turn around, come back later.

Edit, if you haven't already, go for the armor that Ceaseless Discharge is guarding, even if it is a suicide run, it is well worth it, some of the best gear in the game.

Are you talking about the
gold-hemmed gear
? I actually got that and beat him, but I can't get past the gangs of
Capra and Taurus demons
. I saw there was another area in Blighttown if I go up some wooden elevator, maybe I should try that out?

fuck, pvp is fucking broken.
but it's very nice to ''protect'' the forest as black/blue phantoms. (even if you can get involved in a bug)

The Taurus demons are easy if you lure them out one by one with your arrow. Just stay real close to them and you'll be fine.

Where do you get the lightning spear in Sen's fortress?

I'd rather leave it as a surprise for you. There are heaps of chests with awesome treasures, so get all of 'em! :P

PvPing in the forest is awful, it was all dueling from what I saw. Anor Lando was pretty intense with invasions for me.

electroshockwave said:

It's in the lower part of the fortress from a chest that's actually a Mimic IIRC.

Stick with it.

It really fucks you hard at the beginning but then you'll get used to it and you'll look back...almost fondly.

Yes, keep going up, look for the torches, that will tell you where the ladders are. If you want, you can look around for loot around half way up, go for it, but if you just want to get out of there, just keeping going up.

I thought the framerate problems in blighttown were GAF overreacting as usual, but fuck no.

Fuck no.

I didn't have that issue with mine. (360+install)

Maybe because I wasn't changing the perspective to look down (because why? Everything is coming at you from the level you're currently on mostly)

There were moments were it slowed but nothing that warranted the cries of dismay/displeasure that I've seen here.

You grab it early on in the level, I know that.

Creepiest/weirdest fucking monster ever.

Beats the HELL out of Pyramid Head...the HELL.

In... a chest...
*snigger*

So in Lost Iza, how do I open that giant door? I've been on the other side in Demon's Ruin, but neither side allow opening?

lol all you people saying pvp is broken, it has some issues a few things need nerfs and a few things need buffs. But over all I'm having a god damn blast invading people.

for you mage dudes if ring of fog is giving you issues use the moonlight sword or a lighting claymore one handed. katana's are okay too also wear heavy ass armor with high poise as a mage, you dont need to be fast you need to be a fucking walking tank

For faith dudes lighting claymore or occult claymore works, there is also true astionia's greatsword, but that's more level 150 type shit.

Lightning claymore one handed swing auto locks down on players with no poise as well.

Thanks for the info, Booshka.

Quick question - If my weapon breaks, is it completely unrepairable? My Black Knight Sword broke when
a centipede looking thing spit acid(?) on it
. I repaired it, then signed out while I walked my dog. When I turned my game back on, the first thing I see is that my weapon is broke

Sen's isn't that big... :|

New areas always seem ridiculously huge when you go through them for the first time, especially when you can't find a bonfire. The first time I went through Blighttown I thought that shit was never going to end and after I beat Quelaag I was like "seriously how can there be no shortcut going back to Firelink here?". But now that I know my way around there and can murder everything instantly it doesn't seem like much of a trek at all.

If you look down or switch from the outer view of the castle to the interior view, the framerate literally dropped to single digit...not mention exploring down in the swamp...really hope PS3 got an option of installing to speed up the streaming...

not only Blighttown, Anor Londo too, when running toward the main hall where those two gargoyles starting to be rendered on screen, the framerate took a big hit...

I am starting to doubt that if it is From intentionally made the framerate so shitty like 5-2 swamp in DS

Yeah I really wish I could play the game again for the first time :(

I didn't have that issue either in Anor Londo. : /

There have been hiccups but nothing consistent and never in the same place twice.

The deeper I get into this game, the more it feels like a test of patience more than skill. I mean what the fuck is up with the giant lava room with all the dinosaurs? What a waste of my time.

Really dumb question, but how do you jump?

Im trying to get to the aqueduct in the beginning of the game but cant figure out how to jump.

I think its the beginning of the end for me.
You press O to run, press it again while running to jump.

