Awesome episode. I can't believe they actually had Deb find out this early. The race is on to the end and it looks like the writers are focused heading into the final 2 seasons. Also glad they got rid of fake Doakes. He sucked on this show(although he seems pretty awesome so far on SOA).

This was one of the best episodes of Dexter in some time. Although I'm still wondering what the intern is up to and whether it's gonna go anywhere. Doodling on that hand and cancelling Dexter's credit card accounts? Why?

This isn't the last season?

Oh well, good start at least

Because Dex is a dick and didn't like his video game or want him touching his stuff.

This would be awesome I hope they continue the incest stuff at some point in the season. It makes things way more interesting. It's fucked up but fun they'd have to hide both his identity and their relationship.

It's the closest thing to the potential catharsis of Dexter running off with Brian at the end of the first season and just relentlessly killing people for no reason till he gets caught. I must admit, it would be a guilty pleasure.

I was expecting a horrible primiere and basically a reason not to watch this season..

First episode was very good imo though, mostly because of that ending.
I really liked they didn't beat around the bush... also deb
looks extra hot this season to me dunno.

Hmm, I like where this is going.

Hopefully this season doesn't torpedo like S5. S6 was okay, but there were a lot of WTF moments.

There's what, this season and S8, then it's done? Hopefully they can transition to a respectable end to this show.

By Deb knowing who Dex really is, it kinda allows for a "back to basics" approach to the plot. Lots of stuff to expand upon from the first four seasons of the show, which will give them a lot of good ideas for fleshing out the rest of the plot, unlike resorting to grasping for straws after they killed Rita (if they are smart). What a huge mistake that was.

I'm still way too skeptical after the last 2 seasons that they'll pull this together (the last season recap brought back all the bad feelings of season 6) but this episode was a breath of fresh air from the stale wheel spinning. The opening scene seemed to be playing out exactly as I feared it might with Dexter trying to convince Deb that this was a one time thing, but I'm genuinely surprised they only took one episode for Deb to figure it out. I guess the writers finally realized that they took way too long for the one thing everyone was waiting to happen to finally happen and aren't going to waste another season.

I was still going to watch this season, but it was going to take a distant backseat to the other Sunday HBO and Showtime shows, now it's moved right back up with the other shows. For a little while at least.

Great ep but there is so many crazy coincidences that its off putting, like the Cop just happening to open the trunk of the car and finding a body, then being shot and the police department just randomly hires someone who is out to get Dex. The latter will obviously be explained but at the moment its weird.

Also, was anyone else praying that the babysitter would just rip her shirt off when she was on the bed? It was all setup for it and I'm usually great at predicting nudity....major disappointment.

We won't have an idea of where this is going until a good 3-5 eps in. So far, so good.

She wanted to, but he was too busy mentally fapping to Dexter's finances like the loser he is. :D

They put it on Youtube for free?!

WTF

Are they doing this all season?! Holy shit, I can't believe this.
If they are doing this why can't they just offer a season pass -_-

Showtime: "Let's curb piracy by offering it for free ourselves... and still make no money from those without cable subs including Showtime.

Wait a minute, why do we want to curb piracy if we are giving it away now instead? DERP"

It's weird seeing this show being good again, but I suppose that's what happens when you have a plan.

Don't think so.

Just let people log in so we can see the tittes and hear f-bombs, ffs.

An ep without Deb's swearing is not acceptable.

It says that this was an "edited" version of the episode. Other than censoring breasts and the swearing, was anything else cut?

Did some quick scanning, doesn't look like it. Wasn't a very violent episode so it doesn't look like any of it was cut, and they didn't cut anything from the season recap.

Presumably they've put the episode on YouTube so that curious people can see that Dexter is good again and re-sub to showtime due to it.

They MUST be aware that its better than anything since S4. I mean, it totally was.

I love the possibilities from this episode, but have zero faith when you consider stuff like the airport, LaGuerta's super slide vision and so on.

About damn time!

That episode had something seasons 5 and 6 largely lacked - tension. I won't get my hopes too far up just yet, but things look promising.

great episode, nice to see they didnt dance around that stuff for 5 episodes

and yeah leugerta is just blah, i cant describe it but she rubs me the wrong way

le blahta

I can't defend the airport scene, but if you saw a shiny object reflecting the light directly under a murder victim, wouldn't you investigate? She didn't know it was going to be a slide - could have been a watch, a ring, etc.

So I'm really looking forward to Dexter telling Deb that he killed Trinity. Good way to score karma points and let that particular thread be put to bed, once and for all. Same with Brian. And that Lumen was the 13th girl in season 5 and that he was the one helping her eliminate the rapists. I'm really curious to see how they handle the events of the past seasons being laid bare for Deb to see.

I think it's a little silly that LaGuerta found it. Should have been Masuka or Quinn or somebody else who was not Deb or Dexter investigating the scene, or it shouldn't have fallen down into a weird grate in the floor. Ultimately, the result is the same: BHB investigation getting reopened.

Well shit that was a lot better than I expected.

The only thing I thought was terrible was the iPhone fingerprint scanner. -_-

Though I've only been watching this series since S4, this has got to be the best episode of the bunch. No beating around the bush -in your face -reveal at the end. Loved it.

Still...that airport scene made me cringe at the nonchalant awfulness of it all.

I was very scared when I realized that Deb didn't know he was killing others and thought that would be the whole season so really glad to see them wrap that up in the first episode. Makes me very excited for what's next. Whatever is going to happen with the intern seems worth it since they've already built up in the last season.

Also not sure why people are pumped about the first episode being on youtube. That's a pretty common practice for many networks to bring new people in or at least make them aware of the shows existence. iTunes or Amazon usually also have many free first episodes of seasons.

I wonder if Mike was killed off because that actor has a supporting role on Sons of Anarchy this season?

Man, the guy was fucking useless last season I thought "hey, I guess they're just gearing up for using him in an effective manner as the department's only competent detective next season"

boy was I wrong!

Wow, this episode was pretty good, aside from a few eyerolly moments (airport killing [isn't an airport one place you'd expect a SHIT TON of cameras?], La Guerta deciding to check the vent for some reason). Was very surprised that they let Deb find out so quickly. Thought they were gonna extend that for a few episodes, AT LEAST.

Oh, and they killed Doakes Jr., which I'm sorta not too sad about.

How is Dexter's boat back? It literally exploded and sank flaming into the open ocean about two days ago in the show's timeline.

That wasn't his boat. It was some small little canoe that Tom Hanks' son put him in.

Nah. They got rid of him because they're finally going to make Laguerta useful. I hope.

As soon as she discovers that Doakes could be cleared, she's effectively going to turn into Mrs Doakes. Only nowhere near as badass, obviously.

I am still eager to see how Yvonne Strahovski is going to fit into the plot. They showed her in the preview and talked a bit about her character, but I sort of missed it. Anybody know if that promo is on Youtube yet?
