I'm not an Itagaki fan at all. In fact, I just plain don't like him. I never really got into Ninja Gaiden or Dead or Alive. But I think Devil's Third looks very intriguing. Looking forward to seeing more.

The MP focus worries me, as well. But what I'm hoping for, above everything else, is something that can deliver on a solid "brawler" with decent netcode.

Between Valhalla's Devil's Third and P*'s Anarchy Reigns, at least one of these two devs has to have it in them to deliver on a solid game.

This video kind of disapeared from the internets and I only caught it today. This, as others have said, is exactly how I picture Itagaki at work.

I think the only reason there was any kind of info last year is that people really wanted to know what Valhalla was working on. The trailer we laid witness to was basically pre-alpha footage/concept build being shared for a wide audience because nothing else was finished. While it would be nice to see a new gameplay trailer at E3 , given the TGS hint the game is obviously still probably close to a year from release. Hopefully THQ doesn't fold before then.

I'd agree with this. The overall motif seems to give off that vibe. Maybe because they thought Western fans would vibe with this type of look?

In any case, watching the original, uncensored trailer again has only revived my hype for what this game could stand to be. Whatever Hayashi and the "Neo Team Ninja" stand to do with NG3, I'm much more interested in seeing what Itagaki and the old guard at Valhalla will do with this game.

edit: I liked the animation of the woman killing the guy with a judo move (I think) and than a fast move with her sword while he is on the ground. So badass.
