Thanks. From watching DoA when CGS was around, I assumed DoA was ideally played on pad but the announcement of DoA fightsticks left me uncertain. I was very unsure about Tekken because the only top player that I know of who plays Tekken on pad is Rip (I'm not familiar with high-level Tekken).

yeah if DOA netcode is like MK9's then I'll be glad to return the game. I'm getting the game day 1 (newegg for 45) but I won't be opening it until I hear netcode impression.

Hopefully DOA netcode is at the very least SSF4:AE to SC5/P4A quality. I'll buy both games because I support fighting games. I have almost every major fighting game somewhere in my house at one point in time and will be glad to support any quality fighter.

I'm getting both. I've bought/played/enjoyed all the previous in both series. I'll try to get more into TTT2 seeing as how there's gonna be lots of local competition for it. DOA has always been lots of fun and friendlier for my casual friends and the addition of VF characters makes me happy.

No. Wished it was though so I could pickup some more games.
Also I wasn't aware that the past DOAs (excluding 3.1) were solid competitive fighters. I was always under the impression it was garbage from people like Tom Brady, PL, Rikuto and etc.

DOA2 was very good, just outdated compared to DOA3.

could probably pick it up for 50 if you follow cheapassgamers and see if Newegg does another promotion.
Newegg has done atleast 4 promotions since July that lowered the price of DOA5 to atleast 49.99

It's my opinion that every DoA aside from 4 are solid fighters. I'd say the best is DoA++ followed closely by 3.1. But they've all been good.
4 is ass.
I'd say one of the problems is public perception of DoA (tits, counters lololol), and shitty community representation: both in the number of people willing to show for tourneys, and those top players who, by virtue of being top players, get their voices heard.

Yup unlike Tekken for 3DS which I heard was ass. Tekken needs an especially tight netcode though, with the way throws and lows are handled. In Tekken 6 I could get away with throws like no ones business.
