Dead or Alive 5 or Tekken Tag 2? ;_;

Two phenomenal looking fighters coming out next month. Would like to buy both, but they'll probably see heavy price drops in time for the holidays so...

Tekken is easily my favourite fighter and the original TTT holds a lot of nostalgia for me being one of my first PS2 games. Tag 2 looks like it could be the ultimate Tekken game.

But DOA5 just looks like it's taking it to the next level with the stage interaction and cinematic moves. The visuals are absolutely stunning too. I'm torn. :(

Which game does GAF choose?

Allthough I loved Tekken Tag on my PS2, I'm going for DoA5. I've always liked DoA the best, but I'm not an either or person really. I don't play so much beat 'em ups I need two this year so DoA5 it is.

Personally i'm going to sat TTT.
Game looks phenomenal, and if its even anything like the old TTT.
Should be hours of hours of tagging fun.

I'm very torn, but the bigger difference between the previous games in the respective series makes me lean more towards DoA5, not to mention the VF characters. I already have T6 on the PS3 anyway.

well i'm guessing the community for TT2 will be much bigger so i would go for it just for that reason.

DOA5 on launch for me.
TTT2 on pricedrop, also the Preorder DLC will be unlocked for everyone until then :P Win/Win situation

DoA 5 is a day 1 but given how bad Namco burned me with Tekken 6 I won't be jumping at TTT2 until a holiday amazon sale (inevitable.)

For me it will be DOA5 by a long shot. I always enjoy DOA games, yet Tekken is always hit or miss with me. I found myself constantly trying to enjoy Tekken most of the time and just cant usually these days.

I'll buy DOA first because of personal taste... I'll probably get TTT2 later, although I'm less into Tekken and didn't really enjoy T6 (but liked T5 a lot).

Played Tekken since the PS1 days, definetly going with Tekken this year. Although I really like DOA, the amount of different characters with completely different sets of moves and playstyles is the reason I think Tekken is the best 3d fighter.

Yeah, this is pretty much me. TTT 2 looks great, but it's basically Tekken 6 with more characters and a new mode. DOA has been away for a long time (ignoring the 3DS version) and it's come back with a new look and new direction. I like what I'm seeing.

Playing TTT2 for two weeks leading up to the release of DOA5. Always liked the DOA/VF style of 3D fighter more than Tekken, but I've got love for both.

DOA5 is a lot of new for me because I haven't played one since DOA2 whereas TTT2 feels very similar to T6 but with tagging. I got sick of T6 just by watching it here and there in tournaments.

So yeah, leaning towards DOA5.

Getting both...Tekken Tag 2 is autobuy for me selling a few old games to get DOA5

I much prefer Tekken over DOA (avatar bias)

Although I do enjoy them, I can't really dig into DOA games on my own. Will grab 5 later for some local MP

Tekken Tag 2 will pretty much DOMINATE me once it lands in my mail box. Not to say that there's no love for DOA but honestly its larger community and the fact that I'll be able to play Tag 2 in the arcade as well as at home pretty much seal the deal for me.

Ive been more of a Tekken fan my whole life and I haven't owned a DOA in over a decade and for that reason alone I am going with DOA.

I am really burnt out on Tekken and I don't think it's doing enough new or pushing 3D fighters forward whereas DOA5 looks like a major overhaul.

If I get either, it'll be DOA5, just because it's been so long since I played a DOA game, and this one's shaping up to be really good.

That said, I have still barely touched VF5, unfortunately.

I prefer DoA over Juggle any day, but really Juggle is probably going to be taken more seriously by the FGC so there's that if you're wanting "Evo" or whatever tournament level stuff there.

Depends.

If you weren't big into T6, you won't be big into TTT2, it's not very different. Tekken changes less than any other series. VF is awesome, and I can't promote that game enough. DOA looks like it could be awesome, but it needs to be released into the wild to see if it has legs.

If you can, I'd get all 3 though. I think VF is clearly better than TTT2 , and I think DOA could end up better as well. TTT2 isn't a bad game at all though- it's just something you've played before, wrapped in a very nice package. (If Namco hadn't done all those preorder specials, I might have passed on the game)

If you're going to hold off on anything, hold off on the Wii U. The Wii U will be around in six months to a year.

I think I'll be getting Dead or Alive 5 since the Amazon got the Collector's Edition for extra cheap then they removed from their site and now they sent a mail saying we will be getting this if we still have the pre-order.

I just hope it's worth it, I'm also bad at fighting games.
