben there with her, but I don't think Fisk would've found out Ben was there had a mole not relayed that information to him when Ben and his boss had that outburst at the office. Karen took out Wesley, and Fisk's mother couldn't seem to recall who had visited her so I suppose he put two and two together when he got information, hence he only knew of Ben and not Karen.

Karen did the wrong thing for the right reason. Her deception ultimately got Ben killed but this story was something Ben needed to write about. He came to understand this after talking to his wife. Do the ends justify the means and all that.

She's not guilty of Ben's murder or anything like that, but her role in it isn't blameless at all, because she knew the risk, knew he wanted out, knew that it was because he wanted to take care of his wife, and still tricked him. And that was wrong, whether he had been killed or not. She did it because stopping Fisk became just as much of an obsession for her as it was for Matt. I'm looking at Jake Gyllenhaal in Zodiac levels of obsession here.
The mole at the paper was definitely way more to blame, though. Can't say I'm mad Karen did it, though. Characters are a lot more interesting when they get their hands dirty.

When Gao says "Farther than China", she likely means Kun-Lun. We'll almost certainly be seeing her again in Iron Fist. Loved that she just busted mystic attacks out of nowhere.

Yea they nailed the casting on him so hard, it's a shame they killed him off.
