Deus Ex: Human Revolution - New Gameplay Trailer

UI looks very slick. I have an issue with how the crates are lifted/knocked around though, looks exactly like Deus Ex 1 - no sense of weight, involvement in the action.

you know i was gonna refrain from the mass effect 2 comments but now that it's out there yeah SEE BIOWARE THERE'S A THIRD OPTION FOR INVENTORIES OTHER THAN "TERRIBLE" AND "NONEXISTENT"

It's looking damn good so far, and when it comes to design they seem to genuinely know what they're doing. A few disappointing omissions but nothing too big. The only thing that really bugs me is all the yellow, but other than that everything they've shown has been very encouraging.

these dudes get it.

Woah there. Lets not jinx it.

The Icarus Landing System is a discreet augmentation surgically implanted in the user's lower back, slightly above the coccyx at the base of the vertebral column. The device has an accelerative descent sensor built in; in freefall, the unit will automatically activate the patented High-Fall Safeguard System, an EMF decelerator generating a fixed-focus electromagnetic lensing field, projected downward along the plane of the drop. This field pushes against the Earth's magnetosphere and slows the user's descent to a manageable velocity, allowing him to fall from almost any height (within reason) to a relatively soft landing.

... Continue. :D

2 out of 3 ain't bad

It didn't excel at cover either, the cover system was far from flexible, sometimes doorways didn't allow for cover, some cover popped the player back out in the middle of shooting.

Plus it wasn't a FPS, thus 0 out of 3.

that looooked gooood.

I didnt get a chance to play the original. Hopefully its doesnt stray to far from the gameplay you guys say is remarkable.

Haha, oh yea. I think it's cover system works pretty well though.

I only wish such games could be more cinematic (ingame), but that's probably hard due to the open&complex gameplay. Somewhat similar to how I feel about Fallout 3.

btw how does a stealth suit manage to not getting detected by laser/IR beams? ^^

This should come MUCH closer than Fallout 3. FO3 is an incredibly janky looking game while this seems to be quite polished.

I believe there are very cinematic looking melee attack animations. It looks like it goes into slow motion when you do them (which is actually one of the only complaints I have).

Sorry, I didn't mean it to compare it to F3 :lol Just that these kind of (open) RPG-mix games tend to be less cinematic/impressive/atmospheric / as good in presentation as (some of the best) FPS games.
"duh", I know.

Wow, parts of this trailer reminded me so much of the original Deus Ex that it gave me chills. Changing the turrets around, the boxes, the grates, the inventory, I am officially 100% behind this game. The gameplay IS a little bit janky, but the game is still beta so they have some time to fix it up.

Regardless, Day 1.

It would not be Deus Ex without jank and physics-defying crates...

Looks pretty cool. Hopefully they crank up the brutality with all the power and weapons you can get. Looks fun, but the violence doesn't quite deliver.

if you pause the vid when the stealth aug is highlighted it says that all light is bent around the player, including infra-red.

I hope they don't listen to the nagging and keep the yellow tint and third person takedowns.

RETURN OF THE KING

Oh thank fucking god. Preliminary look of course. But inventory, upgrades, sneaking, complex interfaces and hacking?

THANK YOU SIR MAY I HAVE ANOTHER!

The yellow haze is a bit much, but for decent gameplay I can forgive even minecraft graphics.

This thing has to be almost to the point where they're entering certification, so I think you're pretty much guaranteed everything that's in it here is in the final game.

So how long after release do y'all think it will be before someone releases a mod to remove the yellow haze?

I'm sure it'll happen quickly.

I don't understand the hate, though. It gives the game a very unique appearance.

It's trailer is totally for the DX1 fans.

"Hai guyz! I heard you like an old school inventory, customizable weapons and skils, as well as experience points. Well here you go!"

Also showed of the stealth gameplay and the possible action path. It continues to look like the thing I alway wanted to play again.

I do not hate it per se, I just would like to be able to play the game with normal colors at some point or another.

alright, they have thought of everything :D

@piss filter: I won't dislike it if all the various levels/set pieces won't look the same because of it...

No way. Too many explosions and people shooting at the player character. In my DX1 playthoughts, there are no explosions or people shooting at me. Ever.

I'm sure (I hope) that's just for cinematic trailer purposes though, the game would look pretty boring if the trailer was just some guy crouching in a dark corner. :lol

I also don't see any NPCs running around like headless chickens in a hilarious fit of bad AI and bad animation. That's a failure for the old school, right there.
