Question about beating the game, no spoilers please. Do I get a chance to reload my save after the final boss and explore more, or will it automatically start over with NG+?
Asking again.

The only reason to go in that part of the forest is the soul-grind exploit.

It's almost like From Software knew what they were doing. Fine...grind souls here but if you come in as a human...boom.

Ninja Ring >>>>>>>>> everything in that part of the forest (although the bow is nice too).

I platinumed Demon's Souls without cheating.

Getting and being cursed with no souls at level 23 who has never even seen the dude who cures curse is making me want to quit.

I wont quit though. Ill play GT5 Spec 2 whoohoo instead.

How is that any different to playing Demon's Souls in soul form? 50% hp in both games.

The game is about patience and skill. How is this zone a waste of your time? That shit was exciting to me. Felt like well a chase scene from Jurassic park or some shit.

Early on it felt much better designed, but now I'm constantly running into poorly designed areas like dino-ville and this Bed of Chaos boss. I don't mind dying repeatedly at this guy to learn his pattern and try to perfect my strategy, but the 2 minute hike back to him is really grating on my nerves. What's the point, it's not a test of my skill, I'm practically surfing the net while I run back and dodge all the enemies. I can feel my evening draining away at moments like this. The game is getting much more tedious at this late stage.

I'll never understand the poor design that went into bonfires in this game. On more than one area it will plop 3 within 15 seconds of each other, and then in other times it will make you go through a gauntlet of dog shit just to make it to a boss, and then for others it leaves a fucking bonfire right before the boss 10 feet away.

Fuck off.

well son, fog ring + the miracle ''slow-can't roll-i'm dead'' = pvp broken.
if they will nerf this pvp will not be broken anymore.

But that boss dies in one hit :(

How could anyone dislike Sen's Fortress? It's the pinnacle when it comes to map design in this game. It's got the atmosphere, the challenging enemies (both melee and caster-types), the traps, the maze-style environment, the boss, the environmental challenges and the secrets.

It's definitely what DkS needed more of.

.
I agree, Sen's Castle is the best zone so far (I just finished Anor Londo, which was great as well). I really loved all the traps. Though the boss was a little too easy maybe.

Just entered The Painted World. I love it, but I really need some sleep now.

I don't understand. That boss literally takes 30 seconds to kill.

I didn't have that issue with mine. (360+install)

Maybe because I wasn't changing the perspective to look down (because why? Everything is coming at you from the level you're currently on mostly)

There were moments were it slowed but nothing that warranted the cries of dismay/displeasure that I've seen here.

yeh i've noticed too it can really depend on where you're pointing the camera. bit of control goes a long way to managing the frame drops.

Okay, so I have a questions for folks here. I need some Titanite Slabs, as many as I can get. I've already gotten the one from the Stray Demon in the Undead Asylum, so that one is accounted for. I guess the only real place I have left to try is the super-rare drops that you supposedly get from Darkwraiths in the New Londo Ruins.

I have the Golden Covetous Serpent Ring, but is there anything else I should be wearing/getting in order to increase my already slim chances of getting the drop?

Nito was a cake walk as well. Got him 2nd try. First try had no flasks due to the distance from the fire to the boss. Used up humanaties, kindled fire so I would have more than 5 juice, then did a run to the area past the giant four skeles. After that a little sniping on those electro shocker cunts, and made it with 8 flasks ready to go on boss. Easy peesy when you avoid the giant dicks in the tomb. :)

That I suck at him isn't really my point. Like I said, I don't mind him killing instantly and repeatedly

shrug, don't get your point. If somehow you manage to die on the boss, you can run back to it easily. The game hasn't changed at all, yet you're complaining :P

Awesome! Well done! Just killed him last night. Felt sooooooo good. Never felt this good about killing something in a game before.

So I saw my first Pyromancer trainer in Blighttown awhile back and he started attacking me so I killed him. I had only upgraded my Pyromancer Flame to +3 and haven't saw the second trainer. Am I screwed?

Nope.

