Didn't like Uncharted 3. should I get 1 and 2?

3 wasn't as good and the ending really irked me the wrong way but I loved 2. However, they all are similar so don't go changing expectations too much

Uncharted 2 was a lot better than 3 - better characters, better story, better combat scenarios, better pacing, better setpieces imo.

But at the end of the day they're pretty similar games. If you didn't like the third one you're probably not going to like the others.

Pretty much.

PART 2 IS A MUST, NO QUESTION..........PART 1 WAS OK, U MIGHT AS WELL WAIT FOR THE REMASTER BUNDLE WHICH IM SURE WILL BE OUT PRIOR TO UC4 IN THE NEW YEAR :)

.

UC1 is horrible. Though 2, while it has better pacing, is very similar to 3 (obviously, as they're the same franchise), so perhaps you shouldn't waste your money.

This. While 2 is better, they are extremely similar. So if you didn't like 3 you probably don't like 2 either.

I did not find 2 much better than 1. It had all the same issues as 1 did IMO. I think it's tremendously overrated, but I'm the minority here.

I loved 1 and liked 2, not a fan of 3 either. Seems like a good base of comparison? Here's the thing though, I didn't like TLOU much so I guess that wasn't much help :)

3 has pretty horrible controls, levels, and encounter design, one and two are much better games. 2 is the high point.

Depends on what you hated about 3. But 2 is infinitely better than 3. In terms of the script/story. Also the pacing, which impacts level design. It's just an overall much tighter game.

I would say it's seriously worth a try. I say this as a big UC fan, who really did not like 3. 1, is kind of dated. So maybe skip that. Dunno. That's a tough one. But I would say 2 is definitely a must for most gamers. Whether you like the gameplay, is a totally subjective thing.

But it's at least worth a shot.

Well, it plays pretty much the same as the third one, so I dont think you will like it, but I would say try U2, if only for its story and characters.

I'm generally not a fan of the Uncharted games. I felt Drakes Fortune was tedious and I really had to fight my way through it, Uncharted 2 still had a lot of those things that annoyed me about the first, but it was paced so well that it didn't often pass over the threshold where I'd be willing to put it down, whereas Uncharted 1 did that constantly.

Unfortunately, Uncharted 3 did it often too - not too often that I didn't finish it, but often enough that I stopped playing it for a few times for weeks at a time (something that doesn't happen with games I'm enjoying).

I'd say if you didn't like Uncharted 3, you definitely won't like 1 and you probably won't like 2. Uncharted 2 may be more bearable and you may find the general experience a better one, but whether you enjoy it or not, I'm not sure you would if you didn't like UC3.

Well I'm apparently in the minority here, but I preferred 1 to 2. Both are superior to 3.

Try the demo's see how it feels. I WOULD agree that 2 was probably tighter game-play wise, but as an entire package, I preferred the original.

I thought U3 was a good game with some unfun combat design and a few really bullshit parts.

I really enjoyed U2; I felt it was a better experience in almost every way aside from the graphics.

While I agree that 2 is the best in the series, I don't see why it's considered "soooo much better" than 3 (both are better than 1, which was still pretty good). They're pretty much the same game, pacing to me was very similar and both had great set pieces.

2 is better, but if you didn't like 3 I doubt you'd like 1 and 2, they're pretty cheap though so I guess it couldn't hurt to give them a shot.

The encounter design is drastically dufferent between the games and makes a huge impact.

I still dunno if the OP would be a fan of 2 but I could see him having a lot more fun with it.

I loved the story of Uncharted 1, but the gameplay is much more dynamic and fun in 2. They're not long, so if you have the time, it should be a fun marathon.

After playing TLOU, Uncharted 2(which I just started playing the other day) feels fairly tame and a bit boring by comparison. It doesn't have the same graphical wow power anymore and I feel what's left is a lot of really great presentation levels and mediocre gameplay.

I think I might actually prefer Tomb Raider for this sort of game.

That depends on what you didn't like about it. If the pacing and lack of coherency were the issue, I'd say you should take a chance and try the other games.
However, if the set pieces, gunplay, banter or "I'm fine, shit no I'm not, yes I am, nope, okay maybe we're finally okay" moments are a bother, then the series just may not be for you.

PS: I'm actually in the minority that still prefers the first title, even though I see is as being inferior to the sequel is just about every way. But, the location, lack of globetrotting and the fact that the set piece moments weren't predictable or annoying yet, combined with a overall darker feel and - to me, at least - more challenging campaign have combined with nostalgia and elevated the title in my mind.

2 is incredible, but if you didn't like 3 then you probably won't like 2 and you'll hate 1. Don't waste your money

Or, you might not care for the third game, love the first really like the second. Opinions...

I know some people like to act like 3 is bad and 2 is great (and some even more insane people who think it's the other way around), but really they're all roughly the same quality, 2 being the best because it's a bit more polished. And of course they're all the same style. If you dislike one, I don't see the point of trying any of the others.

There are 2 people in this world. The ones who loved Uncharted 2, and the ones who love Uncharted 3
And there are also people, who are right two, and others, who have three wrong ideas.

UC3 is bad for almost the same reason as UC2. The difference is, that UC2 had better passing, wasn't as problematic in its problems and it's ideas felt fresh at the time. UC3 totally burned me out on the Uncharted Series. I can see someone, who did play UC3 as first, didn't like UC3 for almost the same reason as the other way around.

2 is the one to play. Wasn't a huge fan of the original, myself, and didn't like 3 very much at all. 2, though, that was a fucking stellar video game.

Liked 1 enough, loved 2, did not care at all for 3, and never finished it. The game was so disjointed compared to the previous entries.
The young Drake section drug on so long I wanted to die.

I didn't even finish 3 because of the boat yard part. Way too much combat IMO.

Never played 1, but I thought 2 was absolutely fantastic. My first PS3 game.

If you didn't like 3, how the hell are people recommending you play 1 and 2?

The differences between 2 and 3 are not enough that you'll suddenly like the gameplay. It's the same core game, but with a different story and some minor tweaks.

If you didn't like 3, don't bother paying your hard earned money on more of the same. And I loved all the game, so I'd normally recommend them.

Uncharted 3 was the best one. 2 was very good as well, but they play the same so I don't know if you'll like that either.

I'd give both 1 and 2 a go even if you didn't like 3. I didn't like 3 at all and thought it's combat scenarios were much poorer than both 1 and 2's. The new terrible melee system was also introduced in 3 as well which wasn't fun at all. I'd say try 2 next, if you don't like that then don't bother trying 1.

Nonsense. 2 is one of my favorite video games of all time, and I thought 3 played like garbage. The shooting felt very different and the encounters were far worse.
