There is a "Ring of Sacrifice" and a "Rare Ring of Sacrifice", you had the former, you needed the latter. That area is garbage anyway, I would just leave tbh.
That doesn't work either actually if you try to do it post curse. I think the rare ring of sacrifice only works if it shatters on the death that was caused by curse maybe?

I for sure tried this:
got cursed
put on rare ring of sacrifice
purposefully died
ring shattered
still cursed

I think I need to revisit Blighttown. Since i'm done with the area
and got my ass roasted by Ceasless
I decided to check out the strategy guide section of it. Looks like I missed another area
Great Hollow
and a shortcut. Also imagine my surprise when I returned to Firelink to find
the flame keeper killed? Wtf, Latrec? I guess you have to be human and in Anor Londo to use the Black eye orb
?

Huh, neat. Then yeah, probably only if you die from the curse. I wonder if you're cursed and die from curse again if it works.

No, it's a specific area in Anor Lando, it will notify you when you can use it.

If/When they start on Dark Souls 2, they really need to drops the whole Demon's Souls way of player interaction, summoning, invading etc and expand way more on the Covenants. I really think they have to try something else for later sequels.

All the covenants are such gimmicky crap in this game, they could have been something really neat, but all of them feel incomplete, and some are almost completely pointless.

For the next game they should limit it to 2-4 covenants, light/dark horde/alliance duality thing with 2 of them, one for co-op, and one that works like the forest/darkmoon area specific PVP.

Then focus as much attention to them as possible, make it give great benefits for joining, a large pool of rewards for all manner of classes, possibly some negatives, and actual penalty for breaking the covenant. Maybe even make it very difficult to join one, like you have to go though some crazy trials to prove yourself.

Yea, i agree. I join every covenant, buy everything they have, then join the next one. They should make it very difficult to join and better rewards

More character mobility would be great. Get them playing Assassin's Creed for a while and add some of the basic parkour stuff to make getting around more interesting. Add more variety to the parry/riposte menu and add dismemberment while they are at it.

I am not sure what engine they use but for Dark Souls 2, it had better be a marked improvement.

They should also play/check out WoW and start having bosses with more interesting phases of combat, especially when you have more than 1 player.

Just my own thoughts though. Still in Tokyo and my copy of Dark Souls is at home still wrapped up till December 3rd. :(
You haven't played it yet want changes as drastic and unnecessary as those mentioned? Bosses like WoW, what? Sorry but the souls needs nothing from other genres or series.

New Londo... My new bane...

IMO they should make rewards better and harder to get, keep it easy to join, but make the consequences of leaving more dire.

Exactly!

Really interesting idea by not nearly fleshed out enough. I love the idea of joining a Covenant that is built around killing Invaders. I am sure people will hate the idea but pulling away from the "1 Dude alone in the world" could be a good change for Dark Souls 2.

They could still retain the feeling of being alone but still have a link to other players via the Covenants. They could go all the way and have Covenant towns etc, like PSO's style lobbies. I cannot be the only one that loves to check out what other players are wearing/using. :D

The catacombs boss...man, that boss...he could have been a nameless enemy, it would have been the same. 5 hits and he's gone.

However the normal enemies in the next zone are such a pain, and it doesn't help that the zone itself is quite awful ^^;

At least they stay dead even without a divine weapon.

Yeah, it does feel great helping those around you with bosses. I stood in front of the Bell Tower fog just laying down signs left after right. I got summoned a total of 12 times within a 30 minute period. Online is certainly thriving.

Knocked out Sen's Fortress and moved on to Anor Londo. Sen's was not really that bad once you went through the level a few times and The Iron Golem was pretty easy to read. I just rolled around and methodically dispatched him with the awesome Lightning Spear. I only have it at +4 and it is simply deadly. I love it.

As for Anor Londo so far, it is gorgeous and is providing a much needed change of scenery. It was smooth sailing here until I reached the dreaded sniper knights that everyone has been talking about that shoot harpoons from bows, while standing on narrow as hell ledges. After being destroyed a few times, I decided to take some advice I read and head back to get some poison arrows. I'll take care of those bastards tomorrow.

