I wish Destiny unlocked at 12AM EST rather than PST. Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare unlocked EST time so it was 9pm here in L.A.
It was dope. Best Coast!

Not necessarily. Not every game gets a midnight launch at EB Games, so we have to wait until stores open at 9am, or whenever Courier Drivers decide to deliver our shit. Even on PC, I'm pretty sure we have to wait for the servers of some games to be turned on before games can be played. That's how it's like for every game...
For what system?
Hard to believe that a new franchise game like this could potentially be the biggest game of the year.
You guys think this will outsell Call of Duty this year? Seems like its inevitable.

New franchise, yes...but this is Bungie, following up their mega successful Halo franchise with a game very similar to Halo. Not that crazy if you think about it.Hard to believe that a new franchise game like this could potentially be the biggest game of the year.

Are there any recommended "why you should play Destiny" type videos? I didn't play the Beta very much, so I'm looking for things to sway my opinion.

Since it went gold already, shouldn't pre loading begin sometime soon? Having everybody's download begin the day before seems like an unnecessary stress on PSN when they could just stagger it over the next two weeks.
Pre-loading shouldn't be a problem. It's the additional in game download that worries me. That ended up being a 6 hour download for me in the beta. It also kills the point of pre-loading but I digress.

Buy it on EU PSN, then you can play it at 7 p.m.I wish Destiny unlocked at 12AM EST rather than PST. Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare unlocked EST time so it was 9pm here in L.A.

It will initially but I think passed this year it will be close between them. Call of Duty sales got a lot of audience that pay for very few games a year. There will be also be people even from this thread who go back to the mechanics they know from games such as COD and HALO because Destiny doesn't grip them the same way.Hard to believe that a new franchise game like this could potentially be the biggest game of the year.

not yet. You should play it if you enjoy:
- Shooter meets rpg
- Loot fests
- Competitive multiplayer
- Co-op
- Customization
Interesting that modbot didn't close this thread.
So when it's 12am of the 9th in like Japan/Australia, the servers will be up.
So "IF" I get the game a day early, I could play it at 3pm on the 8th in the UK?
I wanted to love and main the Hunter, but I wasn't a fan of the Gunslinger subclass, maybe Bladedancer would be better?
They coul do some really awesome stuff, but im not getting my hopes up, im thinking higher level enemies, better loot. Gotta set those expectations lowjust read about nightfall strikes on DestinyDB
The Darkness gathers around Sepiks Prime as it absorbs the essence of everything the Fallen can steal.
i can't wait to play it and see what changes from normal one!

It's, like, two weeks until Destiny comes out. There's kind of no point.
Potentially. Depends on how good the word of mouth is and how fast it will spread at launch.
I think over time Destiny might outsell CoD.
TWO. WEEKS.
Almost there!
think you save about $5 by buying the pass instead of the packs one at a time.Trying to decide if the digital Guardian edition is worth it. So basically paying $30 for the expansion packs and early access stuff. How much are the expansion packs by themselves?

Yup. The Expansion Pass is $34.99 but individually each expansion is $20 each.
Do we know anything about what will be in the expansion packs?

Oh nice, that is a pretty good deal. Thanks for the replies!so, 5 over the pass but 10 over both expansions purchased individually
I like how Bungie had to clarify on Twitter when the servers are going live, because DeeJ is trying to be all poetic in the weekly updates and no one knows what he's trying to say.
When it is September 9th somewhere in the world, and you have access to your very own version of Destiny, it will be time for you to create a character that will keep you company for a good, long time. Retailers will stick to time-zones. Our servers wont know the difference. Retailers will break street date. Our servers wont.
