I wonder what "the wall" will be for most people in this game? Capra Demon is probably the obvious choice, but I didn't have too much trouble. For me the wall is Blight Town.Took me forever. I just finally got the second bonfire, and I think I'm too tired to tackle the boss this evening.

Many thanks to Shuusui for spoiling that, it's not like I wanted to know or anything.

Oh my god, any tips for the double archers in Anor Londo? It's impossible.
Just run up there. Go for the one in the right; don't stop moving, get right up to him and make him knock himself off. Stopping to cast or to swing is suicide.

Ok, so I am all the way to the end of Ash Lake.

I don't have the
Lordvessel
yet so I can't warp.

I need to get back to Firelink Shrine to catch up on NPC chats and what-not. The guide simply says "if you can't warp, you'll need to head all the way back."

So, does that mean...

Ash Lake > The Great Hollow > Blighttown > The Depths > Undead Parish > Firelink
(spoiler'd just to prevent spoiling people of areas that are coming up next I guess) Or am I forgetting about a shortcut somewhere that will get me back much quicker?

If so, ugh I really hope I can make it back lol...

Go up the right side, take out the right archer in melee, you're home free. Go back for the left one if you want the loot behind him. Most important thing is to just keep a steady pace and the arrows should miss you.

Poison arrows, there is an angle where you can poke out and hit one and it can't hit you, I think it is the one on the right. Get it poisoned then wait it out. You can ignore or take out the other one when it is by itself pretty easily

yup, you have to go back

I have a question, if I kill all the people in Firelink, will that have any consecuences for me? I'm at the end of the game just need to go through one more area and I'm done. Will it affect my ending? Also will it affect my NG+?

Update: Soul level 29. Average summon time for capra demon = 10 min. n=5

Average summon time for gaping dragon = I havn't been summoned yet (30 min have passed).

I wonder why? Am I the wrong level? Or do that many people rely on summons for capra?

There is another way back from Blighttown to Firelink... spoiler just in case.

Take the waterwheel between the last bonfire and Quelaag up and the exit leads to Valley of the Drakes > New Londo > Firelink. The only difficulty is the toxin shooters, but if you take them out one at a time, it's a better way, I think. They don't come back once you've killed them.

I thought about that. I don't have a curved sword up to +10. >.> That's a lot of farming... And I have about 160,000 souls sitting in a smear inside that boss room.

Go grab your souls and use a homeward bone (have it set up as the use item for square or whatever.) You'll go back to your last fire and still have your souls.

I'm SL 100 and my story progression is at the point where I just
got the "quest" to fill the vessel with souls
. I guess I got a little carried away with farming...

My GOTY for 2011 unless something changes in the latter parts...

lol wow, I thought I was bad, I'm just dragging my game out, having so much fun experimenting with weapon upgrades and character progression, I obsess over that stuff in most RPG's and Dark Souls can make you a fiend for it.

So I'm in Andor Londo and then
went into the painted world
. Is there anything of value
in the well. These spinning skeletons are really annoying
. Also do I have to go past the
zombie dragons to leave?
I killed one and saw another in the distance.

You need to go in the well to finish that world, there's a switch you have to flip. There's a key to an area with some good weapons/armor though.

Ok, finally got summoned to help gaping dragon. Soul level 29, it took 45 min :D Good thing I had MLG to entertain me.

I'ma give it another go, see if it was just a fluke maybe?

So I beat the Ceaseless Discharge and ventured on a bit but I'm doing like, 40 damage a hit against these tough enemies so I ran past them all the way down and found a big doorway that I can't get past. Blocked by the great lords might or something. Should I continue on or go somewhere else? I'm soul lvl 41 with most of it going into end (40 end, 14 vit, 16 str) still using the Drake Sword and a shield.

Anor Lando is your next stop, through Sen's Fortress.

When you get to the blacksmith there or possibly beforehand, you're gonna want to ditch that Drake sword for something better.

Thanks.

EDIT: Oh wow. I missed the second bell. I thought it was a trap or something or just an elevator switch. >.<

I just cleared
Duke Archives, Lost Izalith and Tomb of Giants.
I started upgrading my glove a bunch to prepare for NG+ and to mess around with it, but I wanted to just buy the base Fireball spell because I only have 1 slot.

well she should show up around where the 3 fatties with rocks are

There's a bug where the body of
that dragon stays on the bridge
. Just do a jumping attack to get past it.

