1) I don't know if that's necessarily true.
2) A majority of people who like terrible shit doesn't make that shit less terrible.
There's a bunch of people on this forum who think Transformers: The Movie is a good film, too, for example.
Checking this out for sure, thanks. It's from Remender's Uncanny X-Force AKA the best X-Force comic AKA the best X-Men comic AKA a dam good comic.

PG-13 is pretty violent now, too. You can do a fuckin' ton with PG-13.
So much crying over a shitty movieBobby pissing off half of NeoGAF with his brutal criticism of Transformers the Movie will never stop being funny.

It's one of the worst theatrically-released animated films of the 80s. And not just in terms of storytelling (which is fairly awful) but in animation. It's fucking ugly way more often than not, on top of being mildly incoherent at most times.
It's only real effective sequence is the opening, in which the filmmakers take a shotgun to your toybox, which was more or less unprecedented at the time. That's the only real reason I've found for the film to have maintained any sort of cultural impact: The emotional effect on some boys at having their favorite toys being murdered "for real" onscreen really fucked them up. That speaks to the film's inability to work as a film as well - the only emotional heft it carries depends on you, as a viewer, having literally spent hours with the characters beforehand, making up your own stories with them on your bedroom carpet.
but it's a pretty shit-ass movie, all things considered.
Bah weep granah, weep ninny bon.
It's nice to see a passion project come to fruition this way, especially in the form of an adaptation with very particular needs. Hopefully audiences embrace the movie and make it profitable. I'd love to see more quirky Marvel movies that push the envelope.I didn't believe this would be good like the reviews are suggesting.
I'm happy for the production staff, particularly Ryan Renolds for pushing to make it happen and Tim Miller who directed the Blur Studios short that made it all happen and was given the opportunity to direct the movie.
The movie being good is just the cherry on a heartwarming cake.
Could be a good sign. When I think of Deadpool I mostly think of character driven antics, not an Avengers-style epic blowout.Am I alone thinking the "small scale" critic is in fact a positive ?
Yeah, um, guys, don't expect something on the level of Fury Road.
Nope, i think small scale is a big plus. What made the wolverine work, was that it wasn't about saving the world for once, but a personal threat.Am I alone thinking the "small scale" critic is in fact a positive ?
I won't expect anything on the level of No Country for Old Men or Godfather or The Hurt Locker either. Thanks for stopping by.Yeah, um, guys, don't expect something on the level of Fury Road.

Chris Structmann's review, he gave it a A+. Only movie he gave a A+ to last year was Mad Max Fury Road...Sounds good!
This is awesome. I love Stuckmann. Always on point in his reviews. This just made my hype go way up.
Wow, there's a surprise. Chris and I tend to be on the same page. This is encouraging!
I liked his review for Mad Max. Gives me hope Deadpool might be good.
Review scores shouldn't really be used as a comparison. At least by themselves.Cheers
No, they shouldn't, I just made that post because I saw people getting excited because this guy gave it the same score as Mad Max! and this film is not on the same level in any way.Review scores shouldn't really be used as a comparison. At least by themselves.
Ah I misread what you were saying then. No, they shouldn't, I just made that post because I saw people getting excited because this guy gave it the same score as Mad Max! and this film is not on the same level in any way.
Those sorts of expectations won't do the film any favours.

Most of the biggest laughs were for references to the Marvel movies or the comics. It's definitely a movie for fans.I'm seeing this next week with friends who are major fans, but I didn't laugh once from the trailer. I thought Iron Man was funny, but the delivery just didn't do it for me here. Maybe you have to be really into the comic book to fully appreciate the way he delivers the one liners?
I think most people are aware that movie reviews aren't about placing each movie in a hierarchy of all movies ever. The way I interpreted the score was that Deadpool does its own thing very well. No, they shouldn't, I just made that post because I saw people getting excited because this guy gave it the same score as Mad Max! and this film is not on the same level in any way.

None of the snippets in the OP even remotely point out that it's a great movie. They look like some extremely out-of-context quotes describing a specific part.
I want to read this run now.
Google image search identifies it as Uncanny X-Force #4, if anyone wants to know.
Holy shit

I'm so sick of seeing that dude's face and I've never watched one of his videos.
