anyone with the guide care to help me explain what some stuff mean. Like when it shows what drop and monster has.

eg Blue Titanite Chunk (B)

What does the (B) mean?
There is also other letter like S, M, C, A

EDIT: god damn, I missed the very page that explains everything...

herp derp

M is a guaranteed drop, then descending in probability: S, A, B, C

I had just joined the Forest Hunter covenant and started invading other players, but after killing the 5th person and being sent back to my world I seen +2000 souls show up because someone must have fallen of a cliff. Now I am out of the covenant and everyone in the forest is hostile again.

I just wanted to check if I have missed anything from that covenant now. Is there any interesting dialogue from Alvina that I have missed out on or any other gifts?

Did ixix ever report back on his patches experiment?

Patches stays in the Tomb until Nito dies. I made it down to him and told him we were buds, but he refuses to leave. Hitting Tomb of Giants early gives you early access to Rhea, but not Patches. No way to make Lautrec make good on his threat because you can't get Patches to Firelink until after Anor Londo.

Hitting up Tomb of Giants early was a lot of fun, but otherwise pointless.

Is the stat tracking on your messages broken?

I have 3 messages that have been up for like a week now. They are all very helpful, one tells exactly where a crystal lizard is in Undead Burg. The next tells there is a knight ahead in a place where you can walk right into it unexpectedly. The third tells where an illusory wall is in The Great Hollow.

All 3 have 0 +/- votes. WTF?

If the system is not broken, then it's obvious that the decision to make the message system based on an item you have to use was stupid. I think people are just being lazy and not using the item, but just reading the messages.

I don't think I've seen a message with more than 4 votes, and even then you can't tell if they are + or -. In Demon's Souls I remember some messages getting hundreds of votes...

:(

Keep in mind that they only exist while you're logged into the game IIRC. That's the biggest difference from DeS.

This happened to me. You can head back to the first bell tower and pay to be forgiven. Also check the forest there is a damn npc that jumped off on my game and he dropped a sweet ring. Its near the covenant there.

ah thanks. new question: In the weapons or Item page, they have Anor Londo(1)?

What is the 1?
Not sure, you should read through the introductory page for the items section. They're pretty good about explaining stuff.

Also, I'm watching that 90 minute speed run, this is fucking amazing.

Blighttown from the valley of drakes entrance
should I go through, or go somewhere else first?

Go through so you can get to the second bell. It's really close to that entrance.

You can handle Blighttown at level 35, just prepare for poison, get the Spider Shield and some Moss, there is some armor in there that has high poison resistance, but it is on the other side of Blighttown.

Avoid Valley of the Drakes though, only use it as a shortcut for now.

After you get through the two pendulum bridges, you'll see a stair leading to a chamber with a serpent on a wall. He's beyond the wall, which you can crumble with boulders later.
thanks.

by the way is there a bonfire where i can teleport in duke's archives?

Is there any difference in upgrade scaling between the Zweihander and the Greatsword? Looking at both the only difference in stats appears to be a higher Strength requirement and weight on the Greatsword. The only other difference between them seems to be the strong attack, which is an overhead smash with the Zweihander but a thrust with the Greatsword.

The thrust attack on the Greatsword seems nice, but I'm not sure it's four more points of Strength nice.

teleport out of, but not to, if you want to go back, you have to go back through it again, it is quicker the second time through though, if you moved the stairs around.

Found a major shortcut at the start of New Londo.

Right off the right side of the area where the ghosts first appear, there's a metal pole just off the ledge.

It leads right into the underground town.

Lautrec got what he deserved. Never taking off the ring of favor and protection. I was a little worried since it was the first time, but it was no sweat. Had to burn one divine blessing. Now to get his armor.

well the problem is with anor londo, i want to kill the fire keeper near the path for duke's archives, can i still teleport there if i kill him?
If not to reach the duke's archives i have to start from the princess.

I took mine off last night :3

Taking off the ring of favor and protection is liberating.

Nice ring but honestly you switch rings too much in this game to be worth it.

