I actually like the look. I'm hoping that playing at 1200p with some AA on will make a pretty nice difference compared to what I watched in that youtube video. It was a bit jaggy even at 1080p (could be just the video). The animations looked really nice, though.

Do you recall any class being really exciting in early on in Act 1 Normal? Even as a Sorc you were just running around with fire bolt or fire ball (or the other tree equivalents). Characters didn't get truly impressive (looking) skills until later (Frozen Orb, Meteor, Chain Lightning, T-Storm, Hydra, etc...)

Though I haven't played DII for quite some time, that's probably true. The barbarian actually looks quite exciting to me in this video though, so I guess that bodes well for the class.

Visuals are as underwhelming as always on these youtube clips, here's hoping that the engine is not just scaleable down put also up so we can crank up the visuals. Plus I hope I can use SGSSAA etc. Will buy nonetheless since the visuals aren't the main pillar of my diablo experience.

Really want the game to get released this holiday, I guess they want the same since it'll make much more money having a holiday release window rather than some random Q1-Q2 2012 window.

In case you forgot, that is in fact what it was like playin Act 1 Normal (regardless of your class). If anything Diablo 3 looks more interesting.

Though if Diablo 2's combat didn't interest you than I can see why you might be upset.

The video was pretty bad, truth be told. Diablo III will be awesome I have no doubt but the video did a poor job showing off the game. There were some cool looking spells and abilities in the video so at least we got that much out of it!

There are a few game developers that should be given the benefit of the doubt, Blizzard is one of them. I'm going to says the odds of them making Diablo III anything short of phenomenal are less that 0%.

Isn't hype supposed to impress you with what the game can offer at it's peak? (Like they did at the end of every single SC2 trailer/gameplay video with epic battles) and not show how lackluster it is. That's not how it should work.

I would say that like other Blizzard games, the universe is rich. Lots of lore, etc. Story telling during the days of Diablo and Diablo II however was much different than it is now. And according to previews, the actual story is much more central in Diablo III than in previous Diablo games. But there are books and lots of stuff based on the Diablo universe.

What's up with the difficulty assumptions? How can you tell how much health the player has and/or how hard it is to kill those things? He ripped them apart and I bet it would feel good, which is more important than anything.

I want my character to feel satisfying and badass no matter what act I am playing.
