Do the summons show up near the door itself or i was getting people showing up on the initial bridge before the rafters?

Late game, seems more people are leaving their summon signs at the bonfire. Much easier for me to find summons at the nearest bonfire than in front of the actual door.

I actually tried but my arrows wouldn't hit the second one for some reason. Couldn't figure out why, just figured he was slightly out of range.

Worked for me a couple of times. You've just got to find the right spot.

So what the hell is going?

So why is the Tomb
of the giants Boss , Nito
attacking/sodomizing me if I belong to that very same covenant?

Leading up to my rage this has happened :

- Wasted roughly 30h worth of materials on weapon upgrades that turned to shit
- Accidentally killed my covenant leader
- Wasted two boss souls on two weapon "upgrades" that turned out to be huge downgrades.
- Have one of the best rings break on me because of an accident
- Lost probably 10k souls X 50 times in a row by now
- Not having leveled in like 5h-7h of gametime.

Sigh, sounds like I'm whining but really now things aren't going my way.

I've had days like that in Demon's Souls - (haven't had one yet in DkS) - was just a sign that a day or two breather was in order.

Sort of like if I make 2 or 3 stupid deaths in a row, start getting gamer-rage then have another few deaths that are my fault. It's time to put down the controller for a bit.

OK, you guys can't be serious about the Anor Londo archers. All I did was just run to the right one, killed it. What is the fuss about?

So... what's this talk of boss souls? I'm about to step through the gate to Blight Town and I've yet to see one.

The fact that they're impossible (literally) unless you do it right? And saying "I just ran to the right one" is insufficient information, as hundreds of other people are "just running to the right one" and getting killed 100% of the time over 20+ attempts?

That could be what the fuss is about.

The Blight Town boss is the first boss that drops a soul as far as I know.

Later bosses drop souls like the bosses in Demon's Souls, they're used for the same purpose as in Demon's.

If you liked World 5 in DeSouls at all, you will love this area.

I loved every world in DS... 5 was actually one of my favorites. I have to say coming out of the Depths, I really enjoyed them. So vile and grimy. Loved it.

FUCK YES! Got passed those god damn archers! I got knocked down soooo many times, been trying this fucking area for at least 1 and a half hours if not more. Feels so good.

I ran into the Silver Knight Archers today too, took me 3 attempts to get it right. I could have done it in two but I ran the wrong way the first time and my bloodstain was not very well placed so when I wanted to get it, the other one pieced my back and I fell...But at least my bloodstain was on the good side after this and that settled it.

Other than that passage, the rest of the level was easy so I fully explored it and there are some good things lying around or dropped from monsters.

And now I'm facing the area boss but I'll try to fight correctly tomorrow because I don't want to be half asleep facing it...even wide awake it's going to be tough.

That could be what the fuss is about.

I assume the biggest reason people have trouble there is they get knocked off the edge to their deaths. The danger of the spears is much more their knockback effect than the damage, but as long as you aren't stopping on the walkways and keep moving up it shouldn't be an issue even if you're >50% burdened.

All of the archers in this game have one thing in common, and that's that they can't aim very well at a moving target. That goes for the mage enemies as well.

Just got the game. The thief has the Master Key what does that mean?
Permanent key that grants you access to a number of locked doors early. Be warned, Thief is a pretty tough class for a beginner and many of those doors lead to rather unfriendly places.

Darkroot or the Depths
thank you
which one is more enjoyable in your opinion? consider I'm a sl21 thief (high dexterity)

about how tough thief is as a class: it is indeed tough, but once you understand how to play, it's fun. learn to parry and backstab, lure single enemies out of their group with the bow, etc etc

Consider entering the fog as a declaration of murder lol. You are no longer in the covenant.

The Depths are extremely enjoyable. There's these cute little frog guys and smiley blobs that frolic on the ceilings!

I'd say the easier one is Darkroot by far, one of the easiest bosses in the game. But the boss fight has amazing music, I'd probably go there first. Depths can be a little annoying with curses.

Congrats, buy a lotto ticket. Are you guys killing them in one or two swings? I've got +3 lightning spear, and I kill knights like that by dodging and circle strafing, neither of which are possible on a ledge. Poison arrows worked for me.

can i arrow the firepot thrower? i can hit him for 8 dmg a shot, i have 900 arrows, just wondering if it'll break my game or if i'll lose an item if i kill him with arrows

I don't think you'll lose anything. I killed him with my battle axe. To get to him you have keep climbing up higher and higher. He's up the staircase that's near the cage shortcut.

