DayZ - zombie apocalypse online FFA permadeath survival Arma II mod

Why does the Battleye website never have the most up to date version of Battleye available to download? I've been having problems all day with 1.166 and 1.167.

I found a truck on top of a mountain near the edge of the map filled with weapons and other supplies. I took the loot I wanted and borrowed the truck. tossed out all the remaining items randomly in a forest and filled it with garbage like cans. Then I beat the shit out of the truck so it barely worked and parked it back where i found it.
 
is there a pw on the gaf mumble now? i keep getting "Wrong password for registered users, please try again."

EDIT: for some reason i can't use my old screen name but when i use a new one it works fine
 
I really hope the framerate issues get ironed out soon. I love this game but I can't go anywhere near a city if I want to play at more than 15fps.
 
Had my first official play through today, plenty of equipment, weapons etc. Didn't know how to use the blood bags but I guess I'll learn.

Then..

all of a sudden any menu I went in just kept cycling as if i had pressed and held the left or down arrow key.

Had to just quit out of steam.

I pretty much lost everything i picked up right?

Did night get darker? I jumped on several servers today that were night time and changing my gamma/brightness didn't do anything to help.

Although it did help on GAF server last night.
 
I'm a dumbass. I keep forgetting to copy the arma2oa.exe file out the expansion folder after each update, and thinking the game is broke.
 
That was odd. The lights on my keyboard started flickering and then my character ran straight off a roof.

Where can I get the Mumble server info?
 
how do i jog? When i crouch/stand it walks at a snails pace. I know double tapping W sprints, and double tapping shift switches between the two movement speeds. Is this a custom server thing?`edit: restarting the game seems to have fixed it

how do i kill myself? I made a new character and have being wandering the forest for 20minutes....

SOMEONE TELL ME! Why did they get rid of the respawn button. Why am i always having to fight the game..
 
Was playing with my brother today. We found a truck, drove it for a while, and then got ambushed. I got out of the truck when the engine was disabled, and immediately died.

Has anyone else had this problem happen? Dieing when exiting? I "died" with 12,000 blood.

Really disappointed.

Lost gillie, coyote elite, NVGs, DRM, as550, and more stuff =(
 
Searching for the GAF server name doesn't seem to work for me. I know "NeoGAF" and "GAF" are no longer in the title, but what should I try searching for to find it? Tried the terms suggested hidden in the OP, doesn't show a server at all.

Try US 38.


What an odd day. Started off finding an M249 in a tent. Quickly exchanged it for an Mk 48 and AS 50 at a crashed heli. Was then murdered in some woods near Skalka. Spawned later, and was promptly shouted at to "STOP" on the coast. A guy clad in ghillie suit then dumped an AS 50 with a thermal scope and tons of ammo at my feet and shot at my feet until I picked it up. Then he spawned two barracks and a car. I ran, dumped the AS and swam to an island. Found a helicopter. Was given a british rifle with thermal scope. Went AFK and mik ended up dead. After a manhunt, watched the helicopter take off in all its glory. Road in a bus with slope and mob. We got off road and quickly got shot at. Then came the swooping helicopter, laying down covering fire. Then we found a hacker camp. Picked up a grenade to help destroy it. Went to pick up some food and ended up killing Hylian and myself with said grenade. Then got killed by Hylian as we were both in Cherno. Then got picked up by the helicopter in Cherno from the top of the grain elevator, with zombies in tow. Got dropped off in elecktro. Then found a pickup and teamed with slope. Went AFK for the trip to save mob, who was bleeding out. As soon as I came back I get shot by a .50 cal while we're driving. Spawned near elecktro. Found a Ghillie suit. Watched a four man shootout. Picked up an ak cobra. Shot at a man running about shooting others with a ghillie suit. He disconnected. Found a coyote elite on a man who had been shooting at others on top of the fire station.

DayZ fellows. Day Z.
 
