Not really. NG II has great combat, but it's not a great game.

There is the kernel of a great game in there, sir. A seed, if you will. A seed that was sadly choked and suffocated by Tecmo/Koei.

I'm still bitter.

In regards to the wall running. It has been in both 3rd person form in Dead Space 2 and 1st person form in Aliens v. Predator.

By humanoid characters?(IIRC both examples are of aliens being able to walk/cling to walls)

Are you also able to leap off the wall run to cut dudes in half with Katanas?

if not then I think it's a bit reductive to say that what this game is trying to do has been done before in the genre.
