Disagree. Looks more like a generic souls demon now. Taking away any interesting aspects. The Flamelurker is specifically disfigured fiery and demonic humanoid with a bloated eye and you can see in the original design.

This is my most anticipated game of next gen. I can't believe I missed the train, only finished Dark Souls 1 after a triple dip, then Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne, and now I am catered with a chance to go right back to the beginning,

Now this looks much more promising. I still think it look a bit too overdesigned och the lightning looks just a touch too punchy. I'm still probably going to be there day zero but when I imagined the remaster my hope was always the style of the cgi intro but in much higher fidelity. But still, more cautiously optimistic now.

IIRC the 6th Archstone was the land of the giants. There is a youtube video where someone has mined the game data and shown what it looks like.
This remake may be completely different.

I've been hoping for a Demon's Souls remaster/remake for years, so I am 100% among the hypest of the hype.
However, I tend to keep an open mind regarding remakes and always expect things to be modified, but I try to look at it from the lens of someone who might not have played the original. I don't look forward to purists bitching about completely reasonable quality of life changes.

I do, thats why I said that, they only have to care about making it look the best they can, with the best performance they can achieve. From had to think about gameplay, art, animations, lore, etc, etc. Dealing with the fucking PS3...

I mean, they have problems with hardware limitations, that's true, but dark souls 3 and sekiro on pc run pretty smooth even in 4k

They have changed the best part about the game. Made it colourful and cartoony. Dark colours truely evoked dread and misery in original. No idea why they did that.

What is the point of saying that though? What is a PC? It is not a single spec box... you can spend on it as little as £200 or £50k (maybe your PC is the highest specced Mac Pro with wheels lol). Then not having a problem if you take their game optimised for console specs and run it on HW 2-5x more powerful than that it now runs smoothly is now... impressive technically?

It looks truly great. I'm just afraid of how it will feel gameplay wise as they will surely do changes there. If it's a bit more similar to the dark souls saga that would be a nice improvement. Really looking forward to see if they will add the cut content from the original. Also... show us the waifu!

Platiumed this on PS3. Happy to do it again on PS5. Even though I consider DS1 is the best Souls game. DS has a special place in my heart.

According to the official Playstation YouTube channel, the video description says that it will have a high fidelity ray traced mods, and a high framerates mode. that's pretty cool

I only ever got to play bits of this game, so I'm super pumped especially as a mega fan of the Dark Souls trilogy and Bloodborne.

I have a good pc, yes, but they got better in general, the first dark souls was a mess on both consoles and high end pc (dsfix was mandatory)

They don't want to make their own shit. Their engine and tools are made for remasters/remakes, they are the best at their job, they are free from judgement of the original content, they don't have to make prototypes or pitch their ideas to publishers, their games are reviewed based only on the technical aspect, they have guaranteed jobs for the nearby future (and probably longer). Why on earth would they even want to make original content? And if they ever wanted to make original content, any publisher would fund them based on reputation alone, so if they aren't doing it, it's simply because THEY DON'T WANT TO.
Supposedly, it's the permadeath mode that was removed mid development on the original game.

i have nothing to say. i hoped it would look like dark souls and it went above and beyond. this right here is my reason to buy me a PS5. love the series and when we get this game remade like this, staying truth to the original in gameplay and difficulty it might be the last DS game in the series that turn out to be one of the best. plz dont fuck dis op Bluepoint. But you remade SotC in a masterfull way so there is hope, LET THE WORLD BE MENDED!

Day 1 for me, without a doubt. Even if it is a launch title and PS5 would show to be expensive. The original game is one of my favorite ones ever, and while I am usually against remakes, both for games and movies, this is the one game that really needs and deserve it. so many limitations in the original that was obviously due to budget/time limit restraints.