I have a lightning spear +5 right now, I'm curious if I can upgrade it further?

Ask yourself this -- did an achievement or trophy pop when you hit +5 on it? It should have. ;) [+5 is the end of the road]

Speaking of, I need to go murder Stray Demon so I can get a titanite slab and finish my upgrade path there.

Okay... I have yet another silly question:

after ringing the second bell and
finding out that the Firekeeper in Firelink has been assassinated, you get this item that in theory allows you to avenge her. My question is, the number "1" beside the item means I can only use it once (like the invading stones), or can I use it as many times as I need to?
I guess it's the second, but it never hurts to ask...

This game is so huge, damn... just found out about the existence of illusory walls, lol.

I'm loving it.

You get as many tries as you need. The game will let you know when you're able to use it.

But why would you do that? For melee it is so awesome. Casters, get something else.

Because I don't need the hp or stamina. Havel's is better for Load and Darkwood grain ring is an amazing ring.

With Havel I can wear my heavy stuff and something situational like gold serpent ring, darkwood, hornet etc.

I took it off wanting to use different rings for PVP, but then, put another one on in NG+. Even with 40 End, you still need to wear it or Havel ring to wear heavy armor <50% equip load. The Favor ring > Havel ring.

The lack of a bonfire in New Londo is quite aggravating, and the path through Valley is not much of a shortcut, figuring what you have to take out on the way.

I was having fun until this point, but man.. so many damn Darkwraiths down on the ground there..

After you drain the water, the boss is literally 15 seconds away from the start of New Londo. You have to drop down to the right and then head east until you reach some stairs then straight until you see the boss fog on your left.

How do I level up my divine halberd past +5? According to the wiki it can go up to +10 but I am not getting the option to level it up further when I go to a blacksmith.

Now that I think about it, I haven't seen a single achievement message in this game through 40+ hours. Are notifications turned off by default?

New Londo is a cakewalk. You hardly have to deal with ghosts after your first visit. As for the Darkwraiths. It's best to take them on one on one, and backstab them, their moves are slow and predictable. Once you've been there a few times (good grind spot for souls and Titanite Chunks), it'll become just like the Undead, or any of the other starting areas.

I wish there was a screenshot function in the game especially since you can turn off the HUD.

You need to get the Large Divine Ember. It's in the
Tomb of the Giants
in a room filled with giant skeletons. It's pretty close to the first bonfire.

Probably old news to everyone, but the area right before the Tomb of Giants boss has
infinitely respawning baby skeletons
, but they drop humanity!

If you use
the ring from Sen's Fortress that increases drop rate
you can farm like a professional.

Select "Modify Equipment" once you're ready to go from +5 to +6. You'll also need a Large Titanite Shard.

Oh yeah, and the Large Ember. Forgot about that.

I'm not sure if it's worth paying so much to be forgiven if I'm not mission out on anything. I did find that ring though. It seems pretty cool.

Trying to fight Sif now but he is doing a lot of damage to me.

finalozzo said:
you can't. btw where did you find all that shards of titanite?

Don't really remember, haven't paid any attention to what it takes to upgrade different things in this games actually, just found a lightning spear and was able to upgrade it.

Guess it's worth mentioning that I found it late in the game since It took a while before I went to anor lando, and I did a lot of exploring.

I also didn't really upgrade anything before that except 1 or 2 things I think.

But thanks for the help everyone.

You need to give him the large divine ember. Then, he can modify to +6 and you can re-enforce to 7-10.

You need to get the
Large Divine Ember from the Tomb of Giants, then give it to the Blacksmith in Undead Parish
The Ember is in a very tough area.

Somebody tell From Software to port the game to PC platform, make it available via Steam and add in mod support for a foundation for the best game in existence?

It could be the most basic port ever but I would buy it day 1 just for better frame-rate.

Advice: don't hit/attack NPC's unless you're willing to deal with long-lasting, harsh consequences.

Have fun. Embrace the pain.

Uhh... i struck the prisoner after he started giggling a bit... and then he creepily giggled more... am I fucked?