The Chaos Covenent behind an illusionary wall next to the 2nd bell has an npc who if you say "yes" to when asked if you're a servant, will be able to upgrade your pyromancy flame to +15. Also, backtracking from there to the swamp, on a small piece of land across from the giants with boulders on the shore is the Pyromancy master who not only sells more spells but can upgrade your flame another +5 to +20.

Is there a bonfire in Sens Fortress? Also, whats with the deadend room near the
Bomb throwing golem?

Edit: Also, how do I
get to the golem dropping boulders? Do I jump?

Anyone know the exact location of Tranquil Walk of Peace in the Catacombs, and also can you join the gravelord cov. after you kill
Nito
??

Is there any benefit to upgrading regular shields down an elemental path aside from boosted element resistance?

Elemental resistance doesn't get boosted. Shields don't get upgraded defensively aside from the stability rating, so making a "Divine Spider Shield" is pointless, unless you plan on using the shield as a weapon.

So, if I'm in blighttown and used all my toxic cures I'm fucked?

Yeah, just take your time. If you're spending any time on the bottom level near the water, just take it slow and use the exposed ground for protection and wait for your poison level to decrease.

You still have access to mp in Demon's Souls and get cured of soul form if you complete a mission. In Dark Souls you lose access to mp outside of certain (forest) clan stuff.

Does anyone know where I can find
Havel's Armor
in Anor Londo? Been searching Google for it and coming up with jack.

Not sure why you're telling me this :P

So I'm level 28 hanging out with my sign near the bonfire before the gaping dragon. I've been summoned once to help, didn't take too long. Maybe 20 min?

Just wondering what I can do to increase my chances of being summoned?

Am I way too high to be summoned for gaping dragon?

Love the painted world, its easy to get to places, but has some tough spots. The painted world boss can be pretty tough if it gets you in the back, which is obvious I guess, but you'll see, doesn't have much life though.

I think I've only played for about an hour so far but Im upto some part where im just killing those standard enemies, the same ones ive allways seen so far, but I got to a part where I saw some black armored bigger guy in some narrow corridor maybe a knight or something with a huge sword (claymore?) and he keeps owning me.

Should I just skip him?

The Bed of Chaos boss killed me 7 times in a row. Could be a build thing...(does shield help a lot?). He is suppose to be easy right? Well you can cheap him out slowly because the game even saves your progress against him. Ugh, I hate gimmick bosses and this one didn't even let me practice to the point where I could beat the whole thing without dying. Worst boss in the game, as gimmick bosses tend to be.

You can use blue stone to invade players as a hollow, btw.

Yes, skip for now. Dark Knights will not respawn when you beat them, and drop some nice loots, but as you progress you open up shortcuts between areas a lot and you'll be able to return. If you snipe the red dragon's tail and get the drake sword, the dark knights are do-able early on.

Probably do-able anyways, but they really do hurt.

Oh really? Nice. As for the boss, yeah you can block the swipes.

Did you
destroy the 2 glowing orbs on the side? It opens up the middle for you to get the killing blow

After defeating the final boss (nothing about story under here, but just in case for others)
there is a final normal bonfire that you must activate. If you don't activate it you can continue to play in the world and do whatever you want. Once you light the last bonfire, there's no turning back.

Uh no. If he walks out of
the room where the boss was is he gets the "evil" ending. You CANNOT kill the last boss if you want to keep playing your current game.

Because this game has no cling ring (that I know of). I never ran around with 50% health in Demon's Souls. I had my cling ring on. 50% vs 75%. That's pretty different.

What would be the best place to farm souls at this point? I was thinking the Parish Knights but I see myself dying if i accidently aggro more than one enemy ever.

So I got cursed by the basilisks in the depths. My heart dropped. Then I realized the woman merchant and the other dude under the bell sold what I needed.

Love this game. I got the guide too and it's very detailed. It's filled with spoilers in a sense it tells every detail of every single enemy, boss, NPC, and equipment. It also has a section on how to get the trophies.

Am I supposed to be at the gaping dragon? I'm level 26 and have defeated Capra demon, but the hits I get on gaping dragon do absolutely no damage. It would take me like an hour to finish him off.

Really, I don't remember people mentioning this.
I thought the only penalties were you couldn't summon phantoms & your drop rate from enemies was lowered.

Having no MP sucks.
