Coincidentally I ordered both of these for 360 a few days ago and should receive them soon. I'm hoping it's not that distracting.

Lords of Shadow can go from 25fps to 50fps.

FC3 never reaches 30fps.

Lords of Shadow is one of my favorite games of this gen. Considering the size and everything that is going on here, I'll be able to overlook it. Judging by the reception the game is getting, it seems most are able to do so as well.

Lords of shadow is fascinating in that its framerate mostly sat in the low 20 exclusively yet never bothered me due to its amazing motionblur that masked it incredibly well

Not surprising as the game is pretty poorly optimized on PC as well and it is a Ubisoft open world game. I'm still getting it next week. Hopefully it isn't too bad.

DX11's poorly implemented, but the game itself's quite well optimized in DX9. I get a stable (and I mean stable) 60fps with max settings on a GTX 670 and i5 2500k at 4.5GHz.

No, I don't have a run-of-the-mill PC, but a few games recently I've not been able to run at 60fps maxed out. Assassin's Creed III, Hitman: Absolution (not even close lol), and NFS: Most Wanted to be specific.

Gamersyde videos made the 360 version look better than I expected, but the game is huge so it isn't surprising there are rough spots. I'll wait to see the overall reaction is once the game has been played by more people.

Come on, man. The game is not some broken, unplayable mess and it is getting glowing reviews across all platforms. If any of this was a deal breaker, you would think it would be mentioned by at least someone in the reviews. It is just a huge, demanding game with a lot going on, but is still amazing all the same. I know I am going to enjoy it.

I would consider those GPU to be outdated. But I firmly believe they could outbest either console versions at 720p or above.

Whilst I agree with everyone calling out for new consoles, I don't think that excuses the poor performance. Devs know what these things are capable of, they should work within the limits.

As a PC gamer that also owns the consoles I don't want the devs to stop pushing the technical limit because Sony and Microsoft are to cheap to put our new consoles sooner.

Hell as a PC gamer innovation has been capped for years due to the consoles.

That's encouraging to hear, I'm rocking a 5870 as well. But I still wonder whether my E8500's up to the task or not . Crysis does look and run wonderfully though. Is Crysis still considered a good benchmark? D:

I don't understand if this dithering artifact on ps3 could depend to try to 'emulate' the shadow 'DOF' effect filter for the long distance of the pc version. Well, I don't know what is it the proper term, my apologies.

Well, your CPU is going to be a severe bottleneck.

That much I know, but it's done me well so far . I'm just curious as to how far I can push the game while maintaining at least 30 fps.

Even Metro 2033 and The Witcher 2 run pretty nicely. One day I'll update to something fresher, but now the money's just not there.

EDit: ANd then I remembered that christmas is just around the corner..hm. Any recommendations for a cheap but obvious upgrade from my current CPU? I could ask in the PC thread but eh!
