Destiny 2: Creating the Sentinel Titan Subclass - IGN First

if you aren't playing a female hunter you may as well uninstall your game.

Cayde is the only cool male hunter because he's Cayde. The guy who gives you Rise of Iron bounties in the Iron Temple looks goofy as hell

latest

This highlights everything wrong with the male hunter. Weirdly shaped armor and a weird cloak with weirdly balanced proportions Just, no.

Then again I think Destiny's character models look awful most of the time. How we went from Reach's near flawless models to this, I'll never understand.

Or you know use nicely looking armor and the good capes.

It's a shame every piece doesn't look at least decent.
There are plenty of very nice hunter sets. Let's make a (highly subjective) list!

1. Iron Companion set for the Hunter. Glorious. The best there is. Gorgeous gloves and chest, beautiful legs. Choice between two class items, with the ringmail being my preference. The helmets are somewhat subdued, but that's fine (class item hides most of the helm anyway).
2. New Vault of Glass set with ornaments. Super sleek-looking. One leg gets replaced with a Vex leg which is amazing. Chest piece is excellent, gloves are good. Helmets are great.
3. New Trials set.
4. Old Trials sets.
5. Wrath of the Machine set. Everything is amazing but the class item. Preferred replacement - Makeshift Scarf.

Special mentions: Long Tomorrow 9G, Neuroghast, Crota set, Days of Iron with ornaments.

See - I know all this and I don't even main a hunter.

You are taking this way to serious.

I mean, this is a game where you play the same mission 300 times to get a gun or cloak or chest piece that looks good and has good stats.

I just don't like how most of it looks. Half of the Hunter stuff is made of nylon and velcro.

Only hoodless capes for me.

Taniks cloak>all

What hunter armor isnt great? Lol hunter has style and the best class item, poor Titans crying in their butt towels

This initial concept art is sick

The helmet looks dumb here but the rest is great. Visually some of the best armor in the game to me.

Not the best picture because those colors are strange, but the Trials set had cohesive shapes at least

IDK what these are trying to be other than dirtbike outfits

I think i might be trading in my hunter for Titan as the starting class....

Dude looks sick!

We Captain America with Thanos power boys!!!

I'm ready

I will never agree with you, but I will fight to death to defend your right to say it.

Everything about the armor in that picture is aerodynamic and sleek, and all of the color distribution is almost perfect (I would have made the shoes dark brown). It's a great piece of key art that never translated into the actual game.

It looks shit mate.

I think they can't really do too much with the hunter subclasses because of the Lore of Hunters. The lore of bladedancing and now arcstriding means up close and personal with melee weapons. Not really useful for PVE raids;

Gunslingers also aren't really useful in Endgame activities but with more shots can be decent with clearing "yellow bar" enemies Again not raid boss useful until we know the mechanics.

These 2 classes thrive in PvP though; 1 shot kills for both and roaming supers. Hopefully Nightstalker is back to make a PvE subclass useful for damage buffs and orb generation.

I will main Warlock
then Hunter
then Titan

depending on usefulness in activities

Ehh gunslingers are awesome for raids, moreso with the correct set up. The helm that only gives you one shot, but increases the damage.

Yeah it's mechanics driven like the oversoul above crota; maybe the captains in WOTM. It's very situational but most would rather have orbs from nightstalker and add control.

You still need a minimum of 20 drops (probably more like 30-40+) from a Hard Mode Raid to gear up 3 characters......I rate that as a fairly significant challenge.

I ran 5 characters between XB1 and PS4 and I couldn't really be bothered to get any of them to max light. My larger point is that you really shouldn't get caught up in pushing your way to max.

Huh? Not in the slightest. I can gear up all three toons off crucible bounties alone. The days of needing to do hard mode raid to Max out your toons is far in the past. If you're referring to raid gear with raid perks then sure but that should be obvious. I have a vault completely full od400 gear and weapons at this point.

Honestly my problem with a lot of the Hunter armor is that Bungie makes it asymmetrical with random pieces on one shoulder or something. The VoG armor is a good example. It looks silly. Hope they did better with the Hunter armor in D2.

Bungie literally released the 1st game without bothering to include lore or a story. If they're designing for lore now, they are somehow even worse at this than I thought which barely seems possible.

Yea asymmetry can be cool but Bungie just does it weird and the vault armor id a good example.

It also doesnt help that all of the shadets look like ass on hunters. D1 eas a struggle

I'm really hoping they've overhauled the shader system for D2. In D1, 95% of the shaders look fucking awful. Even with totally random color schemes, it shouldn't have been possible to have so many look so bad.

Us hunters have always been persecuted. :/

Still rocking it as my main though because that's what I do!

That sentinental titan looks too OP though. The shield AND the bubble? I mean...goodness...

Bungie goes on and on about balance and sandbox nerfing the tar out of awesome endgame weapons to almost negate any reason to chase them to begin with, and then they deliver a class that as of now seems exceedingly OP to the detriment of the "sandbox" mentality.

Okay Bungie....okay.

All this awesome Hunter art makes me want to cry. Why did Bungie had to shit on Blade so hard in Y2/Y3? I miss playing Bladedancer...the super is pretty damn useless.

Hopefully this time around Bungie doesn't depend on their "data" too much. "Data shows...." and here comes the nerf. Buff the other Super, instead of nerf, nerf, nerf.

If the pattern holds true, they will nerf Titan . . probably to the detriment to the shield. It may not be all that powerful...thus...you will use the bubble bro more....But who knows?

Im excited to find out! Woo Hoo Destiny 2!

So since that question was already asked: I did get the amazon code for the beta, but haven't received a mail from Bungie yet - as preload starts today, I wonder if something went wrong?

I pre-ordered the day D2 was announced at GameStop for ps4(mainly because of the Cayde figure as I plan to go all digital) and the code to enter at Bungies site. I haven't received anything from Bungie yet either so I wouldn't worry. I think D1 servers are going through maintenence now because they're offline so I assume when they go back up around 10 am, Bungie will start sending out codes.

I also pre-ordered a Xb1 copy from Amazon so I could grab another beta code and play on Xbox with some buddies but Amazon hasn't sent me the code to enter on on Bungies site. Any idea how long that takes ?

It has been a while since I preordered (March) and I received the code to the end of June, but I suspect there'll be waves of codes going out.

You guys are really making me think making my Hunter female in D2. Since we're losing everything it won't make any difference to make a "new character" right?