I'm about 30 hours into this game. During my playtime I was thinking this might be one the best games ever, but now that I have let it sink in, it definitely could have used a few small touches. I think more explanation of the world and the mechanics of the world would have done a great justice to this game. But that being said, its combat, the atmosphere, the character advancement, and the actual game part of it, is definitely one of the most fun and satisfying experiences I have ever played.

The way I got past them was running up close to the knight and right as he shoots the arrow, roll so that you dodge it, and once you get on him he'll take out his sword. Once this happens, just bring up a shield and stand close to the wall until the knight knocks himself off the ledge from hitting your shield. My friend was struggling with this part but got it first time when he did it like this.

Anyone else having a problem with the game taking like 10-15 minutes on first load up?

No, however there is some weirdness when I first start it up, like right before it shows the bonfire icon, for like a split second it shows a few graphical glitches at the very top of the screen, only seems to happen to this game, so no idea whats up.

Yeah, I don't think many people are having problems with my issue, but after the game loads up, the area still takes a few minutes to load, so all I see is a gray area and my character.

My friend did this after like 10 tries and got it first try.

I never thought of rolling on those ledges, but that indeed sounds doable. I am still going to pick up some poison arrows, but I might give this a try as well.

did you kill queelag and not ventured to lost izalith? because she showed up sometime near the end of the game
I just cleared
Duke Archives, Lost Izalith and Tomb of Giants.
I started upgrading my glove a bunch to prepare for NG+ and to mess around with it, but I wanted to just buy the base Fireball spell because I only have 1 slot.

She isn't behind the waterwheel. She's next to one of the stone pillars outside of the boss area, near the 3 rock throwing guys.
She's at the pillar that is closest to the waterwheel. Run around it and you'll see her.

Any ideas what a good summon spot for SL 68 would be? I was doing the Anor Londo boss a couple times around level 50, but I doubt that'll work very well now. I want to get in the one covenant but only have 8 faith, so I need to help ~6 more people IIRC.

Prepare to die.
Oh ye of little faith...I, uh yeah I died. Back to firelink. I hate my current predicament: I'm cursed so the boss in the depths is a bitch and going to the other place with the ghosts proves to be too difficult as well. And I can't afford to curse so yeah./

Ok, soul level 29 = average 10 min wait to be summoned for capra demon. Doesn't matter where you put the sign, people find it :D

Now I will test the gaping dragon. Hopefully its still around 10, but I suspect it will be much much longer.

Yeah that demon that surprises you is even stronger than ever. Some nice stuff there though.

Yep... someone is going to die by my hands real soon...

Waiting to be summoned at the gaping dragon around SL 34... wondering if i'm too high level

assisting people feels good! I wanna level grind so i can use the katana I found in blighttown >_>

Anor Londo has been a blast so far. I prefer the focus on fewer but much stronger enemies.

I bet the Bell Gargoyles for a friend using his appropriately leveled character, and man, realizing how much better I've got at this game in only a couple of days is amazing.

I pussed out against the Gaping Dragon and some awesome dude (Margules) came in and tail-raped the guy while I did about 30% of the damage. Very appreciated nonetheless.

Blighttown is a little bitch of awesomeness. The slow pace through those catwalks is just so good.

From should never stop making this series. I will play these games until I can't.

Quelanna is in the swamp and is the 2nd pryomancer you run into. She teaches all the spells that Laurentis has plus some more.
Actually she doesn't teach you all the spells he does. I wish that were the case though (as I was putting it off until later when I had a surplus of Souls, being that I'm a Wanderer dex build, I only wanted some of the utility spells).

*sigh* Hope I won't feel as if I need them later.

Damn, I summoned a few people at level 30 only to land an overleveled badass :D

I still made it hectic by trying to pull my weight but it was nice for the stress. Still, I would've liked a more normal co-op experience.
