Capcom are giving themselves a chance to rewrite their own history. They're gearing themselves up for RE5/6 remakes, and if they remake DMC1 then on the way to the holy grail known as 3 they will have a chance to right one of the most well known wrongs in DMC2. Maybe. Who knows.

DMC2 needs it.
And not just a remake. But a complete overall re-designed from top to bottom.

Please don't make atrocious faces like in DMC5. Please revert faces to DMC4.