The game is about patience and skill. How is this zone a waste of your time? That shit was exciting to me. Felt like well a chase scene from Jurassic park or some shit.

That place is awful, I just spent over an hour cheesing the dinos with arrows, their attacks clip through almost all of the geometry, they are hyper aggressive and stun you, all while you are walking on fallen trees surrounded by lava, fuck that place so hard.

So where to next? I just beat
Ornstein and Smough

I've been everywhere except for
Tomb of the Giants, The Duke's Archives, Crystal Cave and Lost Izalith... New Londo Ruins: I made it to the top and spoke to some guy. Went to the bottom floor but didn't have a key? Demon Ruins: cleared the area (even got the ember) but the main door was sealed. I've read that you need some kind of lamp for the Tomb of the Giants?

New Londo, and it might be a good idea to become cursed before you go. Also, make sure you kill Sif in Darkroot Basin before you go.

Invasions are the sanest form of PvP by far thanks to the randomness and the level restriction. You rarely bump into the crazy glitched-out pure-PvP builds that camp in places like the forest.

Pro tip:
They damage each other. Past the first tower in the area is a second tower, with a root that leads up to the top. Kill 2 or so of them from the first root you run up, then run through the center and up that root. They won't be able to damage you from up there - and with 2 - 3 of them "attacking" you at the same time they'll kill each other off. Then just finish off whoever's left with arrows.

I noticed right away that they couldn't hurt me when I was up on a root, so I just used that method to clear them out. Took like 10 minutes to clear the whole area.

Sif is dead :( I have lots of transient curse (about 17) that should be good right?

That's plenty. You can get by with two of them for the whole area if you're quick and don't die. They also drop fairly consistently as well.

Yeah, that's plenty. Going down is key, but water is a problem, so it has to be drained. Sif dropped a ring, it will be important when you find a place where you can no longer go down.

Crystal Ring Shield will pretty much do them in. If you've killed the
moonlight butterfly
and have a shield at +10 you can make this. Just equip your highest DPS weapon in your right hand and you'll kill them in like... 3 - 4 shots tops.

That sounds awesome. Someone needs to make a FAQS on over-powered equipment like this.
I need to remember all this when I get he game (I'm waiting for the guide book first).

I was too nervous to try any ballsy plays like that, I had 6 Humanity on me when I went in there, so I just took it slow.

So, I was invaded today for the first time after kindling the bonfire before the Taurus boss. It didn't feel very fair. The guy had some helmet that reminded me of the Monk's Head Wrap from Demon's Souls. He went at me, double-wielding daggers. His attacks didn't deal all that much damage but they were fast and relentless. The problem was that the few times I managed to get a hit in I did like 5 damage. I was playing a wanderer, who I think was level 6 or 7 at the time. How come I did so little damage.

At least, I should feel no shame for losing to him. I checked out his psn profile and he had plats in both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls.

I'm sad that I only got to play in human form for such short time. Even so, I am happy because overall I did some progress. The Taurus boss, two dark knights and
a super easy boar
are now all down.

People need to just stay out of the god damn forest then :3 I mean the only reason to do it is for the ring of fog and well if you need that to have a chance at anything LOL.

I'd make a FAQ, but I have nowhere to post it. It'd be gobbled up by the sheer pace this thread moves at, so would prove pointless in the long run.

Sounds like a higher level guy, and someone who's good with daggers can be crazy powerful as they don't use much stamina and can just hyper rape you.

What is about this chest that everyone keeps talking about? What's in it?

They're referring to her enormous tits that are animated in-game and go up and down with her breathing.

it's in reference to her feminine attributes.

This levity is something we all must suffer through since the game has been available on XBL.

The first time I read...

"Need Head"...I laughed.

After the twenty-seventh time however...

The only reason to go in that part of the forest is the soul-grind exploit.

It's almost like From Software knew what they were doing. Fine...grind souls here but if you come in as a human...boom.

I platinumed Demon's Souls without cheating.

Getting and being cursed with no souls at level 23 who has never even seen the dude who cures curse is making me want to quit.

I wont quit though. Ill play GT5 Spec 2 whoohoo instead.