I have never played on the GAF server at night

guess it's because my timezone is almost the opposite and I only have time to play the game at night
 
Damn, not having a good night, was helping out people in cherno with blood transfusions and getting people weapons went some asshat shot me with a sniper as i was trying to help someone being chased by zombies. Of course then the game proceds to spawn me in Kamenka 4 times in a row. I finally spawn in Elektro and within 3 mins i get shot even though all i had on me was my starting gear. Now its back to spawning in Kamenka again :(

Gonna have to go back to lone wolf killing everyone on sight.

Oh and i finally got mumble working but its late now so i think im gonna head off soon and come on tomorrow instead.

Ah I see, the GAF server isn't updated just yet to the newest version, so it doesn't show up on my filter. Found US 38 though!

How the hell do I turn on my flashlight. I swear it's bound to J. EDIT: Never mind got it, forgot to remove from toolbelt.

Final edit: Oh God DayZ at nighttime is so hard. Time to pack it in for the night it seems!

Haha, I saw you die a lot. That damn sniper got me too :( On my way back I ran into two guys in the woods by a fire, threatened to shoot me, but let me go because I told em I didn't have shit. Then made it back to town where I died and some dude in a church was telling people to stay the fuck away. I didn't want to just bolt, but I think he got confused and ended up killing me anyway :( He said sorry though, lol.
 
Fun times on the server with party-bus that became a tour bus as we got to watch a newbie get gunned down in his natural habitat.

Thanks to Hylian for the transfusion help, and who knew you could get run over and killed from a truck that isn't even moving!

Yeah, just want to get a weapon then ill log off for the night but theres people just mowing down people that have just spawned. Will give beans to whoever goes and clears out the bastards in Elektro murdering everyone !
 
can a M4A1 CCO SD use standard M4A1 CCO ammo?

also cow hit boxes are fucked. 6 shots with a rifle into the head and nothing. went to a different cow and two shots with my pistol up the rectum and dead.
 
Frustrating day. Logged in at Cherno and set up on top of the tallest building with my sniper, didn't see ANYTHING going on in Cherno for an hour, met Hylian on top of the building and then got picked off after waiting for an hour and seeing absolutely nothing.

Whatever. Next spawn I get picked up/dropped off by the chopper and got a ghillie suit, AS50, M14, and practically all tools out of the Olsha tents, spent two hours making my way to various places and then to Elektro, don't see a soul, finally get there and set up in my sniping position and within a minute I'm one-shotted dead by a sniper. Fuck me. Signed off for the night right then and there.

A chicken took a good 20+ hits from me with a hatchet. He did not want to let go.
 
Played a single life for 10 hours straight today, finally managed to get some weapons, a huge backpack, a ton of ammo/supplies and every necessary tool to survive and navigate, explored a huge chunk of the region, visited a ton of cool places, created a ton of nice videogame memories. Felt great to be properly equipped, to feel in control, I was in a state of zen at times while exploring, this is the videogame experience I've been waiting for so many years. In the end ventured into Chernosomething for the first time, and after exploring for a while I ended up fucking myself by pissing off a group of zombies, which then followed me into a some hotel bar that didn't have a second exit, and the self-defense gunfire lured a huuuuge horde that broke my legs (didn't know at the time that I had items to fix broken bones) and eventually finished me off. It felt quite the poetic ending to that long and memorable adventure laying there on the floor with the sound getting muffled and the image losing color, knowing that was the end, unloading all my ammo at the infinite zombies.

ARMA is a h/w whore - no matter what you throw at it it will find the weakest link...towns are bad due to all the caching required - that's why an SSD is often the best upgrade you can do...you only need a 60GB to fit OS & ARMA on or if you want to go cheaper just do ARMA + DayZ etc onto a dedicated 30GB SSD...I can confirm my sons PC went from a stuttery mess (in towns) to a far more consistent f/r.

Edit: Getting 6fps in a school right now. Go back to the main menu and get 60. I have no idea what's going on.

Edit 2: Ran the Arma2 benchmark and was getting up to 150fps. Looks like it's this problem is specific to DayZ.

not sure if the server 'age' has anything to do with performance issues still? I know at one point you where better off on newer servers as the longer they ran the slower they got.
