You don't have to be stupid to enjoy low-brow humor. Even the smartest of people can laugh at a good fart every once in a while.
Yes, of course. Is there anyone in the world who doesn't like the Three Stooges?

As Hollywood struggles to reinvent their array of superheroes with each iteration, its no surprise that audiences would become hungry for something off the beaten path. While its not the first post-modern comic-book adaptation, Deadpool is billed as ushering in a new direction: a fan-spurred, self-aware tentpole thats R-rated to its core, featuring a wise-ass character (dont call him a superhero) whos fully cognizant of his outsider status in both the world he inhabits and Hollywoods comic-book sandbox writ large. Despite the excess of fourth-wall-breaking continually reminding us of both, Tim Millers directorial debut ultimately ends up feeling like another similarly structured, monotonous origin story, albeit with a more vulgar veneer.
Louis CK put it best. You don't have to be stupid to enjoy low-brow humor. Even the smartest of people can laugh at a good fart every once in a while.
I can see where condescension can be irritating, but calling out someone for being condescending doesn't really discredit what they're saying. I agree that stupid movies can be enjoyable and even excellent, but if you just shut down conversion at "you're pretentious!", then there's no dialogue regarding why Deadpool low brow humor is more worthwhile than Adam Sandler low brow humor (just for example).
Deadpool is more concerned with the sheer amount of jokes rather than comedic timing or any semblance of cleverness.
This is his first credited full length film. It's not off base to call him a first time director. I'm pretty sure he himself has said it's his directorial debut.

Ahaversus your review of that guy's review is all over the place. I admire that.
True, but it feels like they arent giving enough credit to his previous work

Uncanny X Force? It's on sale on Comixology, guess I should check it outDeadpool can get pretty wild and gory.
But at the end of the day it's all for the kids.
lol no way; I'm sure my mother would be proudCheck it out, Ahasverus. You made it on Devin Faraci's Twitter feed.
Did you like Kick-Ass? Edit: Never mind you made mention of it in your review.
As a fan of dark comedies, and even ones in this very same genre (see: Kick-Ass), Id be more than willing to buy in,
lol no way; I'm sure my mother would be proudNow whoever was the whistleblower, please raise your hand.not
I'm sorry guys, seriously, my strong personal opinion of the man got things out of hand, I didn't meant to. The Expendable review is a negative one I can agree with.
The remake ? Almost everyone =P

This reads like what I was expecting/fearing about the movie.

I'll still watch the movie. Calm yourself. Even the positive reviews going on about how profane it is strikes me as a legitimate fear I hadI'm glad I read a well written negative review; it tempers my hype and helps me enjoy movies better.

Aside from a few slow-motion flourishes, most scenes are captured in bland medium shots with cinematography not out of place on Netflixs Marvel shows.
*"Wrong" buzzer sound*
Anything approaching the Daredevil hallway scene in this would be surprising.
Uncanny X Force? It's on sale on Comixology, guess I should check it out
Edit: was on sale
96%?
Damn this turned out much better than I expected.
It's only had 28 reviews so far.
True, but the fact that it's this high now is something to be hopeful for. It's only had 28 reviews so far.
Correct me if I'm wrong but it's not really the cinematography that is that impressive in that scene, it is the choreography and timing. The camera is pretty much still for most of it, right?
Granted, I haven't watched that scene since the show came out, but all I remember is a nearly static camera while Daredevil beats up a bunch of dudes.
Eh, it's not like its going to drop to 60% with that many in already.
Normally, if it's shit, it's rating is low from the get go, like Man of Steel.
