ds3 is more playable and kinda a better game. But BB is more unique, polished and just something new

Hmm this is actually really tough one, I like those threads, where it's not this close. I enjoyed gameplay of Bloodborne more, however I liked world of Dark Souls 3 more. Also BB was "easier" for me, because you move more quickly, DS III kick my ass so much that I basically finished it in many sittings which spans from 2017 to 2019. Basically when I beat DS III 2 weeks after dead I was fighting Dark Souls of Surgery.

DS3 was more varied with many different looking areas.

Bloodborne was almost the same from start to end.

Dark Souls 3 is the better game in every way. the lore is better, more customizable character, better weapons and overall better PVP experience.

Have you played previous Dark Souls games (especially 1, 3 ties into it a lot lore wise so that will make 3 even better)? I think that'll be a good metric for whether or not you'll enjoy 3. It's a bigger and better version (though most DS fans consider DS1 to be better in world building/lore since it's more original, I enjoyed 3 over it).

Yes, I've loved Dark Souls 1 and liked Dark Souls 2 VERY much (except the DLC bosses), so I've gone through Bloodborne with enthusiasm.

And it lasted for, I think, around half game? I was doing great and the game was totally interesting.
Then the woods happened, the cheap bosses, the typical nonsensical dead-ends in Bloodborne's level design, and it just didn't want to end. It goes on and on. And on.

Even the DLC is the same: has an awesome location, an AWESOME boss, and then... it goes on. And on. And still on.
The location changes and it sucks. Everything interesting is behind you, and the cheap final DLC boss sucks, too.

Sadly I still have to beat the final boss of the main game. I've just ran out of energy to give to this damn game.

I hope DSIII can rekindle my love for this series a little. Bloodborne just broke me.

Bloodborne was my first entry into the Souls games, never tried DS3 and I got to the chapel where you have to fight 3 hunters at the same time before I bowed out. Artistically one of the coolest/creepiest games ever made. For me personally I really need some type of ending that isn't ambiguous at best. Souls/BB typically seem to be fantastic journeys with failed endings, hard to believe so much creativity can't find an equally creative end, saying nothing is not the same as giving context.

Since I played Bloodborne only for a couple of hours and felt very high quality like many From titles, I accept Bloodborne winning this pool. I'm not sure but perhaps it really is better than DS3.

But no game ever is better "by far" than DS3. DS3 is a masterpiece. Saying any less than this is a mistake and you are a horrible person. It needs to be a complete revolutionary experience for a game to easily beat DS3.

Mario 3 is better by far than Bubsy.

Quite frankly, Bloodborne. Sorry, but Dark Souls 2 and 3 are below Bloodborne, Dark Souls 1 and Demon's Souls in my ranking. Not that they're bad games, just not as good. Dark Souls 2 was especially disappointing, but it has been slowly growing on me, so that I'm unsure which of 2 or 3 are better.

DS III is the better overall game as it offers much more.

I expect BB to win this poll though and BB is the best game in this poll besides DS III but I will still vote BB.

DS3 is an awesome game one of the best games i would say.
But Bloodborne is an entirely diffrent kinda beast.

Easy choice, BB every day all day

Bloodborne is maybe my favorite game from the whole series.

I liked DS3 but I almost couldn't finish it. Maybe I grew tired of Dark Souls. It is more of the same after DS1 and DS2, more polished and all, but still more of the same.

Bloodborne on the other hand felt fresh with the tweaked gameplay and because of the different world.

DS3 was a characterless greatest-hits package showing the franchise was running creatively on fumes at that point. Its just not that good, and by far the weakest of the trilogy.

Both are great but overall I liked Bloodborne more.
It's more unique, has an amazing setting, great combat, some of my favorite bosses ever and I love the trick weapons.

DS3 was really good but also felt very familiar, and recycled a lot of concepts and ideas from the previous games. It was the first time since FROM started doing these games that you could tell they were running short of ideas, and it results in most of the game having a "been there done that" feel.

Roll spam and R1 spam single-handedly killed DS3 for me. Bloodborne's setting and lore was great, and I loved the trick weapons, so I'm going with that. I think DS3 would be 100 times better if they reduced number of concurrent summons (gank squads are shitty) and made poise work like in DS1 to encourage more build variety other than just "have the fast roll and spam it".

DS3 wasn't that good for a Souls game, better than 2 for sure but it clearly didn't have the quality DeS, BB, DS1 and Sekiro have. These are games you have to play for a fairly long time before you really get the finer points in them, but the more you do, the more glaring things like level design choices, player toolkit vs Enemy toolkit, enemy placements, bosses and so on become.

Looks like Bloodborne has this in the bag. Such a great game.

It's a shame that it's going to lose to Persona next round.

Bloodborne is the game of the gen, we can actually stretch it and say game of the decade.

It changed everything, it took the Dark Souls formula and created one of the most satisfying action games that were ever created. Playing Dark Souls 3 after it felt like a massive downgrade and despite spending hundreds of hours in Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2, I was never able to finish the third because it felt slow and unsatisfying.

DS3 is a very good Dark Souls game and a great sequel to DS1. That Anor Londo moment is just ace and the story once it's explained by Vaati is sad and creative at the same time. I had great time with it.

But today it must fall because Bloodborne is a stike of genious that is so awesome that even a lack of PS4Pro version or an updated PS5 version cannot quench the thirst for the old blood. The hunt for next game to fall begings!

I wanted for so long to make a PS Now account just to play Bloodborne, mainly because I like the Souls series, secondly because I heard so many good things about it.
Finally did it,and I gotta say,it`s exactly 50-50 for me,it feels and plays very much like Dark Souls 3,just a bit fast paced, don`t know, maybe because I heard it was better than the Souls serries and I` ve wanted for long to play it,I had build to much expectation.

Having said that I understand why Bloodborne is preferred ,new setting, new theme, new bosses.

Dark Souls 3 at 60fps is better than Bloodborne with its shit framerate and chromatic aberration. Had Bloodborne have a PC port so the gameplay could truly shine my choice would be different, but as it stands the performance kills it for me.

That being said I really enjoy the game because it's amazing so it's huge statement I enjoy it so much even though the performance is so poor.

I'll let you know in a couple of months. Something tells me we will start seeing a lot of "Bloodborne was never good" threads.

DS3 was a very good game but it felt like a greatest hits collection, I think it may be the worst Souls game.