Tip: At the Anor Londo archers, make sure to align yourself with the walkway on which the one archer stands. Don't target the archer untill he puts away his bow. Other wise you'll get bounced into the wall which will cause you to fall to your death. I've experienced this many, many times...

If you look at the diagram I posted on the previous page, I think it summarizes the situatino pretty well. If you go left at the column in the center, you can't pass the part, period. I personally tried it 30+ times, made it to the top walkway every time, got stabbed in the back by the guy on the left every time. Once you get knocked down it's game over because even after you stand back up you've got 2 guys hitting you from both sides. There's simply no way to do it, a shield can't protect your back. And if you go left at the column in the center (repeat: at the column in the center since everyone misreads this and says "no lol go to the one on the right first") you cannot pass that part. I tried it with every different armor combination I had, 30+ times, running, walking, stopping, equip burden, no equip burden, poise ring, everything. it has nothing to do with stopping on the walkway, equip burden, knockback, etc.

Every single person who is posting saying that it's easy is saying that when you get to the top the guy on the left will ignore you. Well that doesn't happen if you went left at the column in the center. With him out of the equation, it's a totally different story.

I killed the Capra demon on first attempt, didn't use more than two or three flasks. I guess people met him lower level than me though as the area prior was just meat to the grinder, I was around 35 or so (and I had a Dark Knight Sword + 2).
Going through Bl
ight town
pretty easily as well. Spending a day fighting for my life in the tomb of
Giants
hardened me.

Okay, so I went ahead and beat the game and started a NG+. In less than 1 1/2 hours (with some side trips thrown in) I:

- Killed the asylum demon on the first try and got his weapon
- Ran through the entire fortress and unlocked all of the shortcuts
- Killed Taurus
- Bought everything I needed off the blacksmith to repair and stuff
- Killed the titanite demon next to the blacksmith
- Killed the gargoyles (by myself)
- Killed the Capra Demon

No deaths at all and killed everything on my first try. I've already rang the first bell and have the key to the sewers, but I didn't feel like traversing that place right now as I needed a break.

It's amazing how easy the game is once you're all decked out with equipment and know your way around, lol. The "bosses" I've fought so far are pretty much normal enemies later on, so it was hilarious how easy they were at this point as I was completely used to their attacks. Hell, with my Dragon King's GreatAxe, I took off 90% of the Taurus demon's HP in one drop. I ended up finishing him off in two more quick attacks after that. The GreatShield of Atorias just bounced his attacks off like they were nothing.

I spent 95 hours on my first play through and ended at level 130, which I plan on staying at since I don't see any reason to level up higher. I'm probably over leveled at this point for NG+, but still, it just cracks me up how quick and easy that whole place was after I literally spent 25 hours my first time through the game just figuring everything out and dying repeatedly, lol.

Jesus, level 35 for Capra? I was level 18.

Cleared all of Anor Londo today. Awesome zone. Best one after Sen's Castle so far.
Tomorrow, it's boss time!

Oh and thanks for the ones who noted me about the realm invader before the boss room with the Black Eyes. :)

OH NO! I accidently was testing a new weapon when I hit the blacksmith at the undead parish! now he's brawling after me, crap crap WHAT DO I DO. Make it stop. Anyway to rectify?

Wow, thanks for the poison arrow tip. Those two assholes were kicking my ass. Actually managed to get past them once, but ended up falling off the ledge before reaching safety... yeah.

But man, what a game. So good. 42h playtime now and I got the game a week ago. wtf.

Do you mean
Moonlight Butterfly?
Only tried that boss once and got roasted. Thought that wasn't the path is was supposed to go so I just went the Depths->Blighttown route.

Go to the first belltower and pay the priest of Velka a king's ransom to absolve your sins. As long as you didn't kill him he'll go back to being friendly.

So keeping in mind that I'm a DEX build... Should I go for the True Greatsword of Artorias (or Cursed) or the Lifeblood Scythe? (Or some other weapon entirely)? I'm getting kinda bored of using the Furysword and the Lightning Spear all the time, but I know that they're amongst the best weapons in the game...
