Perhaps this will become a thing in the future?
I knew the games story was only on their website, but the credits too? What's even on the disc?

Now, the reason such a credits list can exist is because it was included inside a game (nobody's saying "no credits ever!!", I can't imagine,) but having them be skippable and rewind/FF'able and re-accessable doesn't make a difference.
Bitch they spent years making the game, you can spend ten minutes drinking a soda while the credits roll
I hate this mindset
The audience doesn't owe anything to the people who made the game. They bought the game, and they should be able to skip the credits if they want.
You're not forced to sit through credits when watching a film, why would it be okay for a video game?
Wait, what methods of ignoring movie credits can't also apply to video games? All I can think of is turning the film off or leaving, both of which are options for games.

They should always be skipable. The player's time should be respected by the developers. Credits should be accessible from the main menu, and should play at the end of the game. The credits should have controls that allow the player to skip, fast forward, rewind and pause. Players who don't care don't have to watch. Players who do care are given total control over how the credits play, so enthusiasts can look for individual names, or just watch them roll normally.
Depends on the game. If the story and ending are good I usually enjoy a good "Blankly stare st the screen and think about what just happened" kinda moment.

Dude. These are the people that made the game you clearly liked enough to finish. Pay some respect.
That has nothing to do with it being unskippable.I kind of like it. Gives you a good pause to cool down and contemplate on the game.
What kind of arguments are these. You're saying my time isn't precious because game time isn't worth much... on a gaming form. Really?I agree with this sentiment.
Also, you had enough free time to spend anywhere between 4 and 40 hours (maybe more) to finish a game. As if your time is that precious.
And they are as skippable as theatre credits. Just leave the screen behind you.
And we're done! Rally, OP, Really? I would certainly want to see my name on that list if I had busted my behind working on it for God-knows-how-many years!
2. C'mon. WHO IS READING IT?
Agreed, this was me in The Last of Us. Credits are necessary, they worked hard to get the game to you and if enjoyed it enough to finish the game you can put up with unskippable credits.
Soulsborne games do this best I think. No skipping on the first post through, but they can be skipped on subsequent plays.
That's not a decision that should be made for people. The player should be given more power to control the credits. It would benefit everyone. As if your time is that precious.
PEOPLE ARENT SAYING GET RID OF CREDIT'S ALTOGETHER, JUST TO GIVE THE OPTION OF SKIPPING THEM!And we're done! Rally, OP, Really? I would certainly want to see my name on that list if I had busted my behind working on it for God-knows-how-many years!
I don't care if you don't read it, I'm putting my name on the work I created. Credits aren't there for your entertainment, they are there in recognition of the people who made the product. Don't like it? Make your own game without credits.
No one is saying credits shouldnt be there
There are literally people in this thread saying that.

This entitlement is amazing. You don't care at all about the user then. What if the user actually needs to skip the credits, for whatever important reason? Because you made it unskippable, your arrogance will now have forced someone to play the end again because they had to force quit, or just quit playing without having 'officially' finished the game. All because you wanted to _force_ someone to sit through the credits.I don't care if you don't read it, I'm putting my name on the work I created. 10 minutes?
I've never see this. That's pretty long.
And we're done here. First post nails it.
Honestly, OP, show some respect or at least some semblance of courtesy. You just spent what, 50-60 hours enjoying a game that the dev team spent years of their lives making, and not only can't you be assed to spend 10 minutes watching the credits, you also have the gall to complain about the credits roll being there in the first place?
The problem isn't with unskippable credits, it's with you.
Gall? What is this? And we're done here. First post nails it.

He paid for the game and gave his precious time to play it. That's the ultimate thanks.
Not really getting these attacks.
Why would pissing be an important reason to have to close credits? Force-quitting loses your progress in a lot of games. Why do you need specific important reasons? Are you saying there are no scenarios where someone might need to use the computer for a reason important to them? That's quite the claim. What important reasons? Gotta piss? Check email? Get back to that open heart surgery you were in the middle of? Leave the TV/computer and do it or exit to desktop, dashboard and close the application. Credits skipped. Just like walking out of a theatre.

I can't believe so many people are agreeing with this nonsense.
You already paid for the game, that's your appreciation. That's your "Thanks" to the devs. Nobody gains anything from being forced to watch 10+ minutes of credits. It's just a blur of names. Wasting the player's time is the ultimate sin.
