44 Divine Blessings, lol. Sums up current Dark Souls PvP. The early demo footage from pre-release was similar. Foreshadowing!
Edit: lol @ 4:05 in the video.
Are the high res shots supposed to be like that? Look like shit with much pixelation/weird edges.

Retail release for consoles is already confirmed for JP and EU, in addition to the DLC. Only DLC for NA confirmed so far.
You know, I never understood this item duping glitch. Doesn't it require you to have 99 of the item in the first place? How the fuck does somebody get 99 divine blessings?
How will the DLC be executed? Seperate campaign, unlocked after completing the game or available from the get go accessed via an added passageway (that may or may not be locked until you beat the game...)?

Yes, this is how I'm starting to feel about it. I'm certainly disappointed but I feel too invested in wanting it on PC to give up on it fully. And there's always the dubious yet tantalizing possibility that fans will come up with a solution.
Ok for all the people writing off the PC version, here's a report from someone who has experienced the game first hand at Gamescom

AAANNND because I feel we should have all the press, here's another positive preview of the PC version from Destructoid

From Softwares reasoning behind this is because they wished to offer an equal experience to its console counterpart, in terms of visual fidelity and gameplay

And yet it isn't equal anyway since we're getting a smoother frame rate.
This line of reasoning just makes me saltier...
Eh, sorry, but those are pretty terrible impressions. Also, whoever's buying the "equal experience to console" is gullible beyond help...Ok for all the people writing off the PC version, here's a report from someone who has experienced the game first hand at Gamescom

Whatever dude, you don't try in the slightest to understand what the problem is and accuse us of bitching like we're complaining about a shallow thing. It's not, it's like FOV, it ruins the game for a lot of people, it can give you a headache, and it's inexcusable in this day and age.Or you know, to play the game on a system they have, not everyone has a console. Or to play the game to have fun on the system they prefer. Not everyone gives a rat's ass over the things you're all bitching about. Oh I miss the days when it was just play video games and have fun.

Those days ended when I had to start spending my own money on games, not my parents'.Or you know, to play the game on a system they have, not everyone has a console. So we pc master race still hate it?
Yeah, claiming it to be the "worst port in years", while I can see the rationale to an extent, is still ridiculously extreme to me, but this really does sound like a misguided attempt at parity from developers that come from a culture that doesn't really get PC gaming, even the shallowest levels of it. Or it's just a nice way of hiding the fact they had serious troubles upping the resolution/FPS, maybe we'll see once people start picking apart at the game. Both sides are getting a little out of hand, and while the port might be perfectly playable, I dont think that people complaining arent well within their rights either.
Completely depends on your opinion on cinematic framerates, vaseline and Games for Windows Live.So we pc master race still hate it?
Oh, misread what you meant Dricula, I thought you were commenting on the fact that it took them forever since the game dropped to start with the DLC.

However, this may just be my opinion but shouldn't this kind of talk be redirected back to the original previews thread? It'd seem nice to concentrate the bile there and let something like this stay at least somewhat positive.
PC is in a lose-lose scenario right now, so really doesn't matter if the game does well or not. If it sells, we just said to FROM (and more importantly Bamco) you can give us a shoddy port and we'll still take it. They might make their next game a decent port, but I can't really expect anything from them after this. If it doesn't sell, Bamco will blame piracy like they always do.I don't deny the reasoning and the lack of the resolution and fov stuff is stupid, not once have I dismissed the stupidity of it. But I'm not going around calling it the worst port ever, and wishing financial troubles on From Software for following an online petition. Is it going to be a terrible port? By pc 'standards' sure, and I'll stand in line saying it should be better. I guess I'm just lucky that I've been able to play games at their default FOVs and stuff and not get sick or anything.

Wel maybe because I play my pc in a tv (a 58 inch panasonic plasma) but: I see little diference between 30 and 60 FPS, 720p and 1080p.
Resolution maybe, but I still find it hard to believe people cant tell the difference between 30 (Sonic Adventure 1, Halo 1/2, Soul Edge) and 60 (Sonic Adventure 2, Soul Calibur, Call of Duty, Time Splitters 2/3). Display really doesnt matter as far as that goes (as far as i'm aware).
I tried it today with resident evil 5, I can see the difference between 30 and 60 fps, 60 fps is better. But I don´t think that 30 fps is unplayable or something like that.
That idea I can get behind, though we're pretty much past delays or pre-release fixes. The main reason I really pop out is to tell people to wait on this, since Bamco and FROM have done nothing to convey the smallest of trust.I did complain, I signed the "improve the game petition" and even sent Namco a letter adressing my concerns as I mentioned earlier. The problem PC gamers have as I see it is they accept the binary options listed just now. Considering the port the game petition actually worked in this case. I see it as if we keep contacting them and voicing concerns, while proving the pc is a viable market for this kind of game, then we could break the binary choice and actually get closer to devs/publishers to release quality software on pc.
Wishful thinking? Oh most likely yes, but trying to do so is better than sticking to a webforum or two that anyone who actually matters in the industry most likely never looks at.
Complain away, I don't care if you do. I'm just saying instead of doing it here all the time, tell the companies themselves. Who knows, might actually get somewhere.
As for the framerate issue, I never had a problem with 30/60 being unplayable/playable and whatnot. Growing up on the Commodore 64/128, then the Amiga, and then PC, I've grown up with playable framerates being in the 20s, due to being a budget gamer, only within the last 4 years have I been able to play new games at solid 30s+ framerates at the time of release. Again I just must be lucky that kind of thing doesn't bug me. Nothing against those who it does of course, everyone is different.

It's not my job to get them to get me to want to give them money. The best thing we can do is let this port bomb and laugh at them when they go out of business for being bad at their job.

They made one of the BEST games in recent years, the port sucks but it is easier a good port that a good game.
Great. It sucks I'll be missing out on a great game, but it's not my fault. Their job is to convince me it's worth playing over every other game on the market, and they've failed to do that, so I'll spend that money elsewhere.