Sen's Fortress has a sexy lightning spear with a pretty high drop rate from a mimic (thought it was 100% but some people claim they didn't get it), good replacement for drakesword unless you want to stick to swords.

Yea, I know, I saw messages right next to where she should be that said "Master", etc... But she wasn't there, not a big deal, just a little inconvenient.

The story/history of Dark Souls is incredible. It told piece by piece, with seemingly unimportant conversations and item descriptions.

Haha yeah you want to ring that. :P Now you've got Sen's or you can do Stray Demon/forest stuff if you haven't.

Yeah, the bit of information in the Darkmoon Covenant item (the ring I believe) is pretty surprising actually.

Funny/sad invasion encounter I just had... I think this is case evidence that reading too many guides/forums to learn about shit ahead of time does not work in your favor in this game... for the most part... anyway...

I just did an invasion in the forest for the
Darkmoon
Covenant. I'm running around the forest trying to find the target, I notice that nothing in the forest is dead, and this guy is nowhere to be found, then out of nowhere I get backstabbed by a guy wearing the Fog ring. It's clearly a thief wielding a dagger so I'm thinking shit! I'm fucked. Thief's have the most deadly backstab in the game right? No, this guys backstab barely takes 1/20th of my HP... lol. My half-armored character is like Havel the Rock to this guy...

After seeing how little damage his attack does he runs for the hills, I follow and cast Walk of Peace as he runs right into a pack of the bush monsters, who proceed to kill him with 3 swings... wtf...

How did this weak ass guy end up with the Fog Ring so early? How did he even end up in this part of the forest? He's probably not even strong enough to fight the black phantoms in this area, let alone kill 3 of the typical guys you end up fighting protecting the forest. Anyway this encounter struck me as a bit weird and random so I thought I'd share.

Wait, did you clear
Lost Izalith
? Because I think
she or somebody wearing the same robes attacks you outside the boss door in there. I don't think she shows up after that.

I'm in
The Depths,
at the moment.
All this talk about the
cursing frogs
is making me consider to not go ahead, just go back out and hide in firelink shrine forever.
Also, how do i get face to face with that motherfucker of
a Necromancer who's buffing the gaping dragon?
I'm too slow to kill him with my bow, i need a MAP!

I haven't had a single freezeup. Hopefully your system isn't on the fritz.
Doubt it. This is the only game that's giving me problems. It'll just hang in some moments and continue on. I've never had a full on freeze where I had to restart the console. I was looking up this issue earlier and I read it might be related to some sort of glitch in the game's netcode. Maybe it's because I'm using WiFi?

I cleared it out, and killed that person, I was led to believe they weren't the same person, but I didn't talk to her to get her little quest so she is probably gone for this playthrough.

:/

I have had freeze ups... I don't know why...

Don't normally ask for anything, but...

Would any kind soul with photoshop skills be interested in helping me make a nice little TwitchTV banner for my stream? Just got a BlackMagic Intensity Shuttle capture card and I'm gonna throw up a HQ 720p stream for everyone. Get a DS marathon going up in here.

Shoot me a PM. Thanks.

Is there anything in particular that you're doing when it freezes? I've had one freeze and it happened when the game was loading the ghostly preview of a player when I stepped near a summon sign. It was only the game itself that froze, too, I was able to pull up the XMB and shut down the system from there rather than having to physically shut it off.

Can you kill Darkwraiths without being cursed?

Once you get to the bottom floor of New Londo, are there any more ghosts? Just wondering if I can purge myself now that I'm on the bottom floor or if I will need to be cursed again here.

update: Soul level 29, just got summoned twice after only waiting 3 min. at gaping dragon.

Super fast 25,000 souls!
Feels like once the summons get rolling they come fast. It's like the lobby fills up or something.

There's another way to get the ring of fog, you can trade something to snuggly for it

No, not really. I think it has something to do with streaming online content into your game. I'll try offline mode when I get off of work and see if it still happens.

Like I said, it'll just hang for a bit and then continue running. I've never had to restart the console for this. Never.

Yeah you're good once your on the ground floor. Darkwraiths are regular enemies, and the only other enemies are those "mass of souls". There might be 1 more group of ghosts right before the fog door leading to the boss, but I was just running past them at that point.

Yeah but the trade item is the Skull Lantern, which you get from pretty deep in the Catacombs.

The Darkwraiths are just dudes in scary armor, don't let them fool you into thinking they're supernatural. That's what they want you to think.

There are actual ghosts down there, though.
