Watching it, I saw so many turns I could have cut better and jumps I could have hit better. But right now, my wife is babysitting and I don't think the kid in my living room who is asleep right now would want to be awoken with an "UNDERSTAND, UNDERSTAND!!!"
Rahxephon91 said:I liked it. It controls much better then the first one that's for sure. I don't have to do those annoying "QTE" paint job things in the middle of being attacked by a helio. But the first one does have a better mission structure and feels like a much more focused game. Both are great though.

Same here, along with Gun Valkyrie and Panzer Dragoon Orta.I had the GBA version it was surprisingly close to the DC game in some ways, the even tried to keep the music.discocaine said:A brilliant game. Truly amazing. I put like 100 hours into it. So so so awesome. That, Shenmue 2 and Outrun2 were the only reason I ever played on my Xbox.
*Also, did anyone ever play the GBA version?
LegatoB said:It wasn't really "more primitive," it just had a different focus. Rather than time-attack stages, it was more of a leisurely roam through the environments. Beautiful game.

Yeah, they had great atmosphere.gwarm01 said:Both games had their own flaws and strong points. I remember struggling with the camera a lot in JGR. However the dumbing down of the graffiti mechanics really sucked in JSRF.
One thing I bet no one will argue is that this series has one of the best atmospheres of all time. I was obsessed with the world of this game when I was younger. The art style and the music just made it seem so damn cool. I doubt anything will ever make me feel like playing this game did as a young teen.
Sega1991 said:I think Jet Set Radio Future is actually a better game than Jet Set Radio in a lot of ways. Jet Set Radio has better level design and better music, but Jet Set Radio Future has immensely improved controls.
Speaking as somebody who played both games within the last year or so (infact, I just replayed Jet Set Radio on September 9th), the original JSR is an extremely sluggish game. Characters move slowly (even when dashing), and controlling where your jumps land can almost seem impossible at times. For a game that has a lot of jumping, the amount of air control you're afforded is practically zero.
Jet Set Radio Future is way, way, way better in this regard. Controls are much tighter, it's considerably easier to regain lost speed, and air control especially has been vastly improved. On that alone, it's far less frustrating and far more playable as a result.
If Sega did a third Jet Set Radio game that combined the best of both games, I would eat that shit up like nobody's business.

you must not like Makaimura much.

I've done it about ten times now, I'm not even joking.
Yeah, I prefer my games less focused and easier.Pimpbaa said:I loved it. I like it more than the original because the levels were huge and it didn't have a stupid time limit.

I'd rather have broken controls and having to pointlessly waggle a joystick around to accomplish something that should have been handled by pressing a button, myself._dementia said:Yeah, I prefer my games less focused and easier.
