So I'm back at Firelink, after dying again in New Londo.. and all the ghosts I see.. Soul Glitching... hahahahahaha

I am in anor londo and getting kind of rocked. I don't think I should be here yet. I'm going to take an alternate path to see what I can find. Thanks for the tips on the ember, I haven't been to that place yet but I'm going to head there now.

The lack of a bonfire in New Londo is quite aggravating, and the path through Valley is not much of a shortcut, figuring what you have to take out on the way.

I was having fun until this point, but man.. so many damn Darkwraiths down on the ground there..
You can't even fight the boss in New Londo until late game, so there's not a HUGE reason to go down there early. You can always do a suicide run to get the more useful items early on.

Actually, if you're brave enough, you can probably do a suicide run to the two spots you need to go to unlock the shortcut for the area.

Bit of an odd question but is there anything useful I can spend souls on in the early game?

Currently SL31 and right before the Gaping Dragon. After getting smashed by my first invader I decided to follow some people advice and concentrate on good equipment and not raising my levels. I've spent the last 2 evenings farming the coridoor near the bonfire for Titanite and in the process I've helped 21 people beat the Gaping Dragon meaning I now have 26 active humanity and around 230,000 souls

Is there anything useful I can spend these souls on before I proceed with the game? I'm terrified to die and lose them all! I already have my Pyromancy glove at +15 which is going through Gaping Dragon like a knife through butter. Should I just stock up on items from vendors like large/fire/poison arrows?

I juste killed Blighttown boss. What's the easiest way to get out of there?
Quelaag's Domain
I don't want to climb back all the way to the depth.

Make sure you find
the hidden covenant here with the bonfire
, when you exit Quelaag's Domain, stick to the left wall, you will get to the water wheel elevator.

The area itself isn't that bad so I'm assuming you're saying that because
without beating Anor Londo you can't warp out and have to work your way back up?

How do I upgrade my broken straight sword to +10? I disappeared from my upgrade list after +5. I really want upgrade it to +10 so I can forge it into the Greatsword of Artorias

Upgrade a bunch of your best gear, buy as many spells as you can use, or plan on using in the future, then use the rest to level up. Poison Arrows are great for some areas, so I like to have about 50 on me most of the time. Buy the smith boxes for use at Bonfires as well. Maybe some keys too.

That's because you need to modify it with a blacksmith.

For those of you still attempting to obtain the
Dark Wood Grain Ring
, I figured out a way to fight the ninja solo without absolution. I unfortunately got my ass kicked in Blighttown by Shiva and my thief just wasn't damaging the ninja fast enough to kill him. I broke my covenant and I wasn't about to pay up to clear my sins. At least not at this point.

To do this you need to enter the Darkroot Garden from the Darkroot Basin ladders. As soon as you get to the top, cross the bridge where the three huge cats used to be (I hope? Make sure you kill them if you haven't done so already!).

Now, make your way over to the back end of the broken down structure where Alvina resides. Make your way up the stairs but DON'T cross over the bridge where she's sitting in the window. Instead, position yourself right at the top of the stairs where the bridge begins and pull out your bow. Aim next to the outside left corner of the building that Alvina is in and take your shot the bow.

Since you cannot fully see the ninja, it may take a couple shots but once you hit him you'll see him start to run. Now, SLOWLY walk across the bridge (But DON'T go into the building. STAY ON THE BRIDGE!) As you get closer, work with your camera and you'll be able to see his transparent body moving around a bit. Step a bit closer and you should agro him - then run back across the bridge and get on some solid fighting ground. Doing this wont agro Shiva or any other members of the Kitty Brigade so you'll have yourself a nice 1-on-1 battle.

Enjoy the ring!

It's not that bad, I took the time to get everything in the zone and the zone after before I even knew anor londo existed haha

Here is what I do, join the covenant, walk up kick him off the cliff, go back to bonfire, walk back to get my ring. and done.

This. I'm pretty sure the official guide tells you to go there way earlier than you should if you are following it chronologically. Not sure what their reasoning was on that one.

"Siding with Kaanthe is considered the "bad" ending of the game."

What, seriously? I have to beat the game the 'bad' way to get a frickin invasion stone? Fuck you, game. I want to be able to invade others. FFS.

Also. The guy that was waiting at the beginning of New Londo
- it dawned on me that that's the guy from Firelink as I had killed him :o Is this supposed to happen??

anyone?

That is definitely the easiest, but for those of us who have already broken the covenant - my way is the easiest way if you don't want to pay up for absolution and start over. I figured I'd sin a bit more before I pay up. haha

I went before Anor Londo, but when I reached Ash Lake I forgot to activate the bonfire there and then fell off the edge and died, putting me back at the top of The Great Hollow.

QisTopTier said:
But... there is a ladder that leads from near the bottom almost to the top >.>

Yeah, it was all gravy once I found that ladder. However, I didn't find it until after I had to come back up, and that was after a hell of a lot of dying :(

yeah it does. I never ran into any issues getting in or out, and never got cursed, but having the warp option to get out would make things so much easier. I still need to go back through there to pick up some items I missed the first time, definitely waiting until I finish Anor Londo now.

K' Dash said:
WHY?

I visited it and got cursed like a billion times, but I want to hear your opinion.

It is insanely difficult to walk out of there the normal way, but after Anor Lando you can teleport back to Firelink Shrine from anywhere.

Is there a weapon upgrade guide for the trophies? Wasting ores in this game is tantamount to grinding for hours in the future.

Also, what do you guys recommend spending my demon ores to upgrade?

Is the ability of modifying weapon to occult/enchanted/fire/divine/etc inherited in NG+?

nope, just need the right embers and blacksmith to upgrade down those paths.

I don't even know where Great Hollow IS, and I finished Anor Londo like 15 game hours ago. :lol

Giant tree at the bottom of Blighttown in the swamps. Walk up the branch to a chest and hit the wall behind it to reveal the path.

In blighttown there is a root you climb up into a tree to get a treasure. There are two fake walls behind the treasure. Then you have an interesting climb down. That area is depressing, but cool.

oh my god some fucking asshole invaded me but wouldn't come out of the forest area with the huge stone giants and actually fight me, so I was forced into going in there and fighting him and the other enemies. would've won if this weren't NG+ but damn, that was just a dick move.

Getting owned in PvP, how do I make magic do less damage? Is there a good magic resist shield?

I was also fighting a guy who had full stone armor and was about to do a cartwheel, like he was wearing light armor. How do I make myself able to do that?

This is why you plug in your controller for boss fights like I do.

After 55 hours, I just have to say, this game has the most beautiful worlds and level design of any game I've ever played. The Ornstein and Slough boss fight deserves an award by itself.

So guys, going out of blightown, by the valley of the drakes, I noticed a dragon, should I take a shot at it?

Outside of Blighttown, I agree. I find Blighttown unpleasant AND ugly.

Ya not only is it a huge pain to walk out of Ash Lake + Great Hollow, but you can get cursed there and there are really strong enemies there.

Crest Shield blocks 80% of magic, it's what i'm using. It's in the return trip to undead aslyum IIRC

Yes, it's supposed to happen.

Why?

He DID say the smell was driving him insane. MAYBE HE WASN'T EXAGGERATING O_O

Or maybe there are three or four things in the game that are fairly confusing and are either something mysterious that you're supposed to fill in the blanks yourself... or they are just weird glitches but are the same for everyone.

You can hit reg enemies... I'm referring to NPC's who have a "talk" option... a lot of them are merchants and other important things.
