Agreed. Weird by itself. Especially at that price.1+2 would've made more sense I think.

I remember when people were laughing about the Wii U Port because of old game getting ported. And now everybody is "Oh cool, I will buy it" "Good, guess I will play it again."
This Industry.
Unless there's a fairly notable upgrade to the game beyond just res/framerate, I think its a fair statement. You've been able to buy this game for $5-10 on PC for quite a while and it doesn't take a whole lot to play it at 1080p/60fps. So its a bit insane to suddenly start asking $40 for it from users of other platforms. So you'd prefer they give games away then? Tell me more about your business model.
Am I the only one who's getting a bit tired of so many last-gen games getting "remade/hd upgrade" for next gen?
Amen.Singular game remasters need to stop.
If you have other games in the series from the same generation, bring that shit over too.
I know right. Like there hasn't been a single new IP or AAA game released in the last year. Ugh!
Took 110 posts before this post showed up. Getting rusty GAF.
No. There isn't. Every new game coming out is a remaster.
EVERY.
SINGLE.
ONE.
The "I hate remasters" crowd has uncovered this conspiracy that all of these new games coming aren't really happening and are just re-releases from last gen.
They know the truth.

This year looks better than last but I'm just tired of seeing this shit. Fuck me and my opinion though right?
I'm really starting to wonder if keeping new releases to 30fps is being done on purpose, so they can resell the remastered edition in the following generation.
I wouldn't put it past a single one of these greedy fuck publishers. And notice how they're pushing boundaries on giving you less for your money now? Like everyone should happily open their wallets again for 1080p/60fps.

Good lord man, c'mon. They are trying to push visuals on the systems they are built for - that's why they're 30fps. Its no surprise when later generation systems that are orders of magnitude more powerful can play them at twice the framerate.I'm really starting to wonder if keeping new releases to 30fps is being done on purpose, so they can resell the remastered edition in the following generation.

Can we make new games instead of milking these games....
The problem I have with your opinion and many others is that you guys have expectations of systems in their second year equivalent to a system in it's sixth year.
Compare this year to Year Two of the PS3/360 and you will see that we are getting a TON more new games than we did in Year Two for either the PS3 or 360.
For the last time that's not how that works.
People keep saying this as if these remasters just spring forth from the ether, fully developed and packaged. Yeah, obviously it doesn't take nearly as much time to do this as it does a brand new game, but it doesn't change the fact that someone, somewhere is spending time working on this.

Somewhere like Bluepoint where the studio exists for contracted port jobs and never makes new games at all? I dont know whose doing the port job but doing in-house port jobs rarely happens and thus doesnt take resources away from new games.
I see it like this:
Remasters = Reworks (actual gameplay difference, touches to the textures, etc...)
Definitive Edition = PC Ports + All DLC (or if we're lucky, they're better)
Collections = More than 1 game.
Darksiders was my favorite series last gen. If 3 comes I would be so happy.
From the Wikipedia for 2014 in video games, here are the next-gen remasters I encountered:
Tomb Raider
GTAV
Sleeping Dogs
Oddworld
TLoU
FFX/X-2
Halo: MCC
I was generous in giving FFX/X-2 since it was a generational "leap" from PS2 to PS3 as well as GTAV. That's six "remasters" out of how many releases? Hardly the torrent that should define 2014 as ". . .the year of Remasters".
Out of the dozens of games I played this year a staggering TWO of them were remasters.
Oddworld is a full blown remake, not a remaster. From the Wikipedia for 2014 in video games, here are the next-gen remasters I encountered:

Neat, but would have liked the 1st game more.

"Can you restore the 1080p60?"
They should update the PC version too so you can actually run the thing at 60fps.
Early parts of Darksiders 2 were okay but I felt like the game got worse as it went on. Loved the first game, was like a Zelda clone. Second one felt like a Kingdoms of Amalur clone
